Abstract

The transformation of the sharia economy through the adaptation of sharia law to global market dynamics represents a significant phenomenon in contemporary economic development. In the current era of globalization, Islamic economics has emerged as a driving force that influences the structure and direction of the global financial system. The main issue addressed in this study is how sharia principles can remain consistent while responding effectively to rapid global market changes. The objective of this research is to explain the process of sharia economic transformation and examine the extent to which the adaptation of sharia law can strengthen financial inclusion, enhance economic stability, and promote sustainable economic growth. This study employs a literature review method, drawing on books and scholarly sources relevant to Islamic economics, global market behavior, and the governance of sharia law. The findings indicate that the transformation of the sharia economy—supported by the adaptation of its legal framework—has led to increased financial inclusion, broader market expansion, and stronger economic resilience. Moreover, the integration of Islamic finance within global markets has contributed to economic stability and fostered a more ethical and socially responsible business environment. The study concludes that transforming the sharia economy through adaptive legal approaches is a crucial step toward achieving inclusive finance, sustainable stability, and social justice. This process enhances the relevance, competitiveness, and long-term viability of the sharia economic system in an evolving global market landscape.

Abstract

Sharia economic development faces epistemological challenges in responding to global changes and the growing demand for more inclusive and sustainable development models. The misalignment between the foundational pillars of Islamic economics and current planning practices highlights the need for a reinterpretation of development concepts. This study aims to examine the evolution of meaning and identify emerging paradigms in Sharia economic development, while reconstructing the relationship between its core pillars and strategic planning approaches. Employing a conceptual literature review method, the study systematically analyzes scholarly works from diverse primary and secondary sources. The findings reveal a shift from legal-normative interpretations toward value-based paradigms rooted in maqashid al-shariah and sustainability. Newly identified paradigms include spiritually-driven welfare development, structural justice, and the integration of maqashid with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This study contributes to the theoretical enrichment of Islamic economic development and provides a conceptual foundation for more contextual and transformative policy design.

Abstract

he rapid transformation of e-commerce into a digitally based system has intensified competition among online sellers, requiring innovative marketing strategies to attract consumer interest. One prominent strategy is affiliate marketing, where affiliators promote products through digital platforms and social media. However, the growing use of affiliate marketing raises questions regarding its alignment with Islamic economic principles, particularly in ensuring transparency, fairness, and ethical promotion. This study aims to analyze the role of affiliate marketing in increasing consumer interest in online shopping and to examine its relevance from a Sharia economics perspective. The research employs a qualitative approach using internet searching and library research methods, collecting data from academic journals, scholarly articles, and relevant online references. The findings indicate that affiliate marketing plays a significant role in enhancing consumer interest and influencing purchasing behavior through persuasive promotion, wider market reach, and increased product visibility. From a Sharia economics perspective, affiliate marketing can be considered permissible when it adheres to principles of honesty, transparency, and mutual benefit. This study contributes to the development of Islamic digital marketing literature by providing a conceptual framework that integrates affiliate marketing practices with Sharia economic values, thereby offering guidance for ethical and sustainable online business practices in the contemporary digital economy.

Abstract

Productive waqf represents a strategic Islamic economic instrument rooted in the principles of justice, equity, and social solidarity. However, its contemporary implementation often remains limited to symbolic and consumptive uses. This article explores the potential of productive waqf to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by employing an interdisciplinary approach that bridges Islamic legal thought (fiqh) and development studies. Utilizing the framework of maqashid al-shariah (the objectives of Islamic law), the study identifies conceptual parallels between Islamic social finance and global development priorities. The analysis reveals that productive waqf can serve as an ethical and transformative alternative to both global capitalism and religious extremism by promoting inclusive economic empowerment and equitable asset redistribution. The article concludes by advocating for the reinterpretation of Islamic legal discourse and the institutional reform of waqf governance to align with the goals of sustainable and just development

Abstract

Primary education constitutes an essential foundation for human capital development and serves as a central catalyst for socio-economic mobility within society. This study aims to comprehensively analyze cultural preferences, academic expectations, and the community’s purchasing power (Willingness to Pay) regarding primary school models in the Genteng, Glenmore, and Kalibaru areas of Banyuwangi Regency. Using a quantitative approach through a field survey method, the study involved 100 parent respondents. The findings reveal a market anomaly and polarization that leave a gap within the middle segment (the “Missing Middle”). The data indicate the dominance of lower-middle-income groups (87.78%) characterized by single-income households, which set the monthly tuition fee (SPP) affordability threshold at an equilibrium point of IDR 50,000–100,000 (85.56%). A striking paradoxical finding emerges: while 64.44% of respondents aspire to high-quality school models (Islamic Integrated Primary Schools/Islamic boarding schools) with a primary focus on moral and character development (93.33%), 71.11% empirically reject a full-day school system and instead prefer a half-day schedule. These findings underscore the urgency of establishing a “middle-path” educational institution capable of deconstructing an integrated curriculum into an efficient time structure (Half-Day Integrated School), supported by financial engineering schemes such as installment-based payment systems (92.22%), as well as the provision of school transportation services to mitigate geographical barriers and parents’ psychographic concerns

