Abstract

This research was conducted to find out the social life of female workers after becoming a worker of dimly lit stalls in Lasitae Village, Barru Regency and to find out the economic life of female workers after becoming a worker of dimly lit stalls in Lasitae Village, Barru Regency The type of research used is descriptive qualitative using purposive sampling technique, namely data collection by means of observation, interview and documentation.In this study the data analysis techniques used are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that the social life of dimang shop workers is divided into 2 indicators, namely: social environment and education, found while in the economic life of dimly lit shop workers are also divided into 2, namely: income and fulfillment of needs.

Abstract

This study examines the form of post-harvest land use in Majelling Village, the constraints and strategies used by farmers in post-harvest land use, and the implications of post-harvest land use on the economy and ecology. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interviews and documentation methods involving 22 (twenty two) informants. The results showed that: (1) The form of land use post-harvest rice carried out by farmers by rotating crops with intercropped crops, namely secondary crops. (2) the obstacles encountered and have been going on for quite a long time, namely the problem of water supply to agricultural land being hampered. The strategy that farming communities apply to support the sustainability of their agriculture in the third planting season during the dry season is to see the suitability of plants and the selection of the best varieties. (3) The economic and ecological implications have a close relationship in improving the economy of farmers, with the selection of the right plants the selling value of the food commodities that farmers grow will increase, Ecologically by continuing to plant land during the dry season by rotating crops, it has an impact on stability in the environment. Soil pH and soil productivity are maintained.

Abstract

This paper focuses on the Buginesse live in Sunda Kelapa Port. Generally, Port of Sunda Kelapa can be viewed as a connective center of voyage network broader people. By the encountering various cultures will enrich the horizon of Indonesian voyage world. This research will the culture translated in technological and social changes in seafarers' societies in Port of Sunda Kelapa. Before the presence of machine technology the sailors go trough of a long journey from Sunda Kelapa Port to other ports. For example, the trip from Palembang to Surabaya in the age of sail technology, it will take long time according to weather. But after the presence of machine technology, the journey is faster and the boats mobilization are more flexible, of course it has many positives impact to sailors income. The biggest challenge faced by the sail boats is the existence of the huge boats as big as tonnage with more loads, there is an unbalance competition between the traditional boats and the container boats. This research is a historical study by using qualitative method. Next the data will be processed in such manner by using historical method, like heuristic, critic, interpretation, and historiography.

Abstract

This research aims to find out about: 1) The process of determining the day for Javanese selapanan in Batu village, Pitumpanua sub-district, Wajo district; 2) The process of implementing selapanan in Batu village, Pitumpanua sub-district, Wajo district; 3) The meaning and function of selapanan for the Javanese community in Batu village, Pitumpanua subdistrict, Wajo district. In this research, researchers used descriptive qualitative research. The informants chosen were Javanese people who live in Batu village, Pitumpanua subdistrict, Wajo district. The researchers collected data by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research show that there are: 1) Selapanan traditions in Batu Village, Pitumpanua District, Wajo Regency, carried out when the baby reaches the age of 35 days or one month; 2) The process of implementing selapanan is carried out when the baby is 35 days old, inviting guests, preparation, distribution of bancaan; 3) The meaning of selapanan is as a celebration of the birth of a baby asking for protection, and hope for good growth, the function of selapanan is as a means of asking for prayers so that the baby will be given protection and smooth growth.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the process of Longko' culture forming the ethics of the Toraja people, the views of the Toraja people on longko culture, and what values ​​are contained in longko' culture. This study used a qualitative type with the technique of determining the informants selected by purposive sampling with a total of 6 research informants namely religious leaders, traditional leaders and the people of Toraja. Data collection is done through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that: 1) Longko' culture concerns community ethics, concerns feelings and self-esteem where the longko' culture has been instilled by parents in each individual to behave, behave politely, respect and not treat parents. 2) Longko' culture which means dignity and society views this longko' culture positively with enthusiasm and hard work, and is able to give a good influence and there is an ingrained feeling of shame for not doing things that are not good and or not doing things carelessly. 3) Longko' culture has self-awareness values, politeness values ​​such as greeting when meeting, kissing parents' hands when saying goodbye, human values ​​such as respecting parents, maintaining the good name of the family, obeying parents' advice, the dignity and value of tongkonan, family values, for example, attitudes of trust and values ​​that come from oneself.

