Abstract

The morphological characteristics of plant vegetative organ has the potential to be the defining factor of pandanus family collection at Purwodadi Botanical Garden (PBG). However, the information is not enough to confirm the identity of pandanus at the type-level. This problem happened at the collection of PBG. It is an urgent issue considering PBG as one of the most important ex-situ plant conservation institute that also has function as a study source for plant taxonomy science in Indonesia. Therefore, the use of molecular technology analysis using molecular marker (primer) is incredibly important to identify the member of pandanus family by identifying its family relationship pattern. This information was expected to give a clarity about the identity of Pandanus family at PBG which will support further research and activity for pandanus conservation. The plant sample includes 16 specimens of pandanus with one member of the family from Freycinetia as the outgroup. Morphological analysis of the 50 characteristics of vegetative organs (leaf, stem, and root) was conducted. Molecular analysis of DNA using primer of trnL and trnL-F. The data sequence as a result of the analysis was then tested using homology test with BLAST. All of the DNA sequence was paralleled using Clustal W analysis, the tree construction relationship was analysed using Maximum Parsimony (MP) method with MEGA 6.0 program. The results of morphological studies showed the character vegetative that is the position of the spines on the leaves, the shape of apex leaf and the condition of the root surface above the soil. Molecularly, appears 1 new genera that has not been previously identified by PBG researcher is Benstonea.

Abstract

This research investigated the behavioral differences between web-based registration system’s users and manual registration system’s users. There are several difference characteristics of each user, for instance; Personal Innovativeness in the domain of Information Technology (PIIT), attitude, usefulness, ease of use, subjective norm, behavioral control, facilitating condition, and self efficacy. The samples of this research are university students in Yogyakarta. The result of this research shows that web-based registration system’s users has higher PIIT, higher positive attitude, higher subjective norm, higher behavioral control, higher facilitating condition, and higher self efficacy than manual registration system’s user. There’s no difference between manual registration system’s users and web-based registration system’s users for the usefulness perception and ease of use

Abstract

In accounting, there are two methods used in recording business combinations i.e purchase and pooling of interest method. Purchase method has ameasurable indication with the withdrawal of cash beside the cost of business combination and stock issuance costs incurred by the company buyer. In addition to that, there will be changes of ownership. The assets acquired by a business entity are recorded and recognized at market value. As a consequence, the excess of fixed assets will be recorded as goodwill. Meanwhile if the business combination uses the pooling of interest method, then the amount of assets, debts and rights of shareholders that are reported by the affiliated companies will be recognized in accordance with its book value. APB No.16 notes that there are 12 requirements that must be met when using pooling of interest method. If it does not meet any of these requirements then the combined companies must use the purchase method. There is no goodwill in pooling interest method. It means that in the merger process there is no obligation to pay taxes since it based on book value and no goodwill.

Abstract

Starch is regarded as vital in the food industry, where granule size and shape determine its function and uses. One plant taxon that is widely known as a starch source is Dioscorea (Dioscoreaceae), whose starch and protein content make it a healthy food. As the initial step to identify which varieties possess potential as starch sources, we conducted study on starch granule morphology of some local varieties of D. hispida and D. alata. The aim of this study was to determine shape and size variation of starch granule of each variety of D. hispida and D. alata. The results showed that starch granule morphology does not only vary between species of D. hispida and D. alata, but also among varieties of those species. The shape of starch granules in D. hispida is dominantly polygonal (polyhedral). It showed similar results as those reported by other authors in their studies, except that – in this study - we found there is also a triangular shape, which has never been reported before. Starch granule size of D. hispida is found to be “Very small – Small” and only 1 variety of the species – that is gadung jahe – is classified as “Small” type. According to previous studies, varieties with small type starch granule are recommended as potential sources for non-food industrial raw materials. The shape of starch granules in D. alata is similar to those reported in other studies, which is dominantly triangular and polygonal; the size is classified as “Medium” type, except for two varieties that are uwi ratu and uwi ulo (DC5), which are classified as “Large”. According to previous studies, varieties with large type starch granule are recommended as potential sources for food. Thus, from this study 3 potential local varieties are identified, i.e. gadung jahe of D. hispida, and uwi ratu & uwi ulo of D. alata.

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the effect of job demands in moderating the relationship between servant leadership and civil apparatus’ job satisfaction. This study involved 200 respondents who spread across Jakarta, Makassar, Medan, Semarang, and Surabaya, using convenience sampling technique. The data of this research were obtained through online surveys. The multiple linear regression analysis was used to test the moderating variable according to the statistical rules. To process the data analysis, we used IBM SPSS 23. The results showed that servant leadership had a positive effect on civil apparatus’ job satisfaction. However, job demands do not moderate the relationship between servant leadership and job satisfaction.

Abstract

Higher education in Indonesia faces challenges in improving its quality, especially in the post-COVID-19 era and the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) in higher education management and its impact on improving the quality of education in Indonesia. Through a qualitative approach, this study identifies the urgency of higher education management as a determining factor in improving the quality of education and analyzes the development of TQM principles in the context of higher education. Data collection is carried out through relevant literature sourced from google scholar. Data analysis is carried out qualitatively consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of data analysis show that higher education management plays a crucial role in the preparation of a quality workforce and TQM can improve the quality of education services. Factors supporting TQM implementation involve good governance, while inhibiting factors involve bureaucratic constraints and lack of efficiency of public services. Thus, the implementation of TQM needs to pay attention to these aspects to achieve a more substantial improvement in the quality of higher education

Abstract

The goal to be achieved in this study emphasizes the role of the application of e-government on the performance of public services in government agencies. The method used in this study is literature research using secondary data in the form of books and related journals. The main source of data for this research is scientific articles published in various journals and indexed by google scholar. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this research show that human resources are needed who have adequate competencies on top of technological developments so that implementing E-Government will be easier. Furthermore, it is necessary to have a budget and maximum facilities and infrastructure which can help government workers in providing services. The government must develop e-government, in which there must be channels that are able to answer the challenges of technological developments so that officials can easily adapt to existing developments.

Abstract

The submission of requests for Ready Use Fund Assistance (DSP) by the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) to the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) continues to increase along with the number of disaster events. The web-based DSP Application System used by BNPB to manage DSP request documents is no longer in accordance with the current needs of the organization. This study uses the PIECES analysis method which can be considered in developing an information system, in PIECES there are 6 (six) aspects used in analyzing an application or information system, namely Performance, Information, Economic, Control, Efficiency, Service (PIECES), where in each aspect a method and provisions are needed in conducting assessments. The results of the analysis using the PIECES method show that the DSP application has shortcomings in every aspect, the results of the PIECES analysis can be used as a basis for improving the DSP application to meet the needs of users and organizations
