Abstract

.  Technological development and innovation play an important role in driving economic growth in various countries, including those with predominantly Muslim populations such as Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the influence of technological development on economic growth, examine the role of innovation in enhancing the competitiveness of the Islamic economy, and identify the opportunities and challenges of utilizing technology in the economic activities of Muslim communities in Indonesia. The research employs a qualitative approach through a literature review of various scholarly journal sources. The findings indicate that digital technology significantly contributes to increased productivity, economic efficiency, and expanded market access for businesses, particularly Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). In addition, innovations in the Islamic financial sector, such as Islamic fintech, have improved financial inclusion among the public. However, several challenges remain, including low levels of digital literacy, disparities in technological infrastructure, and the need for effective supervision to ensure that technological applications remain consistent with Islamic principles. Therefore, collaboration among the government, private sector, and society is essential to maximize the benefits of technology and innovation in achieving inclusive and sustainable economic development.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of contracts (akad) and Sharia principles in banking products at PT BPRS Berkah Dana Fadhlillah. The rapid development of Islamic financial institutions requires alignment between theoretical concepts and their practical implementation, particularly in the use of contracts and the application of Sharia principles. However, there are still public doubts regarding the Islamic financial system, especially in distinguishing between profit margins and interest. Therefore, this study is important to determine the extent to which contracts and Sharia principles are applied in actual banking products. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that the implementation of contracts and Sharia principles in banking products at PT BPRS Berkah Dana Fadhlillah has been carried out in accordance with theoretical concepts. Financing products such as murabahah, ijarah, istisna’, and musyarakah are implemented using clearly defined contracts that are agreed upon at the beginning of the transaction. In addition, Sharia principles such as justice, transparency, and partnership have been applied in the bank’s operations. In conclusion, the implementation of contracts and Sharia principles at PT BPRS Berkah Dana Fadhlillah is consistent with theoretical frameworks, although challenges remain in terms of public understanding. This study is expected to contribute to the development of Islamic financial institutions and serve as a reference for future research.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to various economic sectors, including cooperatives as one of the pillars of the people’s economy in Indonesia. Cooperatives, which have long been known for their principles of mutual cooperation and shared welfare, are required to adapt to technological developments in the Society 5.0 era. This study aims to analyze the opportunities, challenges, and strategies for cooperative transformation toward the digital era in order to improve their competitiveness and contribution to the national economy. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach through a literature study of various journals, scientific articles, and reliable sources related to cooperative digitalization and Society 5.0. The results of the study indicate that digital transformation can help cooperatives improve operational efficiency, expand market access, enhance member service systems, and create transparency in financial management. However, the transformation process still faces various obstacles, such as low digital literacy, limited technological infrastructure, lack of funding, and resistance to change. Therefore, an integrated strategy is needed through improving digital literacy, strengthening cooperation with the government and private sector, developing digital business models, and providing regulatory support that promotes cooperative transformation in the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

The capital market plays a vital role in the economy, where capital structure serves as an important indicator influencing investor perception and stock price stability, particularly in the case of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk following its merger. This research aims to describe the development of capital structure and stock price movements, as well as to interpret the tendency of the relationship between the two. The method applied is descriptive quantitative, utilizing secondary data from annual reports and capital market data. The analysis technique includes calculating the debt-to-equity ratio and observing stock price trends narratively. The results indicate that the company's capital structure is relatively stable, with the ratio fluctuating in the range of 2.02 to 2.47 times. On the other hand, stock prices showed dynamic and fluctuating movements throughout the observation period. Further analysis reveals that changes in capital structure do not always move in line with stock price movements, indicating the influence of external factors such as market sentiment and macroeconomic conditions. The implications of these findings suggest that management should continue to optimize the balance of funding to minimize financial risk, while also advising investors not to rely solely on capital structure ratios, but to consider other fundamental factors in making investment decisions.

