Abstract

The optimal utilization of fishery resources represents a strategic opportunity to improve the economic well-being of coastal communities. Bandar Negeri Village, located in Labuhan Maringgai District, East Lampung Regency, holds significant potential in milkfish processing. However, its use has so far been limited to fresh or minimally processed products. This community service activity aims to enhance local residents' skills in processing milkfish into value-added products, namely tofu meatball topping (TOBATO) and fish floss, to increase product value and create new business opportunities. The method used is the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, which focuses on strengthening community capacity through hands-on training and continuous mentoring. The results of the activity show improved participants' skills in milkfish processing, which led to increased product sales value and household income. In the long term, this program is expected to strengthen the village's economic independence and promote the sustainable use of fishery resources.

Abstract

The importance of instilling anti-corruption principles early on, especially in secondary schools, underlies this community service activity. Corruption is a serious problem that affects the nation's social, economic and moral order. Therefore, anti-corruption education must be provided to the younger generation as a preventive effort in building a moral character. The purpose of this activity is to improve students' understanding of the concept of corruption, the negative impacts it causes, the different types and forms of punishment, and the factors that cause corruption to emerge in Indonesia. The activity was conducted at TMI Roudlatul Qur'an High School in Metro City, Lampung, especially in class XI.1, with classical learning method. As teaching materials, the Materials were delivered through PowerPoint presentations on the blackboard and explained interactively by the service team in class. This community service activity has achieved its main objective, which is to increase students' understanding and awareness of anti-corruption concepts, impacts, and values, which can be achieved through the educational-participatory approach used. This is demonstrated by the improvement in students' understanding of the definition of corruption, types of corruption, and its negative impacts on social and national life, as seen from students' responses during discussion sessions, Q&A, and educational games. Although students were initially passive at the beginning of the activity, their involvement increased with the use of interactive methods relevant to the characteristics of secondary school students

Abstract

Purpose: The Greenhouse Revitalization activity at MTsN 1 Kota Palangka Raya aims to address the declining function of the school greenhouse as a learning facility and to reduce the accumulation of plastic bottle waste within the school environment. This program is also intended to integrate ethnopedagogical values and enhance students’ ecological awareness in realizing an environmentally conscious school. Methodology: The activity was implemented using a participatory project-based approach involving teachers, students, and the Magang Mengabdi team. The stages included coordination and preparation, material processing, and assembling and installing greenhouse walls made from used plastic bottles. This collaborative approach encouraged active participation from all school members throughout the implementation process. Findings: The results indicate that the program successfully revitalized the greenhouse’s function as a contextual learning medium while fostering students’ environmental awareness through the application of the 3R principles (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). The use of plastic bottles provided functional, aesthetic, and educational value and became a simple innovation model that can be replicated in other schools. The activity also highlighted the essential role of school leadership and collaboration among the school community in supporting SDGs 4, 12, and 13, namely quality education, responsible consumption and production, and climate action.

Abstract

Low political literacy and the limited experience of first-time voters in participating in general elections may reduce the quality of political participation and increase their vulnerability to transactional politics. This condition was also identified among first-time voters in Sukadadi Village, Gedong Tataan District, Pesawaran Regency, who had never received electoral education or socialization. This community service program aimed to improve the political literacy, understanding, and participatory awareness of first-time voters in preparation for the 2024 Simultaneous General Election. The program employed a participatory approach consisting of four stages: planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The activities began with a pre-test to assess participants' initial understanding, followed by educational sessions covering the concept and objectives of general elections, voters' rights and obligations, the significance of first-time voters, voter categories, interactive discussions, and question-and-answer sessions. The results demonstrated an improvement in participants' understanding of fundamental electoral concepts, voters' rights and responsibilities, and the importance of participating actively, rationally, and responsibly in elections. Participants also showed high enthusiasm throughout the activities and developed greater awareness of exercising their voting rights as a constitutional responsibility. These findings indicate that electoral socialization serves as an effective form of political education to enhance political literacy and strengthen the quality of first-time voters' participation in supporting democratic and integrity-based elections.

Abstract

Anti-corruption education is one of the preventive strategies in developing students’ character through the cultivation of honesty, responsibility, fairness, and integrity values from an early age. The persistence of corruption cases in Indonesia highlights the importance of strengthening anti-corruption awareness through interactive and contextual educational approaches. This community service activity aimed to improve students’ understanding and awareness of the urgency of anti-corruption education and encourage the implementation of integrity values in daily life. The activity was conducted at SMP TMII Raudlotul Qur’an involving 15 students of class VIII B using the Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) method. The activity consisted of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The methods applied included interactive material delivery, case-based group discussions, presentation of discussion results, and individual reflection. The results showed that participants actively engaged in all stages of the activity, with participation rates of 100% in material delivery and individual reflection, 95% in group discussions, and 96% in discussion presentations. This activity demonstrates that participatory learning approaches can enhance students’ understanding of the dangers of corruption and the importance of anti-corruption values. Anti-corruption education in schools serves as a strategic effort to develop a generation with strong character, integrity, and awareness to prevent corrupt behavior.
