Abstract

This research was carried out in April 2022 - May 2022 which took place at the Aquaculture Technology Hatchery. The purpose of the study was to determine the best probiotic bioflocculant dose in feed to increase growth and survival of baung fish. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment in this study was the addition of probiotic bioflocculants to commercial feed, namely P0 control (without adding probiotics), P1 (5 ml/kg feed), P2 (10 ml/kg feed), P3 (15 ml/kg feed). The results showed that the addition of a probiotic bioflocculant 15 ml/kg of feed was the best result which resulted in an absolute weight growth of 4.04 g, an absolute length growth of 3.17 cm, a specific growth rate of 2.65%, and a survival rate of 97.61%. Water quality parameters during the study were temperature 26-27 0C, pH 6-7 ppm, DO 4.12-5.57 mg/L.

Abstract

Biofloc is a technology using good bacteria to convert organic waste to be food source by fish in the form of floc. This research was carried out in April-May 2021 in the Hatchery and blood observations at the Fish Disease and Parasite Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, University of Riau. The purpose of this study was to determine the health status of eels from the profile of erythrocytes cells and the best stocking density of eels cultivated in biofloc system. While the benefits of this study can be applied to biofloc cultivation and apply it in the field. The research method used one-factor completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatment levels and three replications (12 experimental units) for 40 days . The optimal stocking density of eels in clean water is 6 fish for 10 liters. The treatments in this study were P1: stocking density of 10 fish/25 L, P2: stocking density of 20 fish/25 L, P3: stocking density of 30 fish/25 L, P4: stocking density of 40 fish/25 L. The results showed that the erythrocytes profile of eel with different stocking densities had a significant effect (P<0.05) and the best treatment P3 (30 fish/25 L) with total erythrocytes 2.88x106 cells/mm3, hematocrit level 31.66 %, hemoglobin levels 17.40 g/dL, blood glucose 46.33 g/dL, specific growth rate 93.3%, and feed efficiency 67.46%. Water quality in this study was in normal range, that is temperature 25.7-27.3 oC, pH 7.0-7.8, DO 6.4-8.0 mg/L, and NH3 0.0003-0.00038 mg/L.

Abstract

This research was conducted on April - May 2021, at Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory of Fishery and Marine Science Faculty of Riau University. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of Kirinyuh leaf (Euphatorium odoratum) solvent and the optimal dose on hatching rate of tambaqui larvae (Colossoma macropomum). The method used was a Completely Randomized Design Factorial with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The dose of kirinyuh leaf solvent used was P0 (0 mg/L) P1 (100 mg/L) P2 (120 mg/L) and P3 (140 mg/L). rGH with 3 levels; 0 mg/L (D0), 1.5 mg/L (D1,5) and 2.5 mg/L (D2,5). The immersion duration of kirinyuh leaf solvent is 20 minutes with 100 eggs for the density. The results showed that the use of different doses of kirinyuh leaf solvent gave very real effect to fertilization rate with highiest point (87,33%) following with hatching rate (88,00%), and survival rate (83,66%).

Abstract

Parasites are organisms that live on other organisms that can benefit from the symbiosis, while the host is harmed. This research was conducted from March to Mei 2022 at the Laboratory of Fish Parasites and Diseases, Department of Aquaculture, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine. Trichogaster trichopterus sampling was carried out Feperika Dam, Pekanbaru. The aim of the study was to obtain the prevalence and intensity of the parasite Clinostomum sp. which infects the swamp fish (Trichogaster trichopterus) in Faperika Dam, Pekanbaru. The method used is a survey method and direct observation of the sample. Sampling was carried out three times with sampling points consisting of 3 places, namely: Location 1 is at the entrance of the reservoir, locations 2 and 3 are located to the west and north of location 1 with a distance of each location 50 meters. The results of the identification showed that the sample of bog fish infected with trematode parasites was Clinostomum sp. with prevalence ranging from 93.9-100%, prevalence in locations 1 and 2 (100%), and intensity for each location, namely, at location 1 at 36.9 ind/bird, location 2 at 41.3 ind and location 3 is 34.3 ind.

Abstract

The research was conducted from January to October 2021 at the Laboratory of Fish Parasites and Diseases, Departement of Aquaculture, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, University of Riau. The purpose of this research was to analyze and obtain the best dose of bay leaf solution to treat catfish (Clarias gariepinus) infected with Aeromonas hydrophilla. Bay leaf is a plant that has antibacterial properties in fish because it contains secondary metabolites, namely tannins, saponins, steroids, alkaloids, flavonoids, and essential oils. The method used is an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), one factor with five treatments. The treatment applied is Kn (without immersed with bay leaf solution and not infected by A. hydrophila), Kp (without immersed with bay leaf solution and infected by A. hydrophila), P1 (1000 ppm), P2 (1100 ppm), P3 (1200 ppm). The curing is done by immersed with bay leaf solution for 5 minutes, carried out three times with an interval of 24 hours and then maintained for 14 days after treatment. The result shown that bay leaf solution able to cure catfish infected by A. hydrophila. The best dose was 1200 ppm with average total leukocytes of 12.61 × 104 cells /mm3, leukocyte differentiation (lymphocytes 84.66%, Neutrophils 6.66%, Monocytes 8.66%), phagocytitosis activity is 35.33%, and the survival rate 96.67%.
