Abstract

Fenomena pemakaian bahasa gaul dalam komunikasi di media sosial semakin marak terjadi, terutama di kalangan generasi muda. Media sosial sebagai wadah interaksi virtual telah menjadi ruang yang subur bagi tumbuhnya ragam bahasa tidak baku atau bahasa gaul. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana penggunaan bahasa gaul pada media sosial memengaruhi kemampuan berbahasa akademik pada kalangan pelajar dan mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan sosiologis. Fokus penelitian ini yaitu: (1) Pengertian Bahasa Gaul, (2) Bahasa Gaul Dalam Sosial Media, (3) Pengaruh Terhadap Bahasa Indonesia. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pemakaian bahasa gaul yang berlebihan dan tanpa kontrol dapat memengaruhi kemampuan berbahasa formal, khususnya dalam ragam akademik. Bahasa gaul yang digunakan di media sosial cenderung menimbulkan kebiasaan dalam menggunakan kosakata tidak baku, struktur kalimat sederhana, dan penggunaan ejaan yang tidak sesuai dengan kaidah bahasa Indonesia. Hal ini berdampak pada menurunnya kualitas tulisan dan komunikasi akademik yang seharusnya berlandaskan bahasa yang baik dan benar. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan kesadaran berbahasa dan pembinaan literasi bahasa agar generasi muda mampu memilah penggunaan bahasa sesuai konteksnya.

Abstract

This article aims to determine the level of German speaking ability A1 in Stambuk 2023 students at Medan State University. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. The sample in this study were all students of class A standard 2023 at Medan State University. The sampling technique uses the Simple Random Sampling technique. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire.The results of this research show the level of German language skills possessed by students of the 1st semester German language study program who are in class A. Respondents consisting of 10 students admitted that it was easy to learn German on the Sich Vorstellen theme and they said they were able to introduce themselves in German.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the factors that cause someone to choose a study program option At Tribuana Kalabahi University,several variables are analyzed, namely Job Opportunities, Study Costs, Parental Influence, Personal Interests, Study Program Image . This research is quantitative research using descriptive methods explorative. The population in this study were Class XII SMA/SMK students in Regency Alor  the sample in this study was taken as many as 188 high school and vocational school students  XII which is in Alor district with sampling techniques done properly random. Data Which collected in study use technique spread questionnaire study to class XII students SMA/SMK in Alor District. Technique The data analysis used in this research is statistical analysis descriptive percentage. The research results show firstly , the main factor that has a significant impact on the decision of high school/vocational school students to choose Tribuana Kalabahi Universityias a place to continue their higher education is the availability of access or ease of location, with an influence level reaching 55%. secondly i, the Primary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD) dominates by receiving the highest support from respondents, reaching a percentage of 34%. third, /the employment opportunity factor has a significant influence, with 81% of respondents, the study cost factor also has a large impact, reaching a score of 77%. Parental influence is also quite significant, with 69%. Personal interest actors had a slightly smaller but still quite relevant role, with a score of 58%. The image of the study program, although still relevant, apparently has a lower influence compared to other factors, namely only 44%.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the relevance of Ki Hajar Dewantara's motto as a teacher's guide. The method applied in this research is qualitative by conducting literary research using journals and books available on the internet. The research results show that the three mottos coined by Ki Hajar Dewantara are Ing Ngarso Sung Tulodo, Ing Madyo Mangun Karso, Tut Wuri Handayani. Having a strong bond, with the teacher as a facilitator must be a role model for students, because in the world of formal education, it is the teacher who controls the students' cognitive, emotional and psychomotor development. There is a very strong influence on the education system in Indonesia which no longer applies like the education system outside but has implemented a character and culture education system in the world of education. Due to the existence of an education system, an ideal educator can become a role model for his students so that they can determine the true future of the world.

Abstract

This study investigates challenges faced by 5th-semester English major students at an Indonesian university in developing proficient English-speaking skills. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive method, the research aims to identify and analyze impediments hindering students' spoken English proficiency. Subjects were 5th-semester English major students, and data collection involved observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal diverse challenges, including low vocabulary mastery, grammar deficiencies, pronunciation difficulties, fear of judgment, lack of confidence, limited practice opportunities, minimal exposure to English, environmental factors, mother tongue dominance, low motivation, and ineffective teaching strategies. Pronunciation emerged as the predominant issue, with students expressing apprehension due to fear of mispronunciation. This research provides valuable insights for educators, curriculum developers, and language learning practitioners, offering a nuanced understanding of specific areas requiring attention. Addressing these challenges can inform targeted interventions and strategies, fostering an improved learning environment for enhancing English-speaking skills.
