Abstract

Learning motivation is critical for students because it can improve student learning activities such as having a passion for learning, participating in active learning activities, and achieving optimal learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the effect of learning motivation on the learning activities of grade XI students at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar. Learning motivation is an important factor that influences the quality and quantity of student involvement in the learning process. This study uses a quantitative approach; this study involved 63 grade XI students as research samples selected through proportional random sampling techniques. Data was collected through a questionnaire consisting of two main parts: learning motivation and learning activities. The results indicated that the indicators for each variable revealed learning motivation to be in the low category, whereas student learning activities were categorized as high. The indicators of learning motivation were intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. Indicators of learning activities were viewing activities, oral activities, and listening activities. Based on a simple linear regression analysis, it was concluded that there was a significant influence between learning motivation and student learning activities at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar.

Abstract

This study analyzes the correlation between classroom management and students’ learning outcomes in the Department of Office Management and Business Services at SMK Negeri 4 Makassar. A quantitative associative approach was employed with 63 respondents selected from a population of 75 students. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression. The results show that classroom management and learning outcomes are categorized as satisfactory and high, respectively. The correlation coefficient (r = 0.278) indicates a positive but low correlation, with a determination value (R² = 0.077) meaning that classroom management explains only 7.7% of the variation in learning outcomes. Although the effect size is relatively small, the relationship is statistically significant (p < 0.05), suggesting that well-organized classroom environments contribute to better academic achievement. This study highlights that other factors beyond classroom management also influence learning outcomes. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on classroom management within vocational education, which differs from regular schools due to its applied learning orientation and discipline-based environment. The findings contribute to understanding how classroom organization supports effective learning in vocational settings.

Abstract

Learning facilities have a major role in improving the quality of learning. Adequate facilities can create This study aims to determine the description of administrative management in carrying out school administration services at SMKN 1 Gowa. This study focuses on planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising school administration services. The research instruments used are observation and interview guidelines. The data collection technique employed in this study involves testing for data validity through credibility assessment. The data obtained were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana analysis model. Based on the results of the study, it shows that administrative management in carrying out administrative services at SMKN 1 Gowa is in a "fairly good" condition. This can be seen from the aspects of (1) administrative planning in carrying out school administration services by recruiting administrative staff, formulating the division of tasks and obligations of each staff member, and procuring any resources needed during the implementation. (2) Organizing administration in carrying out school administration services by determining the distribution of facilities and infrastructure that will later support the implementation of administrative management and creating a detailed concept for the mechanism for dividing administrative staff tasks. (3) Implementation of administration in running school administration services by carrying out or fulfilling planned activities and identifying what things need to be paid attention to in the process of implementing these activities. (4) Supervision of administration in running school administration services by confirming the preparation and implementation of tasks carried out and carrying out monitoring every two months or per semester to find out what obstacles there are during the implementation process.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the pattern of parent–child dyadic interpersonal communication in motivating children's learning in RT 05, Pantai Amal Baru Village. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation involving four parents and two children as research informants. The analysis was based on DeVito’s interpersonal communication theory, which includes five dimensions: openness, empathy, supportiveness, positiveness, and equality. The findings revealed that the quality of dyadic interpersonal communication varied among families. The first family demonstrated a higher level of openness, empathy, supportiveness, positive attitudes, and equality compared to the second family. Parents who actively communicated, listened to children's experiences, provided emotional support, and involved children in communication tended to foster stronger learning motivation. Conversely, limited interaction caused by occupational demands and economic factors reduced the intensity of communication and parental involvement in children's education. Nevertheless, children generally showed openness and willingness to communicate with their parents regarding their learning experiences. The study concludes that effective dyadic interpersonal communication characterized by openness, empathy, supportiveness, positive attitudes, and equality plays an important role in enhancing children's learning motivation. Therefore, strengthening the quality of communication between parents and children is essential to create a supportive family environment for children's educational development.

Abstract

Academic libraries play a strategic role in supporting learning processes through the provision of learning resources, academic facilities, and information services that meet students’ needs. Technological advancements and changes in student learning patterns require libraries to continuously improve their facilities to create effective and adaptive learning environments. This study aimed to analyze students’ needs regarding library facilities as a basis for developing facilities that support effective learning at Universitas Negeri Makassar. A quantitative approach with a descriptive research design was employed. The population consisted of all students of Universitas Negeri Makassar, while the sample comprised 100 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire distributed to students who were actively utilizing library facilities during the research period. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequencies, percentages, and mean scores. The findings revealed that all library facility indicators were rated in the high to very high categories. Library Layout obtained the highest mean score (4.28), followed by Book Collections (4.25), Internet Access (4.24), Space Capacity (4.22), and Technological Facilities (4.11). These results indicate that the library facilities generally meet students’ needs and contribute to effective learning. Nevertheless, the development of technological facilities should be prioritized to enhance library services and respond more effectively to the growing demands of digital learning. This study recommends strengthening technological infrastructure, expanding access to electronic information resources, and conducting regular evaluations of user needs as a foundation for sustainable library facility development.
