Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of religious moderation in the elementary school environment, particularly at SDK Ruteng V, as an effort to build students’ characters that are tolerant, inclusive, and capable of living harmoniously within diversity. The background of this research is based on the reality of Indonesia as a multicultural country facing challenges in maintaining interreligious harmony, making religious moderation an important strategy promoted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. This study is expected to provide a concrete description of the implementation of religious moderation values in elementary education environments and the contribution of multicultural education in shaping students’ tolerant character. This research employed a qualitative approach using a literature study method combined with contextual analysis of religious moderation practices at the school. The findings indicate that religious moderation at SDK Ruteng V has been implemented through the integration of tolerance values in learning activities, habituation of attitudes in daily life, teacher role modeling, and the support of an inclusive school culture. Concrete practices such as joint prayers according to each student’s beliefs, inclusive religious activities, multicultural-based learning, and cooperation in heterogeneous groups are part of the best practices in instilling religious moderation values. However, this study also found challenges in the form of majority group dominance that potentially limits the participation of minority groups and affects students’ social interactions. Therefore, continuous strategic efforts are needed through strengthening inclusive school policies, enhancing the role of teachers, and providing equal participation opportunities for all students. Thus, the implementation of religious moderation at SDK Ruteng V can serve as a model of good practice in creating a harmonious educational environment and supporting the formation of a generation that respects diversity.

Abstract

The phenomenon of digital reactivity has transformed family communication patterns into interactions that are fast, impulsive, and lacking in depth. This study aims to examine the spirituality of Mary's silence in Matthew 1:18–25 as a prophetic critique for families in the digital age. The research employs a library study with a narrative-critical exegetical approach, integrated with contextual hermeneutics. The findings suggest that Mary's narrative silence in Matthew 1:18–25 opens a theological reading of silence as an expression of faith subjectivity, inner sovereignty, and the capacity to postpone responses in order to make room for God's work. This spirituality of silence offers an ethical framework that helps families cultivate reflective communication and preserve relational depth within a digital culture that encourages instant responses. By actualizing the value of Mary's silence, families can safeguard relational integrity from the pressures of digital validation and strengthen their interior space for reflection.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has brought significant changes to various aspects of human life, ranging from education, economy, and healthcare to digital communication. While these advancements offer convenience and efficiency in daily activities, they also pose challenges to human values and dignity. This journal aims to analyze the impact of AI development on human life and examine the importance of digital ethics in preserving human values in the machine age. The method employed is a literature review, gathering various sources from books, scientific journals, and articles related to AI technology and digital ethics. The discussion reveals that the utilization of AI without ethical oversight can trigger various issues, such as diminished social interaction, misuse of personal data, algorithmic bias, and human dependency on technology. Therefore, moral awareness, regulation, and digital ethics education are essential to ensure that technological developments remain oriented toward human well-being. In conclusion, AI should serve as a tool that assists humans, rather than replacing human values and individual dignity in social life

Abstract

This article examines the meaning of Mary’s contemplation from the perspective of Luke 2:15–20. This passage describes Mary’s response after hearing the shepherds’ testimony regarding the birth of Jesus. The Gospel records that Mary “treasured all these things in her heart and pondered them.” This expression reveals Mary’s profound inner attitude in responding to the salvific events that had taken place. Mary’s contemplation was not merely a matter of recalling the events she had experienced, but also a process of faith-filled reflection to understand God’s work in her life. Through this attitude, Mary emerges as a person open to divine mystery and capable of processing her life experiences in the light of faith. This study aims to explore the deepest meaning of Mary’s attitude of treasuring and pondering all these things in her heart. The focus of the study is to understand how Mary’s contemplative attitude can be interpreted as a model of spirituality relevant to the spiritual life, particularly for seminarians. Contemplation is understood as an inner process that helps a person discern God’s presence and work in the events of daily life. The method used in this study is library research, which involves examining various theological, biblical, and spiritual sources related to the Gospel of Luke and the concept of contemplation within the Church’s tradition. This approach helps the researcher understand the theological significance of Mary’s attitude while connecting it to spiritual life. The research findings indicate that Mary’s attitude of treasuring and pondering all things in her heart can serve as a model of contemplation for seminarians. This attitude guides them to deeply integrate life experiences, prayer, and ministry into the process of spiritual formation at the seminary.

Abstract

The "normalism" mindset, which assumes everyone must fit one standard, has marginalized people with disabilities in Indonesia. Public facilities and societal attitudes often only favor the majority. This research examines the ideas of Rm. Paulus Janssen, CM, regarding "public disability theology." It aims to see how his ideas can be used as a foundation to challenge this normalism, especially in Indonesia's diverse (multicultural) society. The method is qualitative library research, reviewing existing texts through a multicultural lens. The results show that Janssen's theology, demonstrated through the real-life practice of "living together," is a direct critique of normalism. This practice rejects the view of people with disabilities as mere objects of pity. Instead, Janssen affirms their equal dignity. From a multicultural perspective, this approach values bodily diversity as a richness, not a deviation from the standard. In conclusion, Janssen's disability theology is not just a spiritual reflection. It is a liberating social movement pushing Indonesia to become a more open, just, and humane society for all.
