Devotion: Jurnal Pengabdian Psikologi is a journal devoted to the development of Psychology as a scientific discipline published by the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Pancasila. To achieve these objectives, Devotion: Jurnal Pengabdian Psikologi presents scientific texts from various branches of psychology: Developmental and Clinical Psychology, Social and Cultural Psychology, Business Psychology & Industrial Psychology and Organization, Educational and School Psychology, Psychometry and Psychological Measurement. Published scientific papers are the results of research that have been achieved in community service, development and application of science and technology from the results of community service activities, concepts or implementation in order to increase community participation in development, empowerment or implementation of community service. To ensure the quality of each scientific text published, the Editorial Board and Peer Reviews reviewed the manuscript. Devotion: Jurnal Pengabdian Psikologi is published twice a year, in May and November.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic appears to have spread and is having an impact on educational institutions' learning processes, as well as producing numerous psychological pressures that are detrimental to students' academic welfare. Students are subjected to continuous stress, which, if not addressed promptly and correctly, can lead to worsening and potentially dangerous problems. Therefore, the coping mechanism program is thought to be capable of assisting students in developing and executing optimal stress management methods in all academic activities. From January to May 2021, students from Barana Toraja Utara Christian High School class X-XII participated in community service activities (PkM). The exercise took the form of coping mechanism training . The results of the activity imply that students can use academic activities to develop coping skills in order to reduce stress and increase excitement and aggression in studying.

Abstract

Teenagers live among the hustle bustle world, which makes them constantly have to think about anticipating problems and career in the future, to find solutions and solving problems in the past. These two conditions, added with the problem of their task to settle their identity often make adolescents stress, have relationship problems, experience certain psychological symptoms or disorders, and do not fully live in the moment. Mindfulness method is believed as a method that helps teen to live in the present. They can be fully focuses on what they are doing the moment, increase responsiveness and awareness while experiencing emotional distress This mindfulness method will be given in the webinar for Athalia High School students, consist of information and practical tips of mindfulness. The webinar will consist of two sessions, a conceptual introduction session on the theory and uses of mindfulness for adolescents and a mindfulness training session, with each session lasting 45 minutes. The question and answer session will conclude the webinar, followed by a survey of evaluation on the webinar.

Abstract

In general, Anxiety is characterized by worry, anxiety, fear, anxiety, restlessness, panic, and other uncomfortable feelings. If the elderly who experience anxiety, it will be declining health which influences financial, social and emotional. Behavior Intervention for this activity uses psychoeducation and relaxation exercise. Psychoeducation to explain anxiety disorder experienced by the elderly by using short lectures and discussion between participants. After that, participants begin relaxation exercises, to release muscle tension in each body. Participants in this activity were the elderly aged 60-65 years totaling five people. After being given psychoeducation, it was able to increase the knowledge of all participants about the symptoms and the factors causing anxiety. Through relaxation exercises, helping to practice when the symptoms of anxiety appear so that they become relaxed, more comfortable, less nervous, focused and confident. It can be concluded that the subjects who participated in this intervention had an increased understanding of the symptoms and factors causing anxiety. Skills for coping anxiety were also increased through the relaxation exercises provided.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of training in home composting for residents in Batan Indah Tangerang housing estate. A total of 20 residents of the Batan Indah participated in the home composting training by BRIN (National Research and Innovation Agency). Only 12 residents participated to fill the training effectiveness questionnaire. The results show that although there are still obstacles to composting, home composting effectively increases other pro-environmental behaviors (spill-over behavior). After the training, there is an increase in the intensity of sorting waste behavior and a reduction in wastefulness. Home composting is still seen as an effective strategy to create a sustainable environment at the household level.

Abstract

One of handling the COVID-19 pandemic that carried out by BNPB is to form a volunteers of psychology, to provide psychological counseling services to communities those affected by the pandemic. Psychological counseling services are carried out online using the psychological first aid methods. This service is a form of community service that is carried out remotely through the Zoom Meeting. The advantage of it is that reaches more people throughout Indonesia, even for those who have never previously received counseling psychology services. One of the psychological counseling services is provided to a housewife who lives in Solo, while the counselor provides services from Jakarta. The service is provided in two meetings via Zoom Meeting with each meeting lasting 2 hours. After twice receiving psychological counseling services using the psychological first aid methods, especially training on grounding techniques when experiencing stress, the client felt much better. Although this counseling psychology service is provided remotely where there are some obstacles, it still has a positive impact on clients.
