Abstract

This study investigates the transformative impact of digital marketing on consumer communication and behavior, with a focus on tools such as mobile applications, social networks, and electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM). As digital platforms reshape consumer interaction, understanding their collective influence has become critical for businesses aiming to improve engagement and competitiveness, especially within the tourism industry. The integration of personalized, data-driven communication frameworks provides businesses and consumers with unparalleled access to interaction and feedback mechanisms. A mixed-methods approach was employed, incorporating a systematic review of academic literature and primary data collection. The review analyzed peer-reviewed articles published within the past decade to ensure relevance to contemporary digital marketing practices. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with industry professionals in tourism marketing, providing insights into the practical application of digital tools. Additionally, an online survey gathered quantitative data from active consumers on digital platforms, focusing on their preferences and behaviors. Mobile applications emerged as critical for streamlining processes such as booking and feedback collection, with 89% of surveyed users citing increased convenience. Social networks facilitated peer influence and trust-building, with 75% of decisions being shaped by user-generated reviews. eWOM highlighted authenticity as a driver, positively influencing 85% of consumer trust while negatively affecting 62% when feedback was poor. Companies utilizing digital marketing tools recorded a 27% higher customer retention rate than those relying on traditional methods.

Abstract

This study explores the Mahpangngolo tradition, a ceremonial procession integral to celebrations among the people of Enrekang, Indonesia. The tradition symbolizes community participation and reinforces values of politeness and respect. However, younger generations are increasingly disengaged from such cultural practices, threatening their preservation. An ethnographic communication approach was employed, involving observations, interviews, and documentation. Dell Hymes' SPEAKING model (Situation, Participants, Ends, Act Sequence, Key, Instrumentalities, Norms, Genres) served as the analytical framework for understanding the communicative dimensions of Mahpangngolo. The Mahpangngolo procession emphasizes the symbolic exchange of gifts between guests and hosts. This act is marked by the use of formal and polite language, reflecting mutual respect and community cohesion. Specific expressions by guest representatives and celebration family members underscore the cultural significance of respect and politeness. The findings highlight the Mahpangngolo tradition as a medium for transmitting core values of Indonesian society. Addressing the indifference of younger generations requires initiatives to promote cultural understanding and appreciation. The Mahpangngolo tradition embodies politeness and respect, core values that strengthen communal bonds. Efforts to preserve and promote these traditions are vital for maintaining cultural heritage.

Abstract

In the digital era, educational communication psychology plays a pivotal role in shaping interactions among teachers, students, and parents. This study addresses the critical need to understand these dynamics, identify challenges, and explore the potential of technology to enhance learning effectiveness. A library research method was employed, reviewing relevant academic literature on educational communication, psychology, and digital learning to identify patterns, challenges, and opportunities in the digital context. The findings reveal that while technology enhances student engagement through innovative tools, significant barriers, including the digital divide and lack of digital literacy, persist. Psychological theories, particularly those concerning motivation and behavior, are integral to understanding student dynamics in digital education. The study highlights the importance of integrating psychological principles with technology to address challenges such as cognitive overload and disengagement. Effective and inclusive communication strategies must prioritize socio-emotional learning and address inequalities to foster a sustainable learning environment. Education in the digital era requires simultaneous attention to psychological and technological aspects. Institutions must adopt holistic strategies that leverage technology while addressing psychological needs to create equitable and effective learning experiences.

Abstract

The mosque holds a significant role in Islamic culture, serving not only as a place of worship but also as a center for social, political, and cultural activities. Historically, mosques have functioned as venues for education and strategic planning, as seen during the time of the Prophet Muhammad. The Samarinda Islamic Center Mosque, an icon of Islamic culture in East Kalimantan and the second-largest mosque in Southeast Asia, embodies this multifunctionality. This study aims to explore the role of public relations in publicizing and promoting religious programs at the Samarinda Islamic Center Mosque and to identify the media utilized for these efforts. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. A total of 15 informants participated, including 8 public relations staff selected through purposive and snowball sampling techniques and 7 congregation members and visitors chosen via accidental sampling. Data analysis involved condensation, presentation, and conclusion, with validation ensured through interview recordings and photographic evidence. Findings indicate that public relations play a vital role in coordinating program publications and promotions. This includes regular meetings, collaboration with various media outlets, and the use of social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, and websites. Additionally, electronic media like radio and television, as well as traditional materials like banners and posters, are employed to maximize outreach and engagement.

Abstract

The convergence of traditional media with metaverse technology has revolutionized interactive broadcasting by blending immersive experiences with real-time interactivity. This study explores the integration of media convergence and metaverse-driven platforms, highlighting their transformative impact on audience engagement, technological innovations, and the challenges related to infrastructure, cost, and ethical considerations. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining qualitative and quantitative research. A comprehensive literature review established the theoretical foundation, while case studies of metaverse-enabled events, such as virtual concerts and immersive news reports, provided real-world insights. Semi-structured interviews with industry professionals offered expert perspectives on adoption barriers and strategies. Quantitative metrics, including audience retention rates and interaction times, were analyzed alongside industry reports to validate findings. The findings reveal a significant increase in audience engagement, with metaverse-driven platforms achieving 150% longer interaction times and a 20% higher retention rate than traditional formats. Technological enablers, such as VR, AR, Blockchain, and AI, were identified as key drivers of this transformation, facilitating immersive storytelling, secure digital transactions, and personalized content delivery. However, challenges persist, including high infrastructure costs, regional disparities in technological access, and ethical concerns over data privacy and intellectual property disputes. Metaverse broadcasting redefines audience interaction by enabling users to participate actively in content creation and exploration.
