SWADAYA: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat is an interdisciplinary scholarly journal published by the Nuban Institute. This journal focuses on community service with the primary goal of disseminating conceptual thinking, ideas, and research findings related to various common issues occurring within society. This journal encompasses a variety of activities conducted by various groups in addressing and managing the potentials, obstacles, challenges, and issues present within the community. Service activities also involve participation from the community and partners. The goal of these service activities is to enhance the welfare of the community.

Abstract

This community service aims to address the issues of tourism conditions and promotion faced by Puncak Watu Wayang Tourism, Duwet Gentong, Srimulyo, Piyungan, Bantul, Special Region of Yogyakarta. The method used in this community service activity is participatory observation. The community service team observes and participates in daily activities, interacts with local residents, and records what they see and do. The dynamics of the rehabilitation process and the programs to be implemented in tourism are obtained through this participatory observation method. The result of this development program is an increase in tourist comfort through the improvement of tourist destinations, as well as the Fun Trailing Mobile Remote Control Adventure event, which allows for broader tourism promotion.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve community knowledge about balanced nutrition and medication management through educational interventions conducted on July 7, 2024, with 30 participants from Tanjung Laimeu village. The methods used included interactive lectures, direct demonstrations, and visual media such as posters and brochures. A pre-experimental design with pre-test and post-test measurements assessed knowledge before and after the intervention. The results showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge, with the average score rising from 19.75 to 26.10 and the standard deviation decreasing from 4.100 to 3.700, indicating improved consistency in understanding. A p-value of 0.002 and a t-value of -15.800 confirmed the statistical significance of this change. The education covered basic principles of balanced nutrition, proper medication management, and the application of a healthy diet, proving effective in enhancing community knowledge and awareness. This program could serve as a model for similar interventions in other areas, and for sustainability, ongoing monitoring, enhancement of educational materials, and closer collaboration with relevant parties are recommended.

Abstract

T The purpose of this legal counseling session is to enhance the understanding of students and school staff about bullying behavior, its consequences, and to strengthen their legal awareness. This activity aims to provide comprehensive insights into bullying and its legal aspects, while also motivating participants to actively engage in preventing and addressing bullying cases in the school environment. Methodology: The session used a lecture method, where the speakers from the Community Service Team of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Khairun, presented material on bullying, its various forms, its impacts, and cyberbullying as a current phenomenon. This was followed by a discussion session and an evaluation through a quiz. Findings: The result of this activity was the successful implementation of the legal counseling session on Saturday, April 27, 2024, held at the Al-Khairaat Mosque Complex in Ternate City. The event was attended by 56 students. The speakers delivered material on the types of bullying, both verbal and non-verbal, and its impact on victims. Additionally, legal consequences for perpetrators of bullying were discussed, as well as measures that schools, parents, and students themselves can take to prevent and address bullying.

Abstract

Purpose: This community service activity aims to reduce pain in pregnant and labouring women after birthing ball. Methodology: The methods applied included hands-on training and mentoring by midwives and regular monitoring and evaluation at Puskesmas Purwoharjo Pemalang. This programme encourages families to motivate pregnant women to continue exercising to prepare for a baby's birth. A birthing ball is an exercise method for pregnant women to increase the well-being of mothers and babies. Findings: in the second and third trimester of pregnancy, pregnant women feel less back pain. Mothers entering labour have less pain during contractions. Abstract

  Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan bahaya dan dampak negatif judi online serta mengajak masyarakat untuk berperan aktif dalam menciptakan lingkungan yang bebas dari pengaruh negatif judi online. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah sosialisasi, di mana narasumber dari tim pengabdian  masyarakat Universitas Hamzanwadi yang menyampaikan materi tentang bahaya judi online dan dampaknya.  Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa program ini berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran dan partisipasi dari berbagai kalangan masyarakat terutama remaja dan bapak-bapak rumah tangga. Peserta memahami bahwa judi online akan menimbulkan bahaya terhadap keharmonisan rumah tangga, berdampak negatif pada kesehatan mental, hubungan sosial, dan integritas moral masyarakat. Pemahaman peserta terhadap materi yang disampaikan menandakan efektivitas sosialisasi dalam meningkatkan kesadaran tentang bahaya judi online dan dampaknya

