Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP), agricultural labor, and education on the rural poverty rate in western Indonesia during the 2019-2023 period. Using panel data from 17 provinces and the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) method, the results show that the three independent variables have a negative and significant effect on rural poverty. These findings identify that improving farmers' welfare, optimizing labor in the agricultural sector, and improving education can be effective strategies in reducing poverty in rural areas.

Abstract

Low financial literacy is caused by several factors. Research related to financial literacy in the Management Study Program of the Islamic University of North Sumatra is still rarely conducted so it is necessary to discuss and analyze what factors can influence financial literacy in the study program. This study uses a descriptive research method with the research approach used by the author is quantitative research. This approach uses a quantitative approach because it uses numbers, starting from data collection, data interpretation, and presentation of results. Based on the significance value (Sig.) in the F test, it can be concluded that the hypothesis is accepted. This means that Age (X1), and Parental Education Level (X2) simultaneously (together) have a significant effect on the Financial Literacy variable (Y). Based on the magnitude of the determination coefficient (R Square) of 0.902 or equal to 90.2%. This figure means that the variables Age (X1), and Parental Education Level (X2) simultaneously (together) influence the Financial Literacy variable (Y) by 90.2%. Management study program students are expected to be able to better understand Financial Literacy because this will be knowledge in the future and is also very important for the role of parents. The Adjusted R Square level reached 89.9% and the remaining 10.1% was influenced by other variables outside this regression equation or variables that were not studied or significant

Abstract

This study is conducted to assess the relationship between Good Corporate Governance (GCG) practices and the financial performance of LQ45-listed companies, in which firm size plays a moderating role. A sample of 23 firms, consistently listed in the LQ45 index between 2019 and 2023, was utilized in this study. The selection of companies relied on purposive sampling as the selection technique. The analysis of the data was conducted by utilizing a regression model with a data panel, with the software EViews 13 being utilized for this purpose. The findings of the study demonstrated that independent commissioners contributed positively and significantly to the firm’s return on assets (ROA). Insider share ownership and board size demonstrated no significant impact. Conversely, ROA was adversely and significantly influenced by of the audit committee. The results of the moderation test demonstrate that the correlation between insider ownership and ROA is strengthened, while the correlation between independent board commissioners and ROA is weakened. Moreover, the study determined that the board size and the audit committee were not moderated by return on assets (ROA).

Abstract

This study explores the dual impact of artisanal gold mining on economic livelihood and environmental sustainability in Tedeboe Village, Rampi District, North Luwu Regency. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were gathered through in-depth interviews with four key informants—including the village head and three local miners—and through direct field observation. Data were analyzed using Creswell’s qualitative analysis framework, encompassing coding and thematic development to capture nuanced insights. The findings indicate that artisanal gold mining has significantly improved household income, especially in meeting basic needs and funding education. However, the sector’s informal nature and high dependency expose the community to economic volatility. Moreover, despite limited use of chemicals, awareness of mercury’s environmental and health risks is rising among miners. Environmental degradation, particularly soil and water pollution, alongside potential respiratory hazards, emerges as a critical concern. The study underscores the urgent need for sustainable mining practices, stronger local regulation, and capacity-building through education and economic diversification. These findings advocate for a balanced approach to rural development—one that harmonizes economic benefits with ecological resilience and community well-being.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of Integrated Reporting (IR) in Indonesia based on the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) framework, aiming to evaluate the trends in IR adoption over the past three years and assess the extent to which companies in Indonesia have aligned their reporting practices with IIRC standards. Using content analysis and one-way repeated measures ANOVA, this research examines integrated annual reports of companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2020-2022 period, measuring the quality of IR implementation through a checklist derived from the International Integrated Reporting Framework (IIRF). The findings reveal that IR practices in Indonesia have significantly improved over time, with key dimensions experiencing notable enhancements, including stakeholder relationship, consistency and comparability, operating context, risk, governance, and performance, critical indicators for ensuring transparency and effectiveness in integrated reporting. Furthermore, this study contributes to the development of a matrix or quality checklist for IR, based on a normative interpretation of the IIRF, providing valuable insights into IR implementation in emerging markets, particularly Indonesia, which serves as an interesting case study since previous research has primarily focused on IR adoption in developed regions such as Europe and South Africa. Practically, this study emphasizes the importance for companies to enhance their IR reporting quality by focusing on aspects such as strategic focus and future orientation, connectivity, consistency, reliability, and comparability, thereby ensuring more transparent, accountable, and globally aligned financial and non-financial reporting practices.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine the relationship between budget participation and organizational culture on improving managerial performance in the government sector. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach with PRISMA guidelines, a total of ten relevant national and international scientific articles in the period 2020 - 2025 were analyzed thematically and comparatively. The results showed that budget participation generally contributes positively to managerial performance, especially when supported by an adaptive, collaborative and inclusive organizational culture. Organizational culture plays an important role as a reinforcing factor, which can maximize the effectiveness of the participatory budgeting process. However, there were also variations in results that were influenced by organizational characteristics, leadership styles, and internal cultural readiness. This study concludes that the synergy between participatory systems and organizational culture is a key prerequisite for creating superior managerial performance in government environments. The findings provide strategic implications for policy makers in designing more participatory budget governance and building an organizational culture that supports bureaucratic transformation.

Abstract

Late payment of accounts receivable is a serious challenge that can disrupt the stability of the company's cash flow and financial performance. This study aims to evaluate the role of risk management in minimizing late payment of accounts receivable at PT Alam Mulya, a logistics company in Surabaya. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach, through direct observation, interviews, and documentation during the five-month internship period. The results showed that the company has implemented risk management principles, such as customer identification, setting credit limits, monitoring maturity, and implementing active collection. However, the implementation has not been thorough and consistent, especially in the aspects of using digital systems, documenting credit policies, and applying sanctions for late payments. It was also found that decision interventions based on personal relationships hindered the effectiveness of risk control. This study recommends the implementation of an integrated digital system, the establishment of a written credit policy, and staff training related to risk management and collection. By strengthening comprehensive risk management, the company is expected to improve the efficiency of receivables management and maintain optimal cash flow sustainability.
