Abstract

The transformation of the global banking industry is increasingly emphasizing environmental sustainability and social responsibility, particularly in response to the climate crisis and poverty. As part of the Islamic banking sector, BSI seeks to integrate Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles into its operations to support green banking and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices. This study aims to analyze the role of GCG in driving the implementation of green banking and CSR, as well as its impact on banking performance. The research objectives include evaluating the policies, programs, and challenges associated with the application of sustainable practices at BSI KCP Sokaraja. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing data collection methods such as observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The research subjects include BSI KCP Sokaraja employees involved in banking operations, namely the Branch Manager, Branch Operation Supervision Manager (BOSM), and Back Office staff. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was tested using source and technique triangulation to ensure the credibility and reliability of the findings. The findings reveal that BSI KCP Sokaraja has implemented four out of six green banking indicators. The role of GCG has proven significant in supporting transparency, accountability, and compliance with Sharia principles in green banking and CSR practices. However, this study is limited by its focus on a single branch office, meaning the findings cannot be broadly generalized. Future research is recommended to expand the scope to other branches, quantitatively examine the impact of green banking and CSR on the bank's financial performance, and further explore the alignment of Sharia principles with sustainability practices.

Abstract

The development of higher education in Indonesia is characterized not only by the growing number of students but also by shifts in their lifestyles and needs. Students are no longer solely focused on academic activities; many choose to work part-time to support their financial needs and gain practical experience. This decision is influenced by various factors, particularly parents’ economic status and students’ work motivation. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effect of these two variables on students’ interest in part-time employment. This research employs a quantitative approach, using questionnaire-based data collected from 398 respondents across three state universities in Purwokerto. The data were analyzed using classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing through t-tests and F-tests. The findings reveal that, partially, parents’ economic status significantly influences students’ interest in part-time work, with a significance value of 0.000. Similarly, work motivation also shows a significant effect with the same significance level. Simultaneously, both variables have a significant impact, with a coefficient of determination of 57.1%, indicating a substantial contribution to explaining students’ interest in working part-time.

Abstract

The rapid transformation of digital technology has given birth to various innovations in the economic sector, including the emergence of new work models based on digital platforms, one of which is the profession as a freelance live streaming host which began with the Covid-19 event. This freelance live streaming host is an alternative job option for students because of its flexible work system and can be an additional source of income. This study aims to analyze the role of freelance live streaming hosts in increasing student income and the process of building trust from an Islamic economic perspective. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach to active students who work as live streaming hosts on digital marketplace platforms . Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis model. The results of the study show that live streaming hosting activities contribute to increasing student income through human capital development in the form of communication skills, digital literacy and marketing experience. Apart from the economic aspect, the formation of trust occurs through the application of honest, transparent, and non-exaggerated communication of product information so that it is in accordance with Islamic economic principles such as ṣidq, amanah, and justice. The trust that has been formed encourages consumers to be loyal to the company and the sustainability of business relationships. This research confirms that the success of the live streaming host profession is not only determined by the individual's technical ability, but also by the application of sharia ethical values in digital marketing activities.

Abstract

Default on rahn financing poses a challenge for Pegadaian Syariah because it risks causing losses. Gold pawn auctions are the main strategy to resolve customers who fail to pay on time. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected thru in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation from 5 informants consisting of managers, auction officers, and defaulting customers. The research results show that the gold pawn auction is conducted in a structured and effective manner. The process begins with issuing a warning to the defaulting customer, followed by the formation of the auction implementation team. The auction is conducted fairly, transparently, and responsibly, reflecting the application of sharia compliance principles. Transparency efforts are realized thru the delivery of gold value estimates to customers before the auction via WhatsApp groups and announcement boards at CPS Pasar Wage. The determination of the auction price refers to the current estimated gold price, and the auction results are directly communicated to the customers along with any remaining funds, if applicable. In conclusion, the gold pawn auction strategy at Pegadaian Syariah UPS Ajibarang is effective in addressing default on rahn and is in accordance with sharia compliance principles. These findings have implications for strengthening the governance of sharia-based microfinance grounded in transparency and justice.

Abstract

A company that wants to enlarge its efforts can choose an internal bond to get the funding. Corporate bonds play a big role in the development of a company. State Sukuk also has a big role in the economy. With a Sharia-compliant Sukuk, you can finance the development of infrastructure and also become an alternative source of state budget financing. This paper aims to discuss how the role of Sukuk can increase the Indonesian economy, as well as how to optimize the role of Sukuk as a tool to increase the Indonesian economy. The research method used is qualitative with a library approach. The study concludes that the growth of Sukuk in Indonesia is increasing sharply. The rapid growth of Sukuk is not independent of the role of policymakers. The fatwas made by the DSN MUI have given comfort to the public, specifically public Muslims who will invest their funds. The additional capital obtained by the company can be used to open new businesses. With new businesses, new work opportunities will open up for society, thereby increasing public income. The enhancement of public income will increase the purchasing power of society, and the economy will grow. State bonds play an important role in enhancing development. The issuance of State Sukuk with various types of Sukuk series has made a great contribution to the development of various infrastructure projects in Indonesia. The role of investors in the country's economy is not only in the development of physical infrastructure but can also help the government in fulfilling the need for state finances. Sukuk, as an alternative source of financing for the state budget, can be used to close the deficit in the state budget. The benefits of Sukuk are great, as well as the possible profit obtained by attractive investors, regardless of problems in the practice. One problem is the issuance of corporate bonds, which do not yet have a standard structure and uniform contract. To overcome this problem, it is preferable for the MUI as a fatwa holder to become a reference for issuing a fatwa containing information about the standard structure and uniform contract. In this matter, MUI can work with Muslim economists and practitioners who are sukuk investors so that a fatwa can be issued to overcome the problem.
