Abstract

Indonesia's Education in 2023 was ranked 67th out of 203 countries according to Worldtop20.org, indicating that the quality of education still requires significant improvement. One effective approach to enhance the quality of education is the implementation of the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Action) cycle. This cycle, a part of integrated quality management, involves planning, execution, evaluation, and follow-up corrective actions to achieve sustainable quality standards. This study uses the systematic literature review (SLR) method to analyze the implementation of PDCA in educational institutions. Out of 1,290 selected articles, four relevant articles were identified and analyzed. The results of the study indicate that the PDCA cycle improves educational quality through strategic planning, curriculum implementation, periodic evaluations, and corrective actions. However, the implementation of PDCA faces challenges such as limited teacher competencies, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, restricted funding, and difficulties adapting to new curricula. These challenges affect the effectiveness of the cycle in enhancing educational quality. Support from various stakeholders, including teacher training, facility improvements, and collaboration among stakeholders, is essential to optimize PDCA implementation. With a systematic and collaborative approach, the PDCA cycle enables educational institutions to enhance quality sustainably and remain competitive at the global level.

Abstract

This research aims to improve student learning outcomes and fighting spirit character (mujahadah) in positive integer addition material through the implementation of the GASING method (Easy, Fun, Enjoyable). The research subjects were students of class VII G at MTsN 2 Mojokerto. The research method used was qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection was conducted through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation during the learning process. The research findings show that the implementation of the GASING method can improve student learning outcomes through three main stages: concrete, abstract, and mental calculation. Students showed significant changes in their perception of mathematics from a frightening subject to an enjoyable one. Student learning activities increased in aspects of participation, enthusiasm, and concept understanding. The learning atmosphere became more enjoyable and facilitated students in understanding positive integer addition concepts. Students' fighting spirit character also showed development during the learning process, manifested in perseverance, never-give-up attitude, internal motivation, and increased self-confidence. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the GASING method is effective in improving learning outcomes and students' fighting spirit character in positive integer addition material at class VII G MTsN 2 Mojokerto. The method successfully transforms students' perception of mathematics and creates optimal learning dynamics through a combination of teaching aids, enjoyable learning atmosphere, and gradual approach. Keywords: GASING method, positive integer addition, learning outcomes, students' fighting spirit

Abstract

This technological advancement requires students to develop computational thinking skills, which is a higher-order way of thinking. In Informatics at the junior high school/Islamic junior high school level, computational thinking is a compulsory subject from grades 7, 8, and 9. However, there are still challenges: many students struggle to understand computational scientific concepts, informatics learning is often perceived as rigid and limited to devices, and there has been no research specifically examining game-based learning with Aswaja values in the context of computational thinking. Therefore, there is a need for engaging, unplugged learning methods, namely is Misi Penjelajah. This game is implemented to improve computational thinking skills while instilling Aswaja values (tawasuth, tasamuh, tawasuts, and i’tidal) as a form of Aswaja Transformation. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with 28 students of class 8D MTs NU Pakis, Malang Regency as research subjects. The data used are observation data on computational thinking activities for students and assessment of the results of Misi Penjelajah, as well as a questionnaire on student learning motivation. The results of this study showed an increase in computational thinking skills, with 12 students (42.86%) in the very good category and 16 students (57.14%). In addition, students' learning motivation also increased, with 23 students (82.14%) having very high motivation to learn Informatics and 5 students (17.86%) having high motivation. This game is also able to foster the character of Aswaja values. This supports the formation of a moderate, tolerant, and balanced personality. Thus, this game is able to improve students' computational thinking, strengthen learning motivation, and shape students' characters who are strong in mind, body, feeling, and thinking.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of ubudiyah practices, Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah (Aswaja) values, and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) competencies in shaping resilient character among students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Using a qualitative case study approach at MI Mambaul Ulum Malang, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña’s interactive model. The findings indicate that ubudiyah activities are not merely ritualistic but also serve as a medium for internalizing spiritual values, discipline, and socio-emotional skills. The integration of the five core SEL competencies with the four Aswaja principles (tawassuth, tawazun, tasamuh, and i’tidal) gives rise to a character education model that is moderate, adaptive, and resilient. This strategy is reinforced through curriculum integration, consistent worship habituation, observation-based evaluation, and teacher role modeling. Despite challenges such as limited teacher understanding and inadequate facilities, this model shows strong potential for broader replication within Islamic education.
