Abstract

Yogyakarta International Airport is a new airport that supports public health policies through the implementation of KTR. The KTR policy at YIA Airport is based on Kulon Progo Regent Regulation No.15 of 2020 concerning Amendments to Kulon Progo Regent Regulation No.3 of 2015 concerning Implementation Guidelines for Kulon Progo Regency Regional Regulation No.5 of 2014 concerning KTR. This policy includes a ban on smoking in any place, there is a special room for smoking, free from cigarette advertisements, and there is an appeal for smoking restrictions. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of the KTR policy at YIA Airport. This research uses qualitative methods, data collection through interviews involving 6 informants consisting of 5 airport visitors and 1 airport manager, data analysis using QDA miner lite. The results showed that all informants supported the KTR policy on the grounds of health and environmental comfort. This support is shown through approval of rule enforcement, sanctions for violators, and the need for more effective socialization. Some informants suggested educative and preventive approaches to reprimand violators, while others emphasized the importance of the presence of supervisory officers. Regarding facilities, designated smoking areas are considered inadequate both in terms of size and number, as well as the lack of information about their location. Visitor and employee awareness of KTR rules varies, with employees considered more compliant than visitors. The majority of informants support the provision of strict sanctions in the form of fines to increase compliance. Conclusion: the KTR policy at YIA Airport is considered an effective step to create a smoke-free environment, but its success requires the support of socialization, adequate infrastructure, and consistent law enforcement. The implication of these findings is as baseline data to support the realization of a healthy airport in Yogyakarta.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world, yet access to clean water remains unevenly distributed. This situation is a critical issue as it affects various aspects of life, including public health and community well-being. The PAMSIMAS program in Kebon Village has been running since 2019, covering 330 household connections and facilitated by the Regional Development Planning Agency (BAPPEDA).Methods: A qualitative method was used, with the results presented in the form of frequency distribution tables. Results: The study showed that the program’s success level was categorized as very good in all aspects, although some issues were noted, including limited water quantity, handwashing with soap practices (HWWS), program implementation challenges, and limited operational funding. Conclusion: The implementation of the PAMSIMAS program in Kebon Village is considered very good but still requires improvements in technical aspects and budgetary support. Abstract

Social media has become an integral part of adolescents' daily lives and is regarded as a crucial aspect of their social environment. Due to its pervasive use, social media holds great potential as an educational platform, particularly for increasing awareness and knowledge of mental health. Mental health literacy among adolescents is essential to enable early detection of psychological problems and encourage timely help-seeking behavior. This study aimed to examine the effect of social media as an educational tool on improving adolescents’ knowledge of mental health. A quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach was employed, involving 30 adolescent participants selected through purposive sampling. The intervention consisted of educational content on mental health delivered over 14 days via WhatsApp, TikTok and Instagram. A structured knowledge questionnaire was administered before and after the intervention to measure changes in understanding. Data analysis using paired sample t-test revealed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge scores from a pretest mean of 63.3 to a posttest mean of 82.7 (p = 0.000). The results suggest that mental health education delivered through social media is effective in enhancing adolescents' knowledge. Therefore, social media can serve as a strategic, accessible, and engaging platform for mental health education and promotion targeted at youth.
