Abstract

This study focuses on how education innovation efforts in teacher competency improvement was done through teacher peadagogic, personal, social, and professional competencies empowerment. This research is a field research using a qualitative approach conducted in Tulungagung, East Java dated January to June 2013. Result of this research was that the Education Department of Tulungagung District has made education innovation in serious efforts to improve teachers' competence, including: (1) Educational seminars, (2) Teacher training, (3) Intensive teachers professional development, (4) Teachership Workshop, (5) Subject teacher group discussion strengthenment, (6) Learning design and approach training, (7) Classroom Action Research Training, and (8) Intensive supervision, such as empowerment of teacher peadagogic, personal, social, and professional competencies.

Abstract

This paper describes problems pertaining teachers assigned in the rural areas in the whole Indonesia are inconvenient to work and leave the sites. This paper argues that salient problems exist in terms of triviality field condition, performance motivation, incentive, and lax of implementation management. Evidently, policy made by the decision makers in upper to the lower level of policy makers contributes ineffective supports of teachers ’ needs and necessities in the sites. The effectiveness of Law on Teacher and Lecturer is problematic stipulated for the teachers problems in rural and remote areas.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to see the effect of: principal leadership, performance motivation, and principal leadership and performance motivation toward teacher ’ performance. The study used correlationl design involving 23 teachers as sample. Instruent used for the study is questionnaire. The study found the following findings. Descriptive statistic showed that three aspects being investigated are good, in terms of principal leadership, teacher competence, and teachers ’ performance. Results of hypothesis testing showed that significant effect was contributed in terms of (1) principal leadership toward teacher ’s performance (r=2.599, p=0.05), (2) performance motivation towards teacher performance (r= 3.160, p=0.05), and (3) leadership and performance motivation towards teacher performance (F = 8.48, p=0.05).

Abstract

This study is aimed at seeing improvement of studnets cognitive learning achievement and teacher activities in food biotechnology subject. The study used Classroom Action Research with two cycles and assigned 30 students of the IX grade of MTs Sunan Ampel, Siman Kepung in 2014/2015. Data were colledted using test and observation. The study found that teaching model using problem-based learning improves teachers ’ classroom activities. Cycle I found students activity 62.5% (fair) increasing to 69.7% (good) in cycle II. Learning mastery increased from 52% in cycle I into 85% in cycle II. Students supplied positive responses on the implementation of problem-based learning model in teaching food biotechnology.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze relationship between perception in implementing TGT, Reward and Punishment techniques, learning motivation toward learning achievement in Civic education subject. The study took place in SDN I Ngrejo Tulungagung assigning the 34 fifth graders. This study used correlational design and data were collected using questionnaire and test. Data were analyzed using multiple regression techniques. The study found that (1) positive relationship between TGT, reward and punishment and learning achievement exists at .946; (2) positive relationship between learning motivation and learning achievement is .965; (3) positive relationship altogether between TGT, reward and punishment, and learning motivation towards learning achievement is .844.

Abstract

This study investigates how Think-Pair-Share techniquesimprove motivation and students ’ participation in learningmathematics. The design of this study is classroom actionresearch implementing four phases: planning, implementing,observing, and reflection. The subject of this study is the XIIgrade students of Multimedia Department of SMKN 1Balikpapan. This study implements three cycles where everycycle has two meetings. Data are collected using observationand test conducted at the end of every cycle. The study showsthat learning activities in every cycle improve. The averagescores in the every cycle shows that 45.8, 80,9 and 89,5respectively in cycle I, cycle II, and cycle III.

Abstract

This study focuses on the implementation of cooperativelearning models to increase achievement on rules of qolqolah inreading the holly Alquran. The subject of this study is the fifthgrade students of SDN 027 Balikpapan. This study usesclassroom action research design with two cycles. The resultsof classroom participation indicate that an increase is achievedfrom 40% in the cycle I into 72% in the cycle II. The masterylearning also increases from 64% to 100% respectively in cycle Iand cycle II. This study concludes that teaching reading rules ofqolqolah in reading Alquran using cooperative learningincreases students learning activities and readingcomprehension.

Abstract

This article reviews philosophy of early stage children inperspectives of theory, beneficial, and law enforcement in educationcontext of in Indonesian government policy. Theoretically, earlychildhood is a golden era where children get benefits for thedevelopment of psychomotor and cognitive performance. This way,multiple intelligences are crucial potential teachers and parentsshould develop. The higher development early children wouldachieve is potential literacy where critical thinking, characters, andcapacity building would be relied upon. Government policy devotedto this context should inditace strong policy, such as curriculum forchildren and law enforcement ensuring children to receive theirrights and protection.