Abstract

Lombok chili (Capsicum annuum L.) is one of Indonesia’s leading horticultural commodities with high economic value and an important role in supporting food security and rural livelihoods. However, its productivity is often constrained by climate variability, limited water availability, pest attacks, and the low adoption of modern cultivation technologies. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of greenhouse innovation in improving the cultivation performance of Lombok chili in the agricultural business unit of a Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes). For illustration purposes, this study employed an empirical quantitative approach with an observational design involving 60 chili plants divided into two treatment groups: greenhouse cultivation and open-field cultivation, over a period of 12 weeks. The observed parameters included plant height, leaf number, temperature, humidity, and fruit yield per plant. Data were analyzed using an independent samples t-test at a 5% significance level. As an illustrative example, the results showed that chili plants cultivated in the greenhouse achieved an average plant height of 68.4 ± 5.3 cm, significantly higher than those grown in the open field (55.7 ± 6.1 cm, p < 0.001). The average number of leaves increased by 24.8%, while fruit yield per plant increased from 31.6 ± 4.8 to 42.9 ± 5.5 fruits, representing an improvement of approximately 35.8% compared with conventional cultivation (p < 0.05). The implementation of a greenhouse system equipped with drip irrigation, temperature and humidity monitoring, and liquid organic fertilizer application created a more stable microclimate, thereby enhancing vegetative growth and crop productivity. These findings indicate that greenhouse innovation has strong potential as an effective and sustainable cultivation strategy to support technology-based agricultural development in Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes).

Abstract

Collaboration is part of many companies' strategic alliances. Collaboration offers opportunities to leverage external capabilities and develop routines that can further enhance competitive advantage. Cooperation is an effective strategic tool to promote sustainable development. This research aims to conduct a literature review regarding the exploration of the concept of collaboration in Islamic boarding school economics. The research method used in this work is the SLR (Systematic Literature Review) method. Data collection is carried out by documenting all articles that have similar research in a research report. This research used 16 national journal articles taken from the Google Scholar database. Based on this research, it was found that the concept of collaboration in the economic sector has been widely discussed in several economic sectors. Such as tourism, MSMEs, economic recovery, business, financial institutions and cooperatives, economic education. Meanwhile, in the economic context of Islamic boarding schools, one article was found, namely about the implementation of the collaboration concept at the Darul Quran Mulia Islamic boarding school using a collaboration model with PT. Blessing Group. The use of collaboration in the economic system, especially the Islamic boarding school economy, can be developed as a strategic consideration for the Islamic boarding school economy in the future.

Abstract

The Islamic social finance sector (Zakat, Infaq, Alms, and Waqf) holds profound theoretical and practical significance as an alternative financing instrument to accelerate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, optimizing its impact is often hindered by issues of institutional accountability and low public trust. This study aims to map publication trends, identify the construction of financial transparency protocols, and formulate a model linking Islamic social finance governance to the achievement of SDG target indicators. The method employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) adopting the PRISMA 2020 protocol. Through Publish or Perish (PoP) software utilizing Google Scholar and Dimensions databases, an initial population of 600 documents from the 2020–2025 period was retrieved. Following a rigorous set of inclusion and exclusion criteria—including restricting documents strictly to full-text peer-reviewed journal articles and eliminating conventional public sector studies (village funds)—28 core journal articles were selected for in-depth analysis. The results conclude that financial transparency acts as a crucial enabler that mediates the relationship between sharia compliance and the restoration of public trust. The revival of trust correlates positively with the aggregate growth of public fund collection, which in turn optimizes distribution efficiency to fund SDG pillars precisely, particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 6 (Clean Water), SDG 8 (Decent Work), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).

Abstract

The agricultural sector is a crucial macroeconomic pillar; however, financing stagnation frequently occurs due to the rigid fund allocation of formal institutions. Islamic economics offers profit-sharing schemes as a solution. This study analyzes the operational mechanism of informal mudharabah contracts in Arok Village, Bangkalan Regency, its impact on farmers' welfare, and its supporting and inhibiting factors. Utilizing a qualitative phenomenological approach, primary data were collected through in-depth interviews with 12 key informants (mudharib, shahibul maal, and community leaders) from October 2025 to April 2026. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. Results indicate that mudharabah operates in an informal-communitarian realm via oral contracts without physical collateral. Risks from absent written documents are adaptively mitigated through local social capital—specifically asymmetric trust and communal sanctions to suppress moral hazard. This partnership enhances farmers' economic and spiritual welfare through fair income distribution and freedom from middlemen. However, sustainability remains hindered by limited local investor capital and low Islamic accounting literacy among farmers. Scientifically, this study contributes by reconstructing a social capital-based agrarian risk mitigation model as a substitute for material collateral. Institutional reconstruction via synergy with Farmers' Waqf Banks or Islamic cooperatives is recommended.
