Abstract

Malnutrition in children is still a public health problem in various countries, especially low- and middle-income countries, especially the problem of undernutrition (wasting, stunting, underweight). Specific nutritional intervention strategies are needed to improve the nutritional status of children under the age of five. This literature review study was conducted to summarize various nutritional education interventions that have been carried out in the last 3 years and their relationship to improving knowledge and nutritional status of toddlers. The literature search was sourced from various electronic databases (ProQuest, Science Direct, and Springer Link). The type of research used in this literature review is experimental research so that the differences in the effects of the nutritional education interventions carried out can be seen. The main results obtained are that nutritional education has an effect on increasing the knowledge of mothers and caregivers of toddlers regarding the necessary nutritional science and also has an effect on the average z-score and even reducing the number of malnutrition. Providing adequate additional food can strengthen the positive impact on improving the nutritional status of toddlers which runs linearly with the provision of nutritional education. Nutrition education also has an effect on increasing knowledge of the importance of monitoring growth and food diversity at the household level which also has an indirect effect on the nutritional status of toddlers. Nutrition education can be done with several methods and nutritional content according to needs and targets. More nutritional education interventions are needed with appropriate adjustments to methods, needs, and targets as an effort to prevent and reduce malnutrition rates in toddlers.

Abstract

Preeclampsia is a serious pregnancy complication characterized by hypertension and proteinuria after 20 weeks of gestation. It is a leading cause of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality worldwide. Various factors contribute to its development, including genetic predispositions and environmental influences such as air pollution. Urban areas, with their high levels of particulate matter and gaseous pollutants, are increasingly being recognized for their detrimental effects on maternal health. This study aims to analyze the relationship between exposure to urban air pollution and the risk of preeclampsia in third-trimester pregnant women. A quantitative observational approach is used, employing data from peer-reviewed journal articles published between 2020 and 2024. The analysis focuses on the correlation between air pollution exposure, especially fine particulate matter (PM2.5), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and sulfur dioxide (SO2), and the incidence of preeclampsia. Findings from multiple studies indicate a significant association between elevated air pollution levels and an increased risk of preeclampsia, particularly among women exposed to high concentrations of PM2.5 during the third trimester. The evidence suggests that air pollution exacerbates vascular dysfunction, leading to increased blood pressure and placental circulation impairment, which are key factors in the development of preeclampsia. These results highlight the urgent need for public health interventions to reduce air pollution exposure in urban areas, especially for pregnant women in their third trimester.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine predictors of accessibility to community health services among older adults and to examine the relationship between knowledge, self-efficacy, and use of these services. A quantitative, descriptive-correlational, and cross-sectional research design was used. Participants were selected by probabilistic random sampling in identified communities to ensure representativeness. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire that assessed knowledge about available services, confidence in access to care, and perception of accessibility. Descriptive statistics were used to determine the levels of the main variables, while correlational, comparative, and regression analyses were applied to examine relationships, demographic differences, and predictive factors. The results indicated that knowledge and self-efficacy were significantly associated with accessibility to community health services. Higher levels of knowledge and greater self-efficacy correlated with a better perception of access to care. The selected demographic variables also showed significant differences in accessibility. Knowledge and self-efficacy emerged as significant predictors of accessibility to health services. The results of this study underscore the importance of strengthening health education, capacity-building strategies, and community interventions to improve equitable access to health services among older adults.

Abstract

Environmental microplastics have become a critical environmental health concern, yet the extent of their impact on human health remains insufficiently resolved due to heterogeneity in particle properties, exposure pathways, and methodological translation. This study aims to synthesize how environmental microplastics may affect human health from the perspective of modern environmental health, with particular attention to exposure realism, plausibility of mechanisms, and uncertainty in risk interpretation. Methodologically, it employs a library-based research design using primary and secondary literature sources related to microplastics, human health, and modern environmental health concepts, followed by content analysis to identify recurring thematic patterns and relationships. The reviewed literature data indicate consistent evidence of multi-route exposure pathways and recurring mechanistic hypotheses such as inflammation and oxidative stress, while significant uncertainty persists in dose estimation, mixture effects, and comparability across studies. The study concludes that microplastics are plausibly health-relevant but require strengthened translational evidence to support decision-grade risk assessments within modern environmental health practice.

Abstract

HIV/AIDS remains one of the major global health challenges with a high prevalence rate in many countries, including Indonesia. HIV transmission is closely related to behavioral factors, social stigma, and limited access to healthcare services. This study aims to analyze the implications of HIV/AIDS for transmission prevention strategies, including medical approaches, education, and community-based interventions. The findings indicate that the success of HIV transmission prevention is strongly influenced by public understanding, the availability of antiretroviral therapy (ART), and social support for People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). Therefore, prevention efforts must involve continuous education, universal access to ART, and the reduction of stigma and discrimination.

Abstract

This study evaluates the impact of digital health policies on the efficiency and quality of nutritional care at the primary care level, with a particular focus on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI). As primary care centers face challenges in delivering efficient and quality nutrition services, digital health technologies, especially AI-based tools, have emerged as potential solutions. This research reviews existing literature to explore how digital health policies, particularly those incorporating AI, have transformed nutritional care by improving service delivery, personalizing care, and enhancing access to underserved populations. Findings indicate that AI-driven tools help healthcare providers streamline administrative tasks, personalize nutritional assessments, and improve patient outcomes. However, challenges such as limited infrastructure, ethical concerns, and the need for healthcare worker training remain significant barriers to full implementation. The study suggests that while digital health policies hold promise, their effectiveness depends on addressing these challenges and ensuring proper support at the primary care level.

Abstract

Stunting remains a serious public health problem in Indonesia. Although the prevalence of stunting has shown a downward trend in recent years, it remains at a level that requires ongoing attention and intervention. The First 1000 Days of Life (HPK) program has become the government's primary strategy for preventing stunting from pregnancy to two years of age. However, the program's implementation still faces various obstacles, such as limited access to information, poor quality child growth monitoring, suboptimal early detection systems, and limited health data integration. This article aims to develop a conceptual model for stunting prevention based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital technology as an innovative approach to support the effectiveness of the 1000 HPK program in Indonesia. The research uses a conceptual method with a literature review approach of various research, policies, and developments in digital health technology. The study results show that integrating AI into the health system can improve the ability to predict stunting risks, strengthen maternal and child health monitoring systems, provide more personalized nutrition recommendations, and enhance the effectiveness of data-driven decision-making. The developed model consists of five main components: digital data collection, AI-based predictive analysis, an early warning system, personalized health interventions, and ongoing evaluation. Implementing this model has the potential to accelerate the achievement of the national stunting reduction target while supporting the digital transformation of the health sector in Indonesia.
