Abstract

The utilization of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, especially in remote areas, is still relatively low, even though the technology is required to implement smart farming or smart villages, which aims to improve the quality of life of people in rural areas. The high investment cost for IoT networks that still use cellular networks or Wi-Fi is one of the causes of the slow implementation of this technology. Our previous research has developed an alternative network for IoT devices in remote areas with the concept of a Tandem Multihop Wireless Network focusing on developing simple message scheduling. This research focuses on implementing ad-hoc routing protocols in tandem with multi-hop wireless to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the protocol. Each sensor periodically sends data to the monitoring server via IoT devices on each tower. The scenario was implemented using MININET-WIFI. Evaluations were carried out to determine delivery probability, latency average, and jitter. In general, the two Ad-Hoc protocols tested, namely OLSR and BATMAN, had the same performance when the data sent was 1 MB, but when the data size was increased to 2 MB, the OLSR routing protocol on several nodes had better performance than BATMAN.

Abstract

Vending machines can be used as a solution to overcome losses for selling and make the payment system easier. This study aims to design a snack vending machine with payment system using an Android-based QR Code scan application in which there is a balance as electronic money. In the payment application there is also an admin account to top up balances and view sales history, making it easier for sellers to monitor sales results. This snack vending machine uses ESP32 to store data as well as transmit data from every activity that occurs. There are 4 types of snacks in this vending machine. Selection of the type of snack using the Keypad and to regulate the release of the snack using a servo motor connected to a spiral wire. 16x2 LCD to display data and an Infrared Avoid Obstacle sensor to stop the servo from rotating when it detects food falling in front of it. Testing on a snack vending machine using a QR Code was carried out by trying to purchase 4 types of snacks, with each trial 10 times. The whole test is successful, the tool can issue snacks and transactions on the payment application run properly.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Follow-Up Monitoring Information System (SIPTL) of the Supreme Audit Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK RI) based on the HOT Fit Model. Evaluation is focused on external SIPTL or from the auditee side. This research is qualitative research with a case study approach, and the object of the research is the Inspectorate of Majene Regency, West Sulawesi. Evaluation is carried out on human aspects (system use and user satisfaction), organization (organizational structure), and technology (system, information, and service quality). In the human aspect of human resources (HR) management, it shows the suitability of the field of experience, knowledge, and competence. In the organizational aspect, controlling access rights is very good in the form of passwords for each admin and SIPTL inputer. In terms of technology, the speed of access between pages and the addition of features in the SIPTL application is very high. Thus, in general, the external SIPTL application at the Majene Regency Inspectorate has been effective based on the HOT Fit Model. The disadvantages of SIPTL at this time are the absence of regular training for users, communication with users that has not been running optimally, the absence of regular password changes, and the absence of regular application updates. Further research is recommended to evaluate the internal SIPTL, namely from the perspective of BPK RI as a user and the addition of research objects as a comparative analysis.

Abstract

Pineapple fruit is a type of horticultural plant that has the potential to be developed. In the process of pineapple cultivation, it is very susceptible to pests and diseases. Diseases that often attack pineapples such as; wilt disease, stem base rot, fusariosis, bacterial rot, and urethral disease. The process of identifying pineapple diseases is often done manually so it takes a long time. In addition, in the process of controlling pests and diseases, farmers only spray pesticides or other handling techniques that are not suitable for the pests and diseases that attack them. Thus, the treatment is not optimal and has an impact on the emergence of new pests and diseases in pineapple. Currently, computer technology can be used in various branches of science, one of which is artificial intelligence. The expert system is a scientific branch of artificial intelligence that can solve problems. The purpose of this research is to assist farmers in identifying pests and diseases in pineapples so that the control process can be carried out optimally, quickly, and on target. The implementation of an expert system uses the Case Base Reasoning (CBR) method which will produce a diagnostic similarity value and provide recommendations for diseases that attack. This research processes data in the form of symptoms seen in pineapple plants. The test results obtained a percentage of 100%. Thus, the application of the CBR method is very relevant in identifying pests and diseases of pineapple plants.

Abstract

When designing a wireless sensor network based on ZigBee, it is very important to choose the right network topology, especially in networks with many nodes such as residential areas. Choosing the wrong topology will have an impact on the performance of the wireless sensor network as a whole because it will cause a large delay value. To overcome this, in this study a ZigBee-based wireless sensor network simulation was carried out using an environmental model consisting of several residential units, with one ZigBee device for each house. In addition, three ZigBee network topologies namely mesh, star, and tree are used in this simulation. This is done to determine which topology model will work best in a residential environment. The housing used for the simulation in this study is Citraland Waterfront City Housing which is located in Palu City, Central Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. By using simulations in the Opnet Modeler 14.5 application, it is known that the star topology on the ZigBee network is suitable for application in residential areas with a large number of nodes. This can be seen from the highest throughput values and the lowest media access delay, end-to-end delay, hop number, and packet dropped values compared to tree and mesh topologies.

Abstract

This paper discusses control mass-spring-dumper (MSD) system used in vehicle suspensions. The vehicle suspension consists of mass, coil (spring), and shock absorber (dumper). MSD provided a shock effect when the vehicle was caused by the frictional force on the load. The dificulty to achive the stability of suspension and the following of set point tracking. Therefore, the proportional-integral-derivative (PID) based on tuning 1-degree of freedom (1-DOF) and 2-degree of freedom (2-DOF) were proposed to stability when the disturbance accours. The MSD equation was obtained by using the laplace transform and validated in Matlab Simulink. The result shows that the proposed PID control reduces disturbance rejection by the smaller set point tracking peak amplitude of 0.01, overshoot of 0.68%, rise time of 0.199 seconds. The 1-DOF tuning achieved set point tracking and disturbance rejection with a peak amplitude of 1.13, overshoot 12.9%, rise time 0.134 seconds, and the 2-DOF tuning achived set point tracking and disturbance rejection with peak amplitude of 1.07, overshoot 6.53%, rise time 1.28 seconds. The proposed PID control has the best performance than 1-DOF and 2-DOF controller.

Abstract

Toko Snack Fajar Jaya was a store that sold snacks in both bulk and retail. The store's current system still relied on manual bookkeeping, causing errors and uncertainties in data management and sales reports. To solve these problems, a mobile application called Mi-POS was developed using React Native to facilitate the development process. The application could record transactions, view transaction history, manage product inventory, and print receipts. The SDLC method was used in developing the application, and it was tested using Black-box Testing and the System Usability Scale (SUS) to evaluate its quality and effectiveness. Results from Black-box Testing showed that all features ran smoothly with an error rate of 0%. Meanwhile, SUS testing showed a score of 63.4, which falls in the "OK and usable" category.

Abstract

Institut Teknologi Sumatera (ITERA) is one of the new PTN campuses in Indonesia. As a campus that carries the smart-campus motto, ITERA will continue to create smart services, including saving electrical energy. One of the programs to support a sustainable campus is innovation in electrical energy management so that electrical energy efficiency can be maximized. The ITERA smart-room product called SMARTERA is one of the campus's tangible manifestations to control electrical equipment using Internet-based intelligent control of Things (IoT). The initial stage in this research is automatic control of the two most widely used electrical equipment in the campus environment, namely lights and air conditioning (AC)
