Abstract

This is an enumeration of 174 examined spacies and of 11 not examined ones, in 16 genera, collected in or recorded from Thailand. The treatment is largely in the same way as in the 'Florae Siamensis Enume-ratio'. Synonyms and references are given. All examined specimens are listed for each of the 7 provinces of Thailand indicated on a map, and their field notes are recorded. Distribution outside Thailand is given in some detail, and occasionally nomenclatural or other notes are added. In Lepironia 1 species is recognized, in Mupaniu 5, in Hypolyf/ntm 1, in Fuirena 2, in Lipocarpha 2, in H&miearpha 1, in Scirpus 10, in Elco-charis 8, in Fimbristylis 51, in Bulbostylis 3, in Cyperus 53, in Rltyncho-spora 7, in Triocostularia 1, in Schoemis 'I, in Gahnia 1, in Scleria 23. Novelties are Fimbristylis grudlenta var. psilopodu, Scleria biflora ssp. fervuginea, (Ohwi), and Scleria retieuiata (Holtt.). An index to collectors' numbers is given at the end.

Reinwardtia 21(2): 43‒47. — Here we reported two species of Athyrium from Bali for the first time based on herbarium study and field work. We provided morphological description, voucher specimens, and taxonomic note for both species. A key to all the four known species of Athyrium s.l. in Bali was also provided.

Abstract

The seasonal populations and vertical distribution of seed banks in a subtropical rain foirest were assesed. No seasonal variations were indicated in either the species composition or the size of seed bank over a year period. The number of seeds were 550 - 603 m square, and mostly composed of secondari species. This population decreased with increasing soil depths.

Abstract

This paper contains miscellaneous notes on grasses from Malaysia.One genus,21 species, and 26 varieties are described as new.Many reductions to synonyms are made.Eight specific names are recombined under other generic names and 18 names of varieties, too,are recombined without change of rank.One subspecies and 2 varieties are raised to the rank of species, while 15 species are reduced to the rank of varieties.

Abstract

WIDJAJA, E. A. 2020. Notes on Fimbribambusa Widjaja, with a new species from the Lesser Sunda Islands. Reinwardtia 19(1): 55‒59. ‒‒ A new species, Fimbribambusa rifaiana Widjaja from Alor Island (Lesser Sunda Islands), is described and F. soejatmiae Widjaja & Ervianti, previously described contrary to Art. 40.7 of the ICN (2018), is validated. An improved generic concept of Fimbribambusa and an identification key to the Indonesian species are presented.

Abstract

A floristic survey was undertaken in mountains forest of West Sumbawa and some surrounding lower forests, an area of Indonesia receiving limited biological study. Three hundred sixteen species of Angiosperms and ferns were collected from this area in 2004 and 2005. The collection represents 101 families and 234 genera.

Abstract

At various times during the last four years Mr.M.Sachlan,of the Laboratory for Inland Fisheries at Bogor, Java, has sent us collections of freshwater algae from the larger islands of the Indonesian Archipelago,-Borneo, Java and Sumatra.To him we express our sincere thanks for his care and effort in obtaining this material,and for affording us the opportunity of studying it.A report on the algae is in course of preparation, and will be published on completion.During our examination we have encountered some curious cases of dichotypy in a species of Staurastrum, involving four different forms, which, if considered separately, might be thought to belong to four different species. They throw a new light upon the relationship between St. wildemani Gutw.and St. subtrifurcatum var. majus West & West, whose similarity has been noted and commented upon by other authors.(Schmidle, 1902, p. 73; Gutwinski, 1902, p. 605; West & West, 1907, p. 215; Krieger, 1933, p. 209; Rich, 1935, p. 151; Fritsch & Rich, 1937, p. 213).
