Abstract

The fashion industry is a rapidly growing economic sector, but it has a significant impact on the environment. The trend of thrift fashion or buying secondhand clothes has emerged as an alternative form of sustainable consumption that supports the circular economy. This study aims to examine the relationship between sustainability awareness, attitude toward thrift products, perceived value, and consumer purchase intentions in the context of fashion reuse in Indonesia. This study uses a conceptual literature review approach by synthesizing previous research results in the field of sustainable fashion and consumer behavior. The conceptual model is built based on Theory of Planned Behavior (Ajzen, 1991) and Value–Attitude–Behavior Framework (Homer & Kahle, 1988). The synthesis results show that sustainability awareness does not directly influence purchase intention, but rather through two main mediating pathways: (1) positive attitude toward thrift products as an affective pathway, and (2) perceived value towards the functional, emotional, and social benefits of the product as a cognitive pathway. These two mediators explain how environmental awareness shapes behavioral tendencies without the need to involve external variables such as social norms. Theoretically, this study reinforces our understanding of sustainable consumer behavior. In practical terms, the results provide guidance for thrift fashion MSMEs to emphasize sustainability, quality, and ethical image in their marketing strategies in order to encourage more environmentally friendly consumption behavior.

Abstract

The Capital Market Masterplan 3 (CMP3), introduced by the Securities Commission Malaysia in 2021, provides a strategic five-year framework to advance Malaysia’s Islamic Capital Market (ICM). It aligns Shariah-compliant finance with global sustainability objectives, digital innovation and financial inclusion. This paper examines CMP3’s six strategic pillars catalyzing competitive growth; empowering investors; shaping the stakeholder economy; embedding shared accountability; prioritizing efficiency outcomes; and embracing technology and assesses their grounding in Maqasid al-Shariah and ESG principles. Drawing on qualitative policy analysis and market statistics, this study shows how CMP3 enhances market resilience, broadens access for MSMEs and mid-tier firms, and positions Malaysia as a global Islamic finance hub. This study concludes with recommendations to strengthen regulatory support, harmonize Shariah governance and accelerate digital transformation to realize CMP3’s vision fully.

Abstract

This study examines how brand embarrassment escalates into detachment and hate among Acehnese consumers toward foreign F&B brands perceived to be affiliated with Israel. Using qualitative netnography, we observed public discourse across Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, YouTube, Google Maps reviews, and food-delivery apps from July 2024 to August 2025. The corpus comprised 512 discourse units and eight focal incidents; 378 units explicitly invoked geopolitical ties. Event-centered coding shows primary triggers were geopolitical affiliation/solidarity (41.3%) and corporate stance/donation controversies (16.1%), followed by service humiliation (19.6%), status threat/face loss (10.3%), and pricing opacity (7.7%); halal-certification uncertainty appeared mainly as a secondary co-argument (12.2% of the geopolitical subset). Embarrassment—direct (in-store) or vicarious (online)—was typically followed by early detachment (unfollow/avoidance/switching within <48 hours) and, when coupled with moralized framing and slow/defensive corporate replies, escalated into brand hate with boycott calls (71.8% of geopolitical-triggered units). Consumer entitlement cues (16.4%) acted as an escalator, prolonging threads. Fast, empathic responses and clear statements about local franchise autonomy shortened escalation. The study contributes an episode-based process model and offers a practical playbook for risk monitoring and recovery in value-sensitive markets.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of innovation and fintech on the repurchase intention of culinary MSME consumers in Kampung Baru Village, Medan, which has been facing challenges of low product diversification, conventional capital constraints, and limited digital infrastructure. The descriptive quantitative method was applied by collecting data through questionnaires to 100 respondents who were selected incidentally and data analysis using SPSS 25 involving tests of validity, reliability, normality, multicollinearity, and multiple linear regression. The results of the study show that innovation has a positive and significant influence. Meanwhile, fintech also has a positive and significant effect on repurchase intention, with a determination coefficient of R² of 0.533 which means that the two variables explain 53.3% of the repurchase intention variable. These findings confirm the importance of synergy between innovation and fintech in increasing the repurchase intention of culinary MSMEs in Medan. Therefore, it is recommended that MSME actors conduct periodic market research, develop innovations according to consumer needs, and implement a simple digital recording system, fintech providers simplify the application interface, offer flexible loan tenors, and financial literacy modules.

Abstract

The beauty sector demonstrates ongoing expansion and ingenuity annually. The beauty industry is presently expanding rapidly, with a steady influx of new brands emerging and evolving; beauty products within Indonesia encounter rivalry not just from local companies but also from global entities. Sociolla. id exists to offer an easier way for Indonesian consumers to acquire beauty products, but it faces difficulties due to insufficient financial technology services that could benefit customers and a need for more modern marketing tactics, like influencer marketing. This research focused on Sociolla. id customers, utilizing a sample size of 110 individuals. The findings reveal that financial technology has some effect on how well people know the Sociolla. id brand. The research also found that influencer marketing has a partial impact on how well people know the Sociolla. id brand. The study's data indicates that financial technology has a combined impact on the recognition of the Sociolla. id brand. The R Square (R2) statistic, or coefficient of determination, indicates that financial technology and influencer marketing together account for 79.7% of the variability, while the remaining 21.3% is impacted by other variables not included in the research model, such as cost, product attributes, and perceived worth.

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of green marketing innovation and eco-friendly product attributes on consumer purchase intention in the skincare industry in the sustainable economy era. A quantitative method was employed by distributing questionnaires to 110 Somethinc customers at Vanilla Skincare & Cosmetic Store, with respondents selected based on their familiarity with experience with the products. The instruments were tested for validity and reliability, and data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression with SPSS 27.The findings show that green marketing has a positive but insignificant influence on purchase intention. Campaigns such as collaboration with LindungiHutan and the EmptyBox program helped strengthen brand awareness but did not substantially affect consumer decisions. In contrast, eco-friendly products demonstrated a positive and significant effect. Factors including quality, the use of natural ingredients, recyclable packaging, and proven skin health benefits were the main drivers of consumer purchase interest. Overall, the research concludes that sustainability and product quality play a greater role than promotional strategies in shaping buying decisions. These results suggest that skincare companies should continue to innovate in eco-friendly product development while reinforcing sustainable marketing to build long-term consumer trust.

Abstract

Medan Timur District, covering an area of 8.89 km² with a population of 117,035, serves as a hub for informal economic growth, particularly in the diverse and innovative culinary MSME sector. The shift in consumer behavior toward online shopping via platforms such as GoFood, GrabFood, and ShopeeFood poses challenges for culinary MSMEs due to limitations in technology, digital marketing knowledge, and online business management, which reduce competitiveness and market opportunities. The research employs a quantitative descriptive method with a population of 350 culinary MSME actors and a sample of 187 respondents determined using Slovin’s formula with a 5% margin of error. The results indicate that both partially and simultaneously, e-commerce utilization and innovation have a significant effect on business success.
