Abstract

Employees are one of the resources that can help the company achieve its goals. This can be occurred by employees carrying out roles outside their main duties (extra roles) known as organizational citizenship behavior. The emergence of organizational citizenship behavior in employees can be influenced by the company's work environment. This study aims to determine whether there is a positive relationship between the work environment and organizational citizenship behavior in employees. The research was conducted at a tourism company in Central Java. Respondents involved in this study were 59 employees consisting of 47 male respondents and 12 female respondents. The sampling technique used is a population study or census study, so that all employees are the research sample. The research instruments were the Organizational Citizenship Behavior Scale (α = 0.801) and the Work Environment Scale (α = 0.836). Product moment correlation by Karl Pearson was used to test the research hypothesis. The results of analysis stated that there was a significant and positive relationship between the work environment and organizational citizenship behavior (r = 0.800; p <0.05). Based on these results it can be concluded that the better work environment built by the company for employees will increase organizational citizenship behavior shown by employees. In addition, it was also found that the non-physical work environment has a greater influence on organizational citizenship behavior of employees (β = 0.538; p<0.05) than the physical work environment (β = 0.515; p<0.05).

Abstract

Technology development had given a significant impact on the development of e-commerce. The offerings available on e-commerce make the user have the tendency to be impulsive with their purchase. The hypothesis of this study is there’s a relationship between frequently accessing e-commerce and impulsive buying behavior among early aged-adults. The participants in this research are early adults aged 18 to 25 years old and live in DKI Jakarta, with a total of participants being 88 women and 31 men. The sampling technique in this research is convenience sampling. A quantitative study was designed for this research and used a correlational method to analyze the data. The measurement tool in this research is the impulsive buying scale developed by Rook & Fisher (1995) with a total item correlation is 0.37 to 0.70 and Cronbach alpha around 0.834, whereas measurement of intensity access e-commerce is measured using classification on 3 categories which are the intensity of access e-commerce 1-5 times, 6-10 times, and more than 10 times per month. The data collection method used an online questionnaire. The normality test was used as an assumption test and the correlation product moment was used to analyze the data. This study’s results showed that there is a low correlation between frequently accessing e-commerce and impulsive buying behavior (r = 0.205; p = 0.025). Also, the research showed that 70.5% of the participant were categorized as high on the impulsive buying scale. This study implies that individual’s online activity may influence their behavior in purchasing.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused changes in the way individuals engage in the society. This activity change is inseparable from Generation Z’s role as the largest population of productive age in Indonesia. This study aimed to describe civic engagement in Generation Z in Indonesia. A total of 104 research subjects were recruited using a purposive sampling technique in which the criteria was Generation Z aged 15–25 years and able to use the internet. Data were collected by using the Civic Engagement Scale from Doolittle & Faul (2013) (α=.902), adapted to Indonesian, equipped with 11 open-ended questions to explore preferred types of activities, factors influencing the activities, and motivation of civic engagement from the subjects. The results of the data analysis show that 85% of the subjects have a high level of civic engagement which is highly motivated by wanting to help and benefit others. In addition, Generation Z prefers civic engagement activities in person (offline) rather than online. The present study indicates that Generation Z has a high interest and willingness to participate in civic engagement, in which support from the environment plays an important role in this engagement.

Abstract

Social media is currently the main source of information for internet users. However, information on social media is often contaminated with misinformation and fake news. The popularity of video-based social media has exacerbated this problem. Misinformation in the form of video is easier to believe and spread than in other formats. Previous research has shown that the quality of the video influences the trust people place in the content. Similarly, the way people process information is either intuitive or analytical. This study aims to measure the effect of content quality on trust in misinformation using an experimental method. It also analyses the effect of cognitive style on trust in misinformation. The experiment was conducted with 62 participants divided into two experimental levels: level 1 shows good quality videos (stable, 720p resolution, and good lighting) and level 2 shows poor quality videos (unstable, 240p resolution, and poor lighting). Cognitive styles are measured with an adapted 5-item cognitive reflection test. As the data did not meet the normality assumption, robust regression using R software was used for data analysis. The results of the data analysis showed that both video quality and cognitive style had no significant effect on this study (p = 0.7375). In addition, the Mann Whitney U-Test on the two experimental levels also showed insignificant results (U = 446,000, p = 0.618). Therefore, it can be concluded that in this study, both cognitive styles and video quality did not significantly affect trust in misinformation or fake news.

Abstract

Students have the responsibility to complete the tasks they have to achieve the targets to be achieved but are prone to experiencing stress in working on them. This stress is called academic stress. Academic stress is a state of individual in ability that creates negative perceptions when facing academic demands. Students will experience various difficulties such as difficulty concentrating, confused thoughts, easily distracted and difficult to control emotions. Students who experience academic stress tend to have poor sleep quality. This study aims to see whether there is an effect of academic stress on sleep quality among college students in Jabodetabek. This research is a type of quantitative research approach cross sectional with sample technique, purposive sampling. The research sample is 100 students who are in the Jabodetabek area. This research was tested through the IBM SPSS version 26 application system. The data analysis technique used was simple linear regression. The results of completing the questionnaire are disseminated via online (google forms). The research scale used in the research is The Perception of Academic Stress Scale as a measure of academic stress and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index as a measure of sleep quality. The results showed that academic stress had a significantly negative effect on sleep quality (R = 0.215 and R2 = 0.046) with probability values of -0.118 which indicates a significant level below 0.05 (P<0.05). So it can be concluded that Ha is accepted, which indicates that there is a significant negative effect of academic stress on sleep quality. Where the higher the academic stress of students, the lower the quality of sleep for students in Jabodetabek. So it is hoped that students can manage their time as an effort to minimize academic stress which can affect sleep quality.
