Abstract

Efficient data compression techniques are required to minimize storage and processing overhead due to modern systems' growing amount of data. Huffman Coding is a lossless compression technique that maintains data integrity by assigning shorter bit codes to characters appearing frequently, reducing size. Our analysis focuses on two implementation methodologies: greedy technique and divide and conquer. To find efficient solutions, divide-and-conquer algorithms partition problems into smaller components. In contrast, greedy algorithms strive to attain the utmost attainable result at each level. Our extensive investigation centers on the timing and space intricacies of diverse methodologies, enabling a comparative analysis that underscores their respective merits and drawbacks.

Abstract

Wireless networks better known as WiFi (Wireless Fidelity) are often used as a medium for exchanging data, for example: the internet. Each WiFi is equipped with an identity so that users can connect. This identity is known as SSID (Service Set Identifier). In this research, the focus is on assembling the SSID sensor which aims to detect the SSID as well as connect the SSID. So if the connection is successful, the light will be on. This happens because the lamp is connected to an electricity source, and vice versa, the lamp goes out because the lamp is not connected to an electricity source. The description of the system created consists of an input part and a process part, namely the ESP-01 which is capable of providing WiFi, and an output part, namely the relay. From controlling the light conditions, it was found that the average time required to change conditions from on to off was 3.052 seconds and the average time required to change conditions from off to on was 3.036 seconds.

Abstract

SolarWinds is a software company based in the United States that provides IT monitoring and management tools. Founded in 1999, SolarWinds offers a variety of products that help organizations manage networks, systems, IT infrastructure, applications and cloud-based services. SolarWinds products are used for performance monitoring, log management, IT security, and data analysis. The company became widely known after a major cybersecurity incident came to light in late 2020, in which their network management software, Orion, was used as a vector for attacks by a state-backed hacking group. These attacks affected many organizations, including government agencies and private companies, and led to an increased focus on software supply chain security. This paper has reviewed stages, Implications, and mitigation strategies of SolarWinds.

Abstract

The development of technology that is so advanced has a real effect on human life. Libraries can also take advantage of this technological advancement, by building a website-based library information system.  The SDN library 101826 still managed manually, this is very inefficient, because in addition to wasting paper, data is inaccurate, archiving is not neatly organized and messy. When employees want to find borrowed books, they have to check and search manually. It is very draining of energy and time, because many books are lost because it is not known who the borrower of the book is. Based on these problems, the author provides a solution by building a library information system at the elementary school based on the web. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, and literature studies. Meanwhile, the system development method uses Waterfall, and in its design utilizes Unified Modeling Language. The programming language used in coding is PHP with MySQL database. This research requires a library information system that can help library officers in carrying out their activities. The system that has been built can speed up, make it easier and more efficient for visitors in the book search process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the level of utilization of the village fund budget in Dolok Maraja Village, Simalungun Regency. Descriptive quantitative method with Multiple Linear Regression analysis was used to achieve the objective. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the independent variable (village fund budget) and the dependent variable (the utilization rate of the village fund budget). The factors that most influence the utilization rate of the village fund budget are population, area, and poverty level. Implication of The implication of this study is that the government should consider these factors in the process of allocating village fund budgets. Villages with larger populations, larger areas, and higher poverty rates require larger budget allocations to ensure effective and efficient village development. In addition, the importance of good governance of village fund budgets and active community participation in the process of planning and implementing village development is also highlighted in this study. Specifically, this study shows that every year, the utilization rate of the village fund budget increases by an average of 6.5632. Meanwhile, each increase in the number of poor people and the Village Fund Ceiling decreases and increases the utilization rate of the village fund budget by an average of 2.6104 and 3.7433, respectively. Village area did not have a significant effect. Although this regression model has low explanatory power, it is statistically valid and fits the observed data. This research highlights the importance for the government to consider the factors of population, area, and Village Fund Ceiling in allocating the village fund budget, as well as improving governance and community participation in village development.

Abstract

According to surveys, the rise in social media users has resulted in an increase of hate speech, and Twitter is one of the most popular platforms for this type of speech. The tweet feature on Twitter enables users to make repeated instances of hate speech, making Twitter data very intriguing to analyze. This study aims to investigate whether a tweet contains hate speech towards the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR-RI). The research employed crawling techniques to gather data from Twitter using the Twitter API feature. The Naïve Bayes algorithm was applied, and the results were compared with the accuracy of the K-Nearest Neighbor. After preprocessing, the total data obtained was 1,494, with 956 test data and 538 training data. The study revealed that Twitter users' sentiment towards DPR-RI was 49.2% positive and 50.8% negative sentiment when tested using Naïve Bayes. Meanwhile, KNN showed 23.4% positive and 76.6% negative sentiment. The high negative sentiment in both classifiers suggests that Twitter users frequently express hate speech towards DPR-RI. Naïve Bayes algorithm showed the highest prediction accuracy at 98.32%, while the K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm had an accuracy of only 62.84%.

Abstract

The film industry plays a crucial role in the global economy and popular culture, realizing creative outcomes through complex processes involving production to marketing. This research analyzes the factors influencing the success of the top 200 films at the Box Office in 2023 using linear regression. Independent variables such as film ratings, number of theaters, and distributors are examined in relation to total gross revenue. The dataset processed for this research consists of 200 data points specifically for the year 2023, sourced from Kaggle and processed with Python in Google Colab. The analysis revealed that films with a rating of 7.0 and above averaged a total gross revenue of approximately $100 million, while those rated below 7.0 averaged around $50 million, indicating a negative correlation between film ratings and gross revenue. Additionally, films shown in an average of 2,000 theaters grossed approximately $150 million, demonstrating a positive correlation between the number of theaters and gross income. The analysis also indicated that films distributed by major companies tend to have higher grosses, with the top distributors achieving an average gross of $120 million compared to $70 million for smaller distributors. Nonetheless, this analysis highlights the complexity of other factors influencing a film's success. Further research is needed for a better understanding. The relevance of these findings for the film industry lies in supporting strategic decision-making and the development of more sophisticated analytical methodologies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using an Android mobile application in the new student admission system at a vocational school. The application is designed to replace the manual registration methods, which were previously conducted through Google Forms and WhatsApp communication. By integrating push notifications using Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) and a MySQL database, the system enables real-time communication between administrators and prospective students, as well as the automation of admission data management. The Time Efficiency method is used to measure the time saved in the registration and notification process compared to the manual method. Meanwhile, the Cost-Benefit Analysis method is applied to evaluate the ratio between the system implementation costs and the benefits produced, such as reduced operational costs, increased registration speed, and improved administrative staff efficiency.
