Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze PKS's strategy to build women's political participation in its da'wah activities. The crisis of democracy is rationally caused by the lack of formal participation of the community, especially women in national politics. PKS has not maximized in utilizing alternative forms of women's participation through social media to fulfill affirmative policies. The efforts made by PKS have not been maximized in utilizing the strong influence of the media effects of the 4.0 era to increase women's political participation. The theoretical reference used is the theory proposed by Aeron Davis "Citizens, media effect and public participation" (Aeron Davis, 2019: 109-129). The concept of women's political participation in political parties can be brought closer to the term Ummah. This word is repeated 64 times in the word of Allah S.W.T, which is found among others in the 3rd surah (Ali-Imran) verse 110 and the 2nd surah (al-Baqarah) verse 143 and the 3rd surah (Ali-Imran) verse 110. Khyar means the best option, found in QS. As-Shaad [38]: 47. 'Aqibah which means impact or effect which in the Qur'an is mentioned 31 times of which is found in QS. Al-A'raf [7]: 128. This research paradigm is a critical paradigm using da'wah communication approaches, political communication, political parties and women's political participation. The research method consists of a type of research, namely descriptive qualitative. From this research, it can be seen that PKS encourages women to actively participate in politics as a manifestation of healthy democracy. Political awareness is built by conducting cadres every week through Ta'lim. The media used by PKS to build women's political participation is predominantly carried out through direct communication and is still minimal in the use of social media.

Abstract

The Saudi Arabia-Iran reconciliation initiated by China has implications for the role of the United States (US) in the conflict. Saudi Arabia is beginning to see China as a rising power, while the U.S. is facing geopolitical shifts in the Middle East. The economic proximity between Saudi Arabia and China reduces Saudi Arabia's dependence on the US. The US should acknowledge the changing power dynamics and consider China's position in its policy regarding the Saudi Arabia-Iran conflict. This reconciliation requires the US to adapt to geopolitical power shifts and face new challenges in the region. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia began to focus on revamping priority aspects with the shift of oil energy as a mainstay to green energy with the implementation of Vision 2030.

Abstract

A country's economic policies lead to poverty, and the policies of other sectors, such as the economy, labor, education, and health, should help address poverty. Although poverty is influenced by many factors, it is not an independent factor. Fully recognized by our founders, our constitution, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia (UUD 1945) included provisions on the National Economy and Social Welfare in Chapter XIV. The Indonesian Constitution has chosen an economic system that is in accordance with the basic norms of the Indonesian nation, namely the Pancasila economic system which is then called the humanistic economic system, especially in relation to poverty policy in Indonesia.

Abstract

In order to enhance the professional competence of aspiring counselors enrolled in the Islamic Counseling Guidance Study Program, this research sought to disclose the online counseling model used at State Islamic Religious Universities. Interviews with the management of UIN Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar, UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau, and UIN Sheikh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan's Islamic Counseling Guidance study program were used to gather research data. The findings demonstrate that, theoretically, Islamic Counseling Guidance and Islamic Education Counseling Guidance courses have been used to execute online counseling. This has made it easier to adapt to how information technology has developed. In actuality, though, online therapy is only done through social media platforms like Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Video Call. The study's findings indicate that in order to enhance the professional competence of Islamic Counseling Guidance students as potential Islamic counselors, managers of the Islamic Counseling Guidance Study Program and Islamic Education Counseling Guidance must create applications that are simple to use, particularly for guidance and counseling services.

Abstract

Background: The spread of rhythm and blues (R&B) and hip-hop songs among youth is undeniable nowadays. Besides the alluring arrangement of musical sounds those genres offer, people also appreciate the meaning of the lyrics. However, some musicians would slip religious Arabic phrases into their lyrics regardless of the song's overall content, evoking questions regarding their appropriateness. This research aims to raise awareness among Muslim youth about the implied message behind R&B and hip-hop songs, as well as to track the development of Islamic teachings regarding music. Methods: Mixed-method approach, consisting of questionnaires and follow-up interviews with respondents, was adopted in the data collection process. The data includes the opinions of 30 participants regarding the phenomenon of religious Arabic phrases in the lyrics of English R&B and hip-hop songs. Findings: This research has found five English hip-hop and R&B songs that contain religious Arabic phrases. A majority of the participants have heard of English hip-hop and R&B songs with religious Arabic phrases, and most of them understand the meaning behind the song lyrics. Conclusion: This research concludes that when employing religious Arabic phrases in English hip-hop and R&B, it is regarded as inappropriate and strictly prohibited if the phrases are utilized in a hypocritical context or to make light of religion. Novelty/Originality of This Study: This study raises awareness among Muslim youth about the implied messages behind R&B and hip-hop songs with religious Arabic phrases and tracks the development of Islamic teachings regarding music, addressing an area that combines contemporary music trends with religious sensitivity.

Abstract

Background: Anti-Muslim sentiment has been intensified since 11 September, in which Muslims are often considered as ‘others’, ‘terrorist’ or ‘violent’. Although we are exposed every day about Muslims in general from media in the West we know a little about these issues from the eyes of an insider and how Muslims themselves narrate their religion. Cyberspace has created a new cultural space for public discourse through languages. Methods: This research investigates Muslim voices in cyberspace to show how Iranian Muslims represent their religion on their weblogs. The narratives of ten blogs written by Iranian Muslims were analyzed through qualitative content analysis. The theoretical framework of this study is based on Edward Said's Orientalism Theory. Target blogs are written in English or Persian language. Findings: The result displays that although Iranian bloggers live in various Western countries, such as Germany, England, Canada, and the United States; they narrate and share their Shia culture and identity in their virtual pages. Conclusion: This research highlights how Iranian Muslims use blogs as a platform to represent their faith and culture, challenging the stereotypes and misconceptions prevalent in the West. Novelty/Originality of This Study: The study provides insights into how Iranian Muslims utilize cyberspace to narrate their own religious and cultural experiences, offering a perspective that contrasts with the often negative portrayal of Muslims in Western media.

Abstract

Background: The global halal industry continues to grow, including in sectors such as cosmetics and skincare. This growth is supported by increasing consumer demand for halal products, particularly in Indonesia, which has one of the largest Muslim populations. Ongoing research seeks to understand the factors that influence the intention to purchase halal products. This study aims to examine the effect of halal certification on the intention to purchase halal skincare products, while also investigating the moderating role of halal awareness. Methods: This experimental study involved 310 Muslim female respondents aged 18-25 years. The participants were randomly assigned to either an experimental group, which received a product catalog with halal certification logos, or a control group, which received a catalog without halal certification logos. Following the manipulation, the respondents' intention to purchase and halal awareness were measured. Findings: The results revealed that the intention to purchase was higher in the experimental group compared to the control group, indicating that halal certification positively affects the intention to purchase. However, halal awareness did not moderate this relationship; instead, it had a direct effect on the intention to purchase halal skincare products. Conclusion: Halal certification significantly influences the intention to purchase halal skincare, while halal awareness directly impacts purchasing intention, but not as a moderator. These findings highlight the importance of halal certification in consumer purchasing behavior. Novelty/Originality of This Study: This study contributes to the literature by demonstrating the direct effect of halal awareness on purchasing intention and by providing empirical evidence on the importance of halal certification in the skincare industry, particularly among young Muslim consumers.
