Abstract

This study aims to measure the performance of employees in using the mail application information system (SIAP GAKKUM) at the Environmental and Forestry Law Enforcement and Security Center in the Sulawesi region. Because this research is qualitative, the data collection techniques used to achieve the research objectives are observation, interviews, and documentation. There are five informants, namely four employees and the center's head. The results of the study stated that 1) The performance of employees in the use of the correspondence application information system (SIAP GAKKUM) is good, but it is still necessary to hold a training seminar for each employee so that they are more fluent in using the application; 2) There are still many employees who are still not fluent in using or operating the correspondence application information system (SIAP GAKKUM) so that sometimes they have to be assisted by the admin of the correspondence section; and 3) The role of superiors is no less critical in supervising employee performance when using the correspondence application information system (SIAP GAKKUM) because when superiors provide encouragement or motivation, they can use the application better.

Abstract

This study presents a systematic literature review of the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling) management model as a strategic approach to planning the annual programs of PAUD (Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini) units. The review examines how each component of the POAC model contributes to enhancing leadership, improving the quality of planning, and facilitating program implementation in early childhood education settings. Through an extensive thematic analysis of peer-reviewed literature published between 2018 and 2024, the study identifies patterns, strengths, and practical challenges associated with the application of the model in PAUD institutions. Findings indicate that POAC-based management enhances administrative coordination, fosters participative leadership, and supports effective monitoring mechanisms. However, gaps persist in empirical evidence linking POAC to measurable child developmental outcomes, particularly in low-resource educational environments. The study recommends future research that integrates POAC with local context-specific strategies and calls for more evidence on its pedagogical impacts. Overall, this review affirms POAC's potential as a valuable framework for improving the governance and quality of early childhood education in Indonesia.

Abstract

The current state of sectoral performance reveals that Nigeria’s productivity framework is inherently weak in delivering the desired socioeconomic outcomes in terms of employment generation. This study examined the impact of foreign direct investment and diaspora remittances on youth unemployment in Nigeria from 1986 to 2022. This study employed the autoregressive distributed lag (ADL) approach to achieve its objectives. The dependent variable of this study is youth unemployment, while the independent variables are foreign direct investment, remittances, inflation, and real gross domestic product. The data for these variables were sourced from the Central Bank of Nigeria Statistical Bulletin and the National Bureau of Statistics. The key results indicate that all variables are negatively correlated with youth unemployment, although foreign direct investment and inflation exhibit a significant relationship with youth unemployment at the 0.05 significance level. This study recommended, among other things, the need for the Nigerian government to attract foreign direct investment by improving the ease of doing business and promoting economic growth through infrastructure provision, which will also enhance FDI attraction in Nigeria.

Abstract

Regional integration is a crucial strategy to foster economic growth, competitiveness, and political stability among developing countries. This study examines the impact of regional integration on economic growth in the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) using a composite integration index that encompasses trade, finance, infrastructure, production, and the movement of persons. Grounded in endogenous growth theory, particularly the Lucas model, the research highlights human capital, trade openness, and knowledge spillovers as key drivers of long-term growth. Employing dynamic panel data methods and the System GMM estimator, the study addresses challenges such as endogeneity and heterogeneity among member countries. Key variables include regional integration indices, human and physical capital, institutional quality, and exchange rates. Robustness tests confirm the validity of the model. Results show a positive and significant effect of regional integration on economic growth, primarily through trade, finance, infrastructure development, and the free movement of people. In contrast, production integration shows no significant impact. Economic growth persistence is also observed, with past growth strongly predicting future growth across CEN-SAD countries. These findings suggest that strengthening regional integration and addressing structural challenges will likely enhance economic performance and development in the region. Policy implications include promoting greater collaboration in infrastructure, financial markets, and labor mobility to maximize the benefits of growth.

Abstract

Discipline is the key to success, so if someone has undisciplined behavior, it will have a negative impact on themselves and others because it can distance them from success. The objective of this research is to investigate the impact of group guidance on students' disciplinary behavior at SMA Negeri 2 Tarakan. This study adopts a quantitative approach through a pre-experimental method, utilizing a one-group pretest-posttest design to assess changes before and after the intervention. The data collection technique in this study was a questionnaire. Student discipline is reviewed from 3 aspects, namely: 1) order; 2) ability to control oneself; and 3) ability to concentrate. The population of this study was 451 grade XI students at SMA Negeri 2 Tarakan. The sample in this study consisted of 12 students, selected through a simple random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistical methods, with the assistance of SPSS version 25 software. The results of the study indicate that during the pretest phase, students' discipline levels were categorized as high and very high, with an average score of 156.7. Following the implementation of the posttest, the average score increased to 175.3, remaining within the very high category. Hypothesis testing using a paired sample t-test (parametric) revealed a significance value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05. This result leads to the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha) and the rejection of the null hypothesis (Ho), indicating that group guidance has a significant effect on student discipline at SMA Negeri 2 Tarakan.
