Abstract

Divine healing in preaching represents a complex and dynamic expression of spiritual authority. The spiritual authority of charismatics derives not only from hierarchical positions but also from personal experience, biblical interpretation, and the recognition of spiritual gifts. This study aims to comprehensively analyze how narratives of divine healing in preaching construct, affirm, and validate the spiritual authority of charismatic leaders in Indonesia. This research is relevant because divine healing is a central element in charismatic religious practice, while also offering a unique perspective on the construction of authority and contemporary spiritual experience. Utilizing a qualitative approach and literature study, this research identifies key patterns in sermon narratives, congregational responses, and theological interpretations related to divine healing. The findings indicate that spiritual authority in divine healing sermons is built through claims of anointing, demonstrations of spiritual gifts, the use of persuasive rhetoric, and personal testimonies that function as empirical validation. This authority is subsequently reinforced through the faithful response and active participation of the congregation in healing rituals. This study concludes that divine healing in charismatic preaching is a multidimensional phenomenon encompassing theological, spiritual, and sociological dimensions. This practice not only shapes the authority of leaders but also strengthens the cohesion of the faith community through shared spiritual experience.

Abstract

Generation Alpha is a generation born and raised in the digital world. From a young age, they have been accustomed to gadgets, the internet, and various forms of technology. On the one hand, this progress brings many opportunities, but on the other hand, it also poses serious challenges to character development. Values such as responsibility, patience, and empathy are beginning to be eroded by a culture of instant gratification and digital individualism. Christian education, as a vehicle for shaping faith and values, is called upon to play a relevant role in the character formation of this generation without losing its theological essence. This study seeks to answer the question: how can Christian education shape the character of Generation Alpha in the digital age from a theological and contextual perspective? This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method, examining theological and biblical sources as well as the latest research findings on the younger generation and digitalization. The findings indicate that Christian education remains relevant if it is able to integrate the values of faith with a contemporary approach. Character formation through love, exemplary behavior, and mentoring is key, requiring collaboration among families, churches, and Christian schools. Technology is not a barrier but can be an effective tool when used wisely. This study affirms that amidst the challenges of the digital age, Christian education is not only still needed but is actually a source of hope for shaping a generation deeply rooted in Christian values.

Abstract

The behavior of friends with benefits is an act of sexual immorality that damages the body as the temple of God and the fellowship of the church. FWB behavior often occurs among Gen Z, and this act greatly pollutes human relationships with God and fellow human beings. Using descriptive qualitative research methods and a theological examination of 1 Corinthians 6:12-20 to critique sexual misconduct that is not only committed by the Corinthian congregation but also by Gen Z through non-committal relationships or FWB. Therefore, this study not only explores the message and meaning of the text but also serves as a reference for the church in responding to FWB relationships that are prevalent among Gen Z. The church must respond appropriately because FWB relationships can damage the lives of individuals and the church. Through this phenomenon, the church should not only voice prohibitions but also restore. Therefore, through this study, the biblical text becomes a reference for the church in criticizing such behavior.

Abstract

Digital transformation has significantly altered worship practices within church life, particularly in the way congregants express their faith and participate in worship. Advances in communication technology have driven a shift from physical worship towards more flexible virtual spaces. These changes call for deep theological reflection to ensure that worship practices remain rooted in the essential principles of the Christian faith. The phenomenon of the increasing use of social media in church worship indicates that the digital space has become an integral part of the congregation’s spiritual life. Online worship through live streams, spiritual content, and digital interaction significantly expands the reach of the church’s ministry. However, this phenomenon also presents challenges in the form of distractions, a decline in the quality of engagement, and a tendency towards a consumerist approach to worship. The research findings indicate that digital worship retains its theological legitimacy as long as the relationship of faith, active participation, and orientation towards God are maintained. Furthermore, social media serves as a strategic tool for expanding ministry and building an inclusive community of faith. However, an adaptive pastoral approach is required to preserve the spiritual depth of the congregation. This study aims to analyse the transformation of participation and spiritual experience in digital worship practices from a theological perspective. The method employed is a qualitative approach through a literature review. In conclusion, digital transformation presents both opportunities and challenges for the church in maintaining a balance between innovation and the theological essence of worship. The church is called upon to develop strategies that are contextual and rooted in faith. Thus, digital worship can become an effective means for spiritual growth and the expansion of the church’s ministry.

Abstract

The family is the first institution established by God as an expression of His love; however, the fall of humanity into sin since the time of Adam and Eve has damaged the relationship between humans and God and has impacted family life up to the present day. The phenomenon of many Christian families no longer making God the center of their lives, marked by the absence of a family altar, has resulted in weakened spirituality and direction in the lives of family members. This study aims to describe how God is present to save the family based on Matthew 1:21-24 and its implications for Christian families. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach through literature study from relevant books and scientific journals. The results show that God's presence in the family is the core of salvation, and the establishment of a family altar is a crucial aspect in shaping spiritual life and saving Christian families.
