Aims: Journal of Health Management, Administration and Public Health Policies is an electronic, open-access, double-blind, and peer-reviewed journal in the areas of health promotion, health behavior, and health education. The journal began its publication on June 16, 2023, and it is published two times yearly. It seeks to understand factors at various layers associated with health administration, management, lifestyle, and health-impacting policy. It provides with a platform to find strategies to improve population health status. Scope: The Journal of Health Management, Administration and Public Health Policies covers a broad range of topics including health administration, public health, hospital administration, health policy, health management, health economics, epide­mi­ology, social/ public policy, and community health. Journal of Health Management, Administration and Public Health Policies welcomes papers on the theories and concepts, methodologies, policy formulation, organizational change, as well as social and environmental development, using quantitative or qualitative methods. All of the papers published are freely available as downloadable pdf files.

Abstract

Literacy and numeracy are essential competencies for elementary school students, yet learning is often dominated by conventional methods that limit student engagement. This study implemented an Edutainment-based learning approach using a literacy and numeracy snake and ladder game to improve students’ competencies. Participants were divided into three groups and engaged in gamebased learning activities involving literacy questions and numeracy challenges. The program was evaluated using a pretest–posttest design and observations of student participation. The results showed increased student engagement, enthusiasm, and collaboration throughout the learning process. Higher posttest scores compared to pretest scores indicated improvements in literacy and numeracy skills. Teachers and schools responded positively to the learning media. Therefore, the Edutainment-based literacy and numeracy snake and ladder game is an effective learning strategy to enhance student participation and support literacy and numeracy achievement in elementary schools.

Abstract

Learning environment is a crucial factor in supporting children's comfort and learning effectiveness, particularly in non-formal education settings such as Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an (TPA). Environmental components such as ergonomics, lighting, and noise may influence children’s physical and psychological conditions during learning activities.  A quantitative cross-sectional design was conducted involving 30 children in TPA Al-Munawar Bungo, Indonesia, selected using total sampling. The independent variables were ergonomics, lighting, and noise, while children’s comfort was the dependent variable. Data were collected through direct observation of environmental conditions and a structured questionnaire assessing comfort. Descriptive statistics and bivariate analysis using Chi-Square and Fisher’s Exact tests were applied.  The findings revealed a significant relationship between ergonomics and children’s comfort, while lighting showed a moderate association. Noise was not significantly related to comfort due to its relatively low and non-continuous intensity. Environmental factors, particularly ergonomics, play a vital role in determining children’s comfort in TPA settings; therefore, practical improvements and further studies with larger samples are recommended to strengthen environmental health policies in educational contexts.
