Abstract

Anemia occurs when there aren't enough healthy red blood cells in your body's organs. This condition occurs due to a lack of hemoglobin (an iron-rich protein) which affects the production of red blood cells. Anemia is a health problem throughout the world and currently the prevalence of anemia in adolescents is still high. The impact of anemia on teenagers is a decrease in: productivity, fitness, concentration, and decreased immunity as well as disrupting growth. Lack of knowledge from both children and parents, even community and Health programs created by the government unequally distributed are also the reasons why this problem cannot be resolved. This activity aims to increase knowledge of students at SMA Muhammadiyah 23 Jakarta regarding anemia and to screening anemia by checking hemoglobin levels as an early detection of anemia. The method used is interactive lectures and group discussion. Hemoglobin measured by Point of Care Testing (POCT) method. Data analysis showed that there was a significant difference between before and after providing anemia screening education to students at SMA Muhammadiyah 23 Jakarta (p<0.05) with the average before being given the education being 43 to 83 after the education. Abstract

The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) (2023) states that the population of Indonesia in 2022 will be 275 million people, and 8% (22 million people) of this figure consist of children aged less than 5 years. The child population as the nation's next generation will continue to grow. Therefore, large investments are needed in the fields of health, education and child welfare. The aim of this activity is to carry out early detection of delays in children's growth and development in Sungai Kunyit Hulu Village, Sungai Kunyit District, Mempawah Regency. The method for implementing this community service activity is Child Growth and Development Examination using Denver. The target achievement in this activity is to get an overview of the conditions of child growth and development in Sungai Kunyit Hulu Village, so that a follow-up plan can be determined to overcome this problem. The results of examining children's growth and development using Denver showed that 50% of children experienced suspected growth and development delays and 9% of children could not be tested because the children refused to take the test during the examination. The obstacle to this activity is that the posyandu room is not conducive, so the child does not have freedom during the growth and development examination. Conclusion: The results of the examinations that have been carried out indicate that some children experience suspected delays in growth and development. The participation of parents and cadres as well as village midwives is needed to routinely carry out promotive and preventive activities to improve children's health

Abstract

Worm infection is a disease caused by the transmission of Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH) parasites. Currently, deworming control, especially in rural communities, which involves government control and local health centers in tackling worm infections, is limited. Therefore, strategies are needed to control worm infections. The actions that can be taken to prevent worm infections are promotive and preventive. One of these strategies is realized through the implementation of promotive and preventive measures. The education was conducted on October 13, 2022. The number of participants who attended the counseling was 19 people consisting of Posyandu volunteers and residents of Sungai Kunyit Hulu Village. Based on the results of the questionnaire, an average of 86.32% of participants already knew about worms, symptoms, and characteristics of worms in children, causes, and ways to prevent worms. In addition, the post-test results showed that 94.7% of participants were able to answer correctly questions related to the causes of worms, 100% of participants were able to answer correctly about the characteristics of children infected with worms, 89.47% of participants answered correctly how to prevent worms and 100% of participants answered correctly the actions that must be taken if symptoms of worms are found.
