Abstract

The dynamic development of the curriculum is essential to addressing the demands of contemporary times and Islamic education. However, the implementation of an independent curriculum, as an effort to simplify the previous one and strengthen the profile of Pancasila students, has not been fully realized in educational institutions, presenting challenges in adapting to current needs. This study aims to innovate the philosophical and theological foundations of aqidah and moral education in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah based on faith. The methodology used is a literature review, collecting data from journals, books, and conferences. The findings reveal that philosophical and theological foundations greatly influence the goals of Islamic education in nurturing individuals with noble character. The formation of tauhid within the family serves as the primary basis for establishing faith, which is a crucial asset in formal education. Teachers play a vital role in delivering materials related to Islamic values using various strategies and methods to integrate knowledge and moral development. By practicing faith in daily life through worship, students can cultivate sincerity in their actions. Therefore, a PAI curriculum grounded in strong philosophical and theological principles can help build morally upright and strong individuals.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the role and influence of epistemological foundations in the development of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum in junior high schools (SMP). The background of this research is based on the importance of the Islamic epistemological foundations in determining the validity and boundaries of knowledge within Islamic teachings, which is crucial to ensure the consistency and relevance of the PAI curriculum with the needs of students. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design involving document analysis and in-depth interviews as data collection techniques. The findings indicate that an understanding of the Islamic epistemological foundations influences the selection of learning materials, the development of teaching methods, and the integration of Islamic values in the PAI curriculum in SMP. The study also reveals challenges in the curriculum implementation, including differing interpretations of Islamic teachings, limited resources, and varying understandings of Islamic epistemology among teachers. The research concludes that a deep understanding of the Islamic epistemological foundations is a critical aspect in developing the PAI curriculum in SMP and requires collaborative efforts between educators, policymakers, and the Islamic community to overcome these challenges and ensure the effectiveness of Islamic religious education in schools. The implications of this study highlight the need for enhanced training and resources for teachers to strengthen the implementation of a curriculum based on the principles of Islamic epistemology.

Abstract

This study explores the challenges in evaluating student needs within Islamic Religious Education (PAI), where current evaluation practices remain poorly structured and insufficient to fully address student needs. The study aims to improve the effectiveness of PAI education by developing more accurate assessments of teacher roles, preparation, and the learning process. Through a qualitative approach and literature review methodology, this research analyzes relevant academic sources to identify gaps in current evaluation practices and potential solutions for enhancing PAI learning. Key findings reveal that a targeted and comprehensive evaluation framework not only helps meet students' educational needs but also fosters their motivation and sincerity in learning. The implications suggest that a more structured evaluation system can enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement in Islamic education. Moreover, environmental factors, including school support and parental roles, are recognized as critical in addressing students' learning needs. Therefore, a comprehensive and focused evaluation approach is expected to offer effective solutions for advancing the PAI education system in the future.

Abstract

Educational planning is a crucial element in achieving desired educational goals at both national and local levels. This study aims to explore the planning process in Islamic education. The methodology used is a literature review, examining various sources such as journals, books, and previous research. This qualitative research design focuses on the analysis and clarification of data obtained from relevant articles and e-books. The key findings indicate that rapid curriculum changes, difficulties in applying knowledge to daily life, and inadequate infrastructure and educational support facilities are significant obstacles in Islamic educational planning. This research provides important contributions to the literature on educational planning, particularly in the context of Islamic education. The study's limitations lie in its literature-based scope, lacking field observations. Future research is expected to address these limitations with empirical studies and deeper analyses. The implications of this study highlight the importance of continuous evaluation and improvement in educational planning to ensure its relevance and effectiveness in facing future challenges.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education carries significant responsibility in instilling religious values. The achievement of national education goals and the objectives of Islamic Religious Education greatly depend on the learning process. This research employs a qualitative approach based on descriptive analysis. The aim of this research is to discuss the analysis of how the constructivist approach can be applied to enhance students' understanding and appreciation of religious values. The findings of this study indicate that through the constructivist approach and its supportive teaching strategies, it is expected that students can improve their understanding and appreciation of religious values. The development of teaching approaches and models should ideally lead to the realization of the objectives of Islamic Religious Education subjects in terms of understanding and appreciating these values.

Abstract

This study evaluates the Aqidah Akhlak curriculum at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, focusing on the appropriateness of approaches, strategies, and teaching methods. Although adapted to curriculum development principles, the curriculum remains a human creation that falls short of divine perfection. The primary focus is on the Aqidah Akhlak subjects for grades I and III, employing a thematic approach to facilitate understanding and memorization in line with competency standards. A deeper evaluation is necessary, particularly regarding the suitability of approaches and methods to the material characteristics, student and teacher abilities, and the availability of information and communication technology (ICT). The study reveals that curriculum evaluation and the application of Aqidah Akhlak learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah tend to be formative and summative, using written and oral tests focusing on cognitive aspects. The implementation of action tests encompassing psychomotor and cognitive aspects remains limited, while non-test evaluation methods such as sociometry and anecdotal records are infrequent. Highlighting a new theory in evaluating Aqidah Akhlak subjects at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, this research underscores the importance of assessing student performance as a preferred alternative.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of job satisfaction on teacher performance at SMP Islam Bakti Asih, which is a crucial factor in improving educational quality. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. The sample consists of 20 teachers selected from a population of 45 teachers using a systematic nonprobability sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and document analysis, and the validity and reliability of the instruments were tested to ensure measurement accuracy. The main findings show a significant positive correlation between job satisfaction and teacher performance. Further analysis reveals that school leadership, organizational culture, and supervisory mechanisms also contribute to teacher performance, although job satisfaction remains the dominant factor. This study makes an important contribution to the educational management literature by providing insights into how various factors influence teacher performance. Limitations of this study include the limited sample size and short research duration. The implications of this study include recommendations for improving school policies that focus on enhancing job satisfaction as well as other factors to overall improve teacher performance. Further research is suggested to expand the sample size and extend the research duration to obtain more comprehensive results.
