Abstract

Abstract

Social anxiety is a common problem among Generation Z, characterized by fear of negative evaluation, difficulty in social interactions, and a tendency to avoid social situations. Social support is believed to help reduce social anxiety by providing a sense of security, acceptance, and emotional support. This study aims to examine the effect of social support on social anxiety among Generation Z in JABODETABEK. Using a quantitative approach with simple linear regression analysis, this study involved 150 respondents selected through incidental sampling. This study used the Social Anxiety Scale for Adolescents (SAS-A) and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) as measuring instruments. The findings of the study showed that social support had a significant negative effect on social anxiety. Among the various sources of support, support from significant others had the strongest impact, at 16.8%, compared to support from friends and family. These findings emphasize the role of significant others in preventing and reducing social anxiety in Generation Z.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of work-study conflict on student engagement in working students. The subjects of this research were 266 undergraduate students in Indonesia who were actively working. Sampling used a non-probability sampling technique with a purposive sampling method. The research method used is a quantitative method with simple linear regression. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The measuring tool uses the Student Engagement Scale by Nilna Mafaza, Fajar Kawuryan, and Ridwan Budi Pramono in 2021 and the Work-Study Conflict Scale by Rizky Rahmatul Zamarni in 2022. The results show that there is a negative and significant influence of work-study conflict on student engagement in students working. This means that if work-study conflict decreases, student engagement increases. The work-study conflict variable contributed to student engagement by 42.7%, while the remaining 57.3% was influenced by other factors not examined in this research. The majority of partisipants were in the category of high student engagement and low work-study conflict.

Abstract

The psychological well-being of a teacher is a vital element in creating a positive learning environment, and is related to performance. When teachers are in good psychological condition, they will develop more positively, be more optimistic when teaching, and be more able to adopt various innovative learning methods. The role of a teacher requires them to possess specific competencies, including preparing teaching materials, designing learning syllabi, delivering knowledge to students, evaluating student academic performance, enforcing discipline in classroom management, motivating students to learn, and many other skills. This research examines the psychological well-being of teachers in Indonesia in the context of efforts to enhance students' learning motivation. It employs a qualitative research method using a literature study approach. The aim of this research is to analyze the psychological impacts experienced by teachers in relation to student learning motivation at both primary and secondary education levels. The research findings indicate that individuals who possess emotional balance, a sense of purpose, and happiness are more capable of influencing students' learning motivation effectively. Reducing stress and life burdens on teachers—thus improving their psychological well-being—leads to the development of high-quality teachers, not only enhancing their professional lives but also significantly contributing to the achievement of optimal student learning outcomes.
