Abstract

Hypertension is a condition where systolic blood pressure ≥ 140 mmHg and diastolic pressure ≥ 90 mmHg. In general, hypertension does not provide typical complaints and symptoms so that many sufferers are not aware of it. Therefore, hypertension is said to be the silent killer. This study aims to determine the factors related to the incidence of hypertension in young adults. The method used was descriptive quantitative with a cross sectional design, data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 66 respondents who visited the general clinic of Pasar Ikan Health Center in Bengkulu City, the sampling technique used purposive sampling. The results of the univariate test analysis that most of the respondents (56.1%) were aged 18-40 years, most of the respondents (66.7%) had a family history, most of the respondents (57.6%) did not smoke and most of the respondents (56.1%) were hypertensive. Bivariate analysis results Age gets a p value (0.620) which shows no correlation, family history gets a p value (0.035) which shows there is a correlation, smoking habits get a p value (0.804) which shows no correlation. Researchers suggest that the Pasar Ikan Health Center be able to provide services and provide counseling on factors related to the incidence of hypertension.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of the work environment and internal communication on employee performance at the Office of Supervision and Customs Service Type Madya Pabean B Bandar Lampung, which plays a vital role in the country’s economy. While the office maintains satisfactory cleanliness and organization, issues such as inadequate ventilation, poor lighting, and limited break room facilities disrupt employee comfort and productivity. Additionally, ineffective internal communication, characterized by untimely information and a lack of interdepartmental collaboration, hinders performance. This research aims to identify these issues and develop strategies to enhance employee performance, ultimately optimizing the office's role in the national economy. This study aims to provide a systematic and accurate presentation of specific population facts through quantitative field research. Conducted at the Office of Supervision and Customs Service Type Madya Pabean B Bandar Lampung, this research investigates the effects of the Work Environment and Internal Communication on employee performance. Out of a total of 29 employees, 28 are used as a sample after excluding one from the population. The independent variables are Work Environment (X1) and Internal Communication (X2), while the dependent variable is Employee Performance (Y). The research will take place from May to June 2024 using a descriptive quantitative approach. The study concludes that the Work Environment significantly affects the performance of employees at the Office of Supervision and Customs Service Type Madya Pabean B Bandar Lampung, contributing 17.6%, thus confirming the first hypothesis. Internal Communication also has a significant impact on employee performance, contributing 11.3%, leading to the acceptance of the second hypothesis. Furthermore, both the Work Environment and Internal Communication together provide a significant influence on employee performance, with a total contribution of 58.0%, validating the third hypothesis.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model can improve student activity and learning outcomes in class 7g of SMP Negeri 7 Bengkulu City. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted in two cycles because it had achieved the indicators of successful action. The indicator of the success of this study is a minimum student learning activity score of 4. The subjects of this study were 32 students of class 7g of SMP Negeri 7 Bengkulu City. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, pretest scores and posttest scores. The results of the study showed that through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model, it can improve student learning activity and outcomes in social studies subjects. This can be seen from: 1) an increase in student learning activity. The average score of student learning activity in cycle I was 144, included in the sufficient category, and in cycle II the average score of student learning activity increased to 571.5, included in the very good category. 2) Judging from the results of the t-test at a significance level of 5% and degrees of freedom of 31, it shows that t count = 16.53 ≥ t table 1.696, meaning that t table is smaller than t count, meaning that there is a significant increase, namely that cycle II is better than cycle.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in improving student learning outcomes in Economics subjects at class X.E9 of SMAN 1 Mukomuko. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method conducted in three cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 32 students, consisting of 11 males and 21 females. Data were collected through observation of student learning activities and learning outcome tests (pre-test and post-test). The results showed that the application of the PBL model effectively enhanced students' learning activity and outcomes. Student activity increased from 79% (cycle I) to 90% (cycle II), and reached 100% (cycle III). The average learning outcomes improved from 77.97 (cycle I) to 82.97 (cycle II), and further to 90.16 ( cycle III). It can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model is effective in enhancing students' learning outcomes at SMAN 1 Mukomuko.