Abstract

Saudi Arabia is a country that uses the Qur’an and Sunnah as the foundation of its constitution, which makes Islamic teachings significantly influential across various sectors of life, including the economic sector. This study aims to analyze the influence of Islamic teachings on the development of the Saudi Arabian economy and examine how the country addresses the challenges of modernization and economic globalization. The research employs a library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach. The findings indicate that Islamic teachings play a central role in shaping economic policies in Saudi Arabia, guiding both regulatory frameworks and development directions. However, the country’s strong dependence on the oil and gas sector has become a major structural challenge in achieving sustainable economic growth. In response, the Saudi government has implemented economic reforms through the Vision 2030 program, which is designed to diversify the national economy beyond oil dependency. These reforms reflect a strategic effort to balance the preservation of Islamic values with the need to adapt to global economic changes and modernization demands. Overall, the study highlights the dynamic interaction between religious principles and economic transformation in Saudi Arabia’s development strategy.

Abstract

The development of Islamic financial institutions has encouraged the increased use of sale-based financing contracts as an alternative financing system in accordance with Islamic principles. This study aims to analyze the management of sale-based financing and the implementation techniques of bai' al-murabahah, as-salam, and istishna' contracts in both consumer and productive financing. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method through a literature review by reviewing various literature related to Islamic financing. The results show that murabahah financing is more widely used to meet consumer needs because it provides price certainty and profit margins. Meanwhile, as-salam and istishna' contracts are more widely applied in productive sectors such as agriculture, trade, and the manufacturing industry. The implementation of good financing management includes the planning stage, feasibility analysis, contract implementation, supervision, and resolution of problematic financing. With proper management, sale-based financing can improve community welfare and support the development of the Islamic economy..

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the risk management strategies in the production of natural dye batik at the Ciwaringin Batik Cooperative, Cirebon Regency. Ciwaringin Batik is recognized as one of the batik production centers that utilizes natural dyes derived from various plants, giving it significant cultural and environmental value. However, the production process of natural dye batik faces several risks, including color quality inconsistency, limited availability of natural raw materials, weather changes affecting the drying process, and limited workforce skills. These challenges may hinder business sustainability and the cooperative’s competitiveness. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation studies to identify risk sources and management strategies. The findings indicate that production risk management is implemented through the diversification of raw material sources, enhancement of artisans’ skills through training programs, application of standard operating procedures (SOPs), and strengthening collaboration among the cooperative, farmers supplying natural dye materials, and other supporting stakeholders. These strategies effectively minimize potential production disruptions while maintaining the quality of environmentally friendly batik products. Therefore, effective risk management plays a crucial role in supporting the sustainability and development of the natural dye batik business at the Ciwaringin Batik Cooperative.

Abstract

The expansion of retail units by Sharia Financial Services Cooperatives (KJKS) serves as a business diversification strategy to improve members’ welfare. However, this expansion increases exposure to the risk of nonperforming financing (NPF). This study employs a qualitative literature review using secondary data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to analyze financing risk mitigation strategies through a Sharia compliance approach. The findings indicate that the national NPF rate for KJKS remains relatively high and is influenced by weak feasibility analysis and member moral hazard. The role of the Sharia Supervisory Board (DPS), the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) based on DSN-MUI fatwas, and an early warning system are key to risk mitigation. Strengthening Sharia audits by the OJK is recommended to ensure that KJKS retail units remain sound and compliant with Sharia principles.

Abstract

This study aims to map and analyze the development of research on Islamic Rural Banks (BPRS) using a bibliometric approach and a systematic literature review (SLR). BPRS are Islamic financial institutions that play a crucial role in supporting financial inclusion, particularly in the micro and small sectors; however, academic studies on their role and performance remain limited and have yet to be comprehensively documented. This research employs bibliometric methods using software such as VOSviewer to analyze articles published in scientific journals indexed in Google Scholar. The analysis covers publication trends, citation patterns, author collaborations, and the identification of key topics examined within the context of BPRS. Furthermore, an SLR was conducted to delve into key themes such as risk management, efficiency, contributions to the regional economy, and compliance with Sharia principles. The findings indicate that although interest in the BPRS topic has increased in recent years, more in-depth research on service innovation, digitalization, human resources, and corporate governance is still highly necessary. This study provides recommendations for future research directions to strengthen the literature on BPRS and enhance the understanding of its contribution to the development of the Sharia-based economy.
