Abstract

The death penalty for perpetrators of corruption crimes is regulated in Article 2 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes jo. Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes (hereinafter referred to as the PTPK Law). The death penalty is imposed on perpetrators of corruption crimes with crimes that harm state finances under certain circumstances, namely perpetrators of corruption crimes commit corruption when the state is in danger in accordance with applicable laws, when a national natural disaster occurs, as a repetition of corruption crimes, or when the country is in a state of economic and monetary crisis. However, in Indonesia, the death penalty for convicted corruptors is still minimal, even corruption of the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Juliari Batubara, was not sentenced to death and received leniency by a judge in a different trial than in China, even though the death penalty or uitvoering provides a deterrent effect for corrupt perpetrators that correlates with the eradication of corruption. This type of research is normative research. The result of this study is that the regulation of the death penalty in Indonesia is already contained in the Criminal Code and the special criminal law of the death penalty is also found in the Drug Law, the Terrorism Law, the Human Rights Court Law and PTPK. Both in general and special criminal law, the death penalty is only given to extra ordinary or very cruel crimes that have an impact on a wide audience. Indonesia has similarities in the application of the death penalty with China, namely providing the death penalty for corruption crimes and has carried out more executions of corruption convicts than Indonesia. Both countries prioritize human rights, so that the imposition of the death penalty has a waiting period and changes to life imprisonment if the convict shows efforts to improve commendable behavior and actions as well as the right to apply for clemency. The death penalty as the ultimate remidium in Indonesia has not been effective so that it cannot produce a deterrent effect for the eradication of corruption in Indonesia.

Abstract

Social inequality remains a persistent challenge in many Muslim-majority countries, despite the existence of Islamic economic principles that emphasize justice, inclusivity, and welfare distribution. This study aims to evaluate the application of Islamic economic values in real policy implementations and their impact on marginalized communities. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method guided by the PRISMA protocol, a total of 425 initial records from reputable databases were screened, resulting in 20 eligible articles for in-depth analysis. The findings indicate that the integration of Islamic social finance instruments—such as zakat, waqf, and qard al-hasan—alongside innovative financing models and targeted mentoring programs, significantly improves both material and spiritual welfare indicators among low-income groups. Evidence from multiple empirical studies suggests that religious framing, cost reduction, and strong community engagement enhance participation and program effectiveness. However, challenges such as governance quality, limited social participation outcomes, and weak integration with broader economic policies still limit long-term impact. The review concludes that revitalizing the Islamic economic system requires a holistic and context-sensitive approach, aligning financial instruments with capacity building, digital innovation, and policy integration to effectively reduce inequality and foster sustainable welfare.

Abstract

This study examines the decision to replace an aging palletiser machine using discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, employing standard corporate metrics such as Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Discounted Payback Period (DPP). The analysis demonstrates that replacing the machine results in a positive NPV of approximately IDR 2.80 billion, an IRR of 25.8% that exceeds the company’s WACC of 11.2%, and a discounted payback period of about six years. These results remain favorable even under realistic perturbations, such as a ±20% change in maintenance escalation and ±2 percentage points in WACC. Retaining the machine, with escalating maintenance costs and a compressed Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), would only be beneficial under highly unlikely conditions, such as near-flat wear-out rates or negligible downtime costs. The replacement decision provides a clear value proposition for shareholders by minimizing long-term operational risks, such as unpredictable downtime and increasing maintenance expenses. Additionally, the study highlights the importance of using a super-linear escalation model for late-life maintenance costs, which more accurately reflects the growing costs associated with aging assets. The findings support a repeatable approach to capital budgeting decisions, offering companies a robust framework for resolving similar “repair or replace” dilemmas across their asset base. Ultimately, the study concludes that replacing the aging palletiser maximizes shareholder value, aligns with corporate policy thresholds, and remains a sound investment even in the face of potential uncertainties in the operational environment.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of polyherbal tea consisting of fenugreek, Moringa oleifera, and Sauropus androgynus on breast milk production and quality, as well as the health of breastfeeding mothers. The method used was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) based on PRISMA 2020, where studies were identified through a systematic search in the Scopus database using relevant keywords. Data were extracted from studies that met the inclusion criteria and were evaluated to determine the effectiveness and safety of polyherbal teas. The results showed that polyherbal tea supplementation has the potential to increase breast milk production by stimulating the hormones prolactin and oxytocin. Fenugreek and Moringa oleifera significantly increase milk production and change the nutritional profile of breast milk for the better, including increased unsaturated fatty acid content and antioxidant capacity. Sauropus androgynus leaves also show potential as galactogogues and maternal health supporters. In addition, this herbal supplementation provides additional benefits for maternal health, such as improved nutritional status and reduced fatigue. These findings are important because they provide stronger scientific evidence to support the use of herbal supplements in clinical practice, as well as suggesting that polyherbal teas can be an effective natural alternative in improving milk production and quality and supporting the health of breastfeeding mothers. Further research is needed to determine the optimal dosage and long-term effects of these herbal supplements, as well as to understand the synergistic interactions between the herbal ingredients. Relevant keywords for this study included: polyherbal tea, galactagogue, breast milk production, breast milk quality, fenugreek, Moringa oleifera, Sauropus androgynus, and breastfeeding maternal health.