Abstract

Based on the results of the study show that, (1) nobles can be distinguished from other communities by looking at the embedding of the title of Andi in front of his name, but not only that. Nobility also has four qualities that must be possessed in the nobility of Lempu, Getteng, and Temmappasilaingeng. In addition, nobles also have a gentle and respectful attitude towards others; (2) the nobility still wants to maintain and continue the legitimacy of the leadership in Bone Regency which was inherited by the previous Kings of Bone, because the democratic space of the community is wide for anyone who is competent and capable of being able to occupy a position at the bureaucratic level of Bone Regency. the public that the leader in Bone must be from the descendants of the nobility or descendants of the previous kings to create justice in the midst of society; (3) bureaucratic conditions in terms of kin relations "are still very thick". This is because the condition of the bureaucracy is still filled with a series of noble names, but neither the nobility nor the people involved in the recruitment of bureaucracy is only looking at the status of relatives but is chosen through a recruitment process that prioritizes the ability and capability to become candidates for officials in Bone's bureaucracy (4) The presence and dominance of nobles in the bureaucracy in Bone regency, and the existence of nobles in the bureaucracy of Bone Regency were apparently due to the aristocratic strategy itself, awareness of the nobility who realized that they had the lineage of respected and respected leaders so motivated to follow trace the steps. Also adhering to the principle of nobility of his ancestors was used as a guideline in his life so that his honor and being able to be respected as a nobility remained in his possession.

Abstract

This research aims to find out: (1) how teenagers start and live friends with benefits (FWB) relationships in social circles in Makassar City; (2) the impact of the friends with benefits (FWB) phenomenon on teenagers in Makassar City; (3) solution to the friends with benefits phenomenon among teenagers in Makassar City. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, documentation and interviews. The number of informants in this study was 11 teenagers who lived in Makassar City and had an age range of 17 to 23 years who were or had been involved in friends with benefits (FWB) relationships. Data obtained from research results were processed using qualitative research methods through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. Data validation techniques use data triangulation techniques or source triangulation. The research results show that 1. Adolescents starting and undergoing friends with benefits (FWB) relationships in Makassar City are influenced by factors: (1) Adolescent Internal Factors and (2) Adolescent External Factors, which consist of (a) Family Factors (b) ) Adolescent Social Factors (c) Experiencing Problems with Previous Relationships or Relationships that Involve Feelings (d) There are Benefits to be Obtained in a Friends With Benefits Relationship and (e) It's Easy to Start and End a Friends With Benefits Relationship

Abstract

This paper describes the socio-cultural heritage of the Bugis people in South Sulawesi from the perspective of sociology. The study approach in this research is historical sociology, which is intended to explore the socio-cultural values ​​of the past as a legacy that needs to be preserved. The life of the Bugis people throughout its history is very interesting to study, at least as a comparison with the reality of life now, namely after one of the ethnic groups in Sulawesi Province was influenced by modernization. This sociological study of Bugis society begins with a brief description of Bugis people and the world, social interactions, kinship systems, social stratification, social mobility, and social changes in Bugis society. Contact with the outside world and the Bugis people's penchant for wandering, caused this ethnic group to develop rapidly and even history records that the Bugis people built a center of government and became rulers of the kingdom in the archipelago.

Abstract

This study aims to find out: (1) How are the efforts made by the people of Julubori Village, Pallangga District, Gowa Regency in maintaining a'coto culture. (2) The value and meaning of a'coto culture in the people of Julubori Village, Pallangga District, Gowa Regency. To achieve this goal, the researchers used data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The data obtained from the research results were processed using qualitative analysis with a descriptive-analytic approach to the implementation of a'coto culture in the people of Julubori Village, Pallangga District, Gowa Regency. Based on the results of this study indicate that, (1) The efforts made by the people of Julubori Village in maintaining a'coto culture are by continuing to practice it and teaching their children as the next generation about the traditions or habits passed down from their ancestors. (2) The values ​​and meanings of the a'coto culture in the people of Julubori Village, namely the kinship values, mutual cooperation values ​​and economic values. The meaning contained in the implementation of a'coto culture is a form of gratitude to God Almighty because he is still given fortune and trust in its implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to find out: knowing how the spirit, enthusiasm, and support of Javanese work in the Sub-district of Makassar, knowing how the Javanese interact with local communities in Makassar Sub-district, and knowing how Javanese develop work and business strategies in Makassar Sub-District. In this study used a type of qualitative research that was analyzed and written descriptively. The technique of data collection is done by using the method of observation, interviews, and documentation by involving as many as 10 informants. Based on the results of the study showed that: (1) the spirit, enthusiasm, and work support of Javanese people in the Makassar sub-district were the work spirit believed by the Javanese namely unyielding and abstinence and upholding honesty and having the principle of not working certainly not eating then spirit hard work and also supported by adequate transportation. (2) the Javanese interaction the researcher divides into three parts, namely in the social, work and marital relationships where in the Javanese relations that are intertwined with the local community are classified as harmonious between the two, but in relations in the work there is still a little conflict, and also some of them have had kinship. (3) As for the Javanese work and business strategies that he has built, that is, each individual has a different work strategy depending on the individual.