Abstract

This study aims to explore the impact of a visual communication design workshop involving collaboration between teachers and students in Metro City, focusing on enhancing students' technical skills, creativity, and collaborative abilities. The workshop, organized by the Metro Arts Council, involved 10 junior high school teachers, 10 senior high school students, and 10 junior high school students. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, where data were collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires distributed to the workshop participants. The main findings of this study indicate that the collaborative workshop effectively improved students' technical skills in using graphic design software and deepened their understanding of design principles. 85% of students reported feeling more proficient in using design tools, and 78% reported an increase in creativity after attending the workshop. Additionally, 90% of students felt an improvement in their collaborative skills when working in teams. This study also shows that a collaborative learning approach not only enriches students' technical skills but also stimulates their creativity and innovation, as well as enhances their ability to work in groups. Based on these findings, it is recommended to integrate visual communication design workshops into school curricula and provide training for teachers to support more effective collaborative learning.

Abstract

Stunting is a failure in children's growth and development. Stunting is caused by chronic malnutrition that occurs within 1000 days of life. Malnutrition among children under five is one of the main problems of the Indonesian nation because it has an impact on the low quality of human resources. Improved nutrition is needed to avoid these problems for children aged 6-24 months. Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera) have nutrients that can help improve children's nutritional status. The content of macro minerals such as calcium, potassium and phosphorus plays an important role in the growth of bones and teeth, activating nerves and the brain, as well as maintaining heart health. Method: This Community Service Activity uses a demonstration method which aims to promote the method of processing Moringa leaves. We know that Moringa leaves are rich in nutritional content which supports nutritional development, especially for stunted children as additional food at posyandu. Results: During the training, participants participated in the activities enthusiastically.  This was proven by several questions asked by participants regarding how to make Moringa leaf pudding.

Abstract

First-time voters play a crucial role in the success of the 2024 General Election. However, their lack of political understanding and low participation pose challenges to achieving a high-quality democracy. This community service aims to enhance the knowledge and participation of first-time voters in Sukadadi Village, Gedong Tataan District, Pesawaran Regency through the Service Learning method. Activities include election socialization, interactive discussions, and participant comprehension evaluations. The results show a significant increase in political awareness, knowledge, and the willingness of first-time voters to exercise their voting rights in the 2024 election. Thus, political education for first-time voters has proven effective in encouraging active electoral participation and strengthening democratic culture at the local level.

Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to enhance the legal awareness of bank employees, helping them understand their rights and obligations while ensuring compliance with regulations to prevent money laundering and related banking offenses. With the theme Enhancing Legal Understanding on Money Laundering Crime Prevention for Bank Employees in Ternate City, this program is conducted through legal counseling in the form of lectures and discussions. In addition to educating participants on the characteristics of money laundering crimes, it also produces a journal article and an educational poster registered as Intellectual Property with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (Dirjen HKI).The program has successfully increased bank employees' enthusiasm for understanding and identifying potential money laundering activities, as reflected in their active discussions and inquiries.

Abstract

Purpose: This community service activity aims Improving maternal well-being and reducing postpartum morbidity through oxytocin massage. Methodology: The methods used included hands-on training and mentoring by midwives, and regular monitoring and evaluation at the Purwoharjo Pemalang health centre. This program encourages includes training to hone the skills of village midwives in providing midwifery care to pregnant, delivery, and postpartum women with the specific skill of oxytocin massage to increase the well-being of mothers and babies. Findings: Village midwives in Comal Subdistrict, Pemalang Regency, the working area of Puskesmas Purwoharjo Pemalang, have acquired special skills in providing midwifery care using oxytocin massage.
