Abstract

This study aims to determine the process of implementing A'matoang in Bontotiro Village, Rumbia District, Jeneponto Regency. This research uses a type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were obtained through observation, interviews, documents and documentation involving several informants. The results of this study indicate that the process of implementing A'matoang in Bontotiro Village, Rumbia District, Jeneponto Regency consists of several stages, namely the preparation and implementation stages. At the preparatory stage is the stage of preparing the items to be brought when going to do A'matoang such as cupboards, sarongs, clothes, pots and bags, then the bride is escorted to the man's house, after arriving at the man's house the items inheritance left to the male side of the family. Furthermore, the implementation stage begins with the bride visiting her parents-in-law's house and handing over the luggage to the male family which is carried out by the bride.

Abstract

This study examines the eating patterns and habits of the people in Benteng Somba Opu Village, Gowa Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the views of the people in the Benteng Somba Opu village regarding halal and good food, eating patterns and habits in the community as well as internal and external factors of eating habits in the community. This study uses qualitative data with descriptive analysis. The results showed that the eating patterns and habits of the people in the Benteng Somba Opu Village, Gowa Regency, were influenced by the way of obtaining food sources, eating habits, the family's economic level, and the surrounding environment. The external factors that influence eating patterns and habits are culture, religion, economic factors, media and advertising, while internal factors that can influence eating patterns and habits are emotional associations, physical condition, food availability and the family tradition itself.

Abstract

This article describes strategies that communities can adopt in the aftermath of natural disasters. Literature study is a method used in research, to describe a series of activities related to secondary data collection techniques. By reading and recording and processing research materials which are then reviewed by the researcher. The data is analyzed through the stages of recording important and relevant parts related to research problems and then compiled for analysis and drawing conclusions. The research output of this article is that post-disaster community adaptation is an interaction process of various forms of individual, group or community adjustment to the physical and social environment to achieve community survival and development in various aspects of life. For example, people may adopt active strategies such as finding additional work, engaging in mutual aid, or relying on assistance from social institutions. On the other hand, there are also passive strategies such as reducing spending to meet daily needs or following certain religious traditions in the face of natural disasters, including economic, social and cultural adaptation. Factors that influence community adaptation strategies after natural disasters involve economic and social aspects. Awareness of the importance of improving environmental conditions, strong social interaction and emotional attachment to the living environment play a key role in the adaptation process.

Abstract

This research aims to discuss arranged marriages in Rappolemba Village. This type of research method is case study research with a qualitative research approach. The informants in this research are those who can answer the research questions. This research uses data collection techniques by conducting observations, interviews and documentation which are then analyzed through three stages, namely, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that 1) the process of child matchmaking in Rappolemba Village, Gowa Regency, namely: (a) A'kuta'kuta'nang process (b) Mange Assuro process (c) Panai' Balanja process, (d) Accidong-cidong process, and (d) A'borong-borong process/Wedding reception party. The results of further research are about 2) factors that influence so many parents still match their children in Rappolemba Village, Gowa Regency, namely (a) economic factors, (b) debt factors, and (c) kinship factors. Furthermore, regarding 3) The impact on children caused by arranged marriages in Rappolemba Village, Gowa Regency, namely: Education is disrupted by arranged marriages, after marriage a series of problems arise which are based on various problems, even family quarrels arise which lead to divorce.

Abstract

Culture is generally referred to as the ancestral heritage of a nation in a general context and in a specific context in a community that is considered as the heritage of the local community. Even the existence of culture is often considered as a characteristic of a community which is a distinguishing attribute between the local community and the community that is a member of another community. This paper examines the importance of the strategy of preserving Culture through documentation carried out by both the government and the general public at various age levels starting from the process of understanding the elements of Culture and the form of Culture. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study that uses data from library sources in the form of books, scientific articles, popular scientific works, personal collection archives, government documents, and other types of sources. The results of the study indicate that the importance of preserving cultural values ​​through documentation and publication has so far become part of the Indonesian government program, among others, can be seen in efforts to identify elements that are part of the 10 objects of cultural advancement that have become national programs that are warmly welcomed in every region in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to find out: 1) What are the views of the Management of student organizations at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Makassar State University regarding the Covid-19 Pandemic; 2) What is the impact of Covid-19 on the performance of student organizations at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Makassar State University. This study uses a type of qualitative research. The selected informants are general chairmen or administrators who are considered to be able to provide the information sought by the researcher. Researchers collected data by means of observation, interviews and documentation. This study uses analytical techniques based on the theory of Cultural Adaptation. The results of this study show: 1) Covid-19 is a biological virus that is very dangerous and can take human lives. Apart from being dangerous to health, this virus also greatly impacts the performance of Student Organizations. 2) The Covid-19 virus greatly impacted the performance of Student Institutions at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Makassar State University, many activities were carried out online, organizational communication was hampered, institutional regeneration had decreased, administration was experiencing difficulties, and several work programs were hampered or even not implemented .

Abstract

This research aims to find out: (1) Factors that encourage people to carry out illegal fishing in Batudaka sub-district. (2) Illegal forms of fishing in the Batudaka community. The data collection technique used is interviews/interviews/documentation. Type of descriptive qualitative research. Formally, to find out about illegal fishing practices in Batudaka District. The qualitative data analysis technique goes through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The data validity technique uses validity and reliability testing techniques. The research results show that (1) factors that encourage people to engage in illegal fishing include: economy, livelihood, needs, activities. (2) Illegal forms of fishing in the Batudaka community include: fish bombing, anesthesia, tiger trawling, compressors, and poisoning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the efforts of the Culture Office in developing ethno-ecotourism in the Komodo National Park, West Manggarai Regency. To achieve this goal, the researchers used data collection techniques obtained by field research through observation, interviews, and documentation. This study used a qualitative research type which was analyzed descriptively to find out the Cultural Office's Efforts in Ethno-Ecotourism Development in Komodo National Park, West Manggarai Regency. The results of field research show that: (1) The development of ethno-econourism in the Komodo National Park is carried out by the community and the management of the Komodo National Park. In the development of ethno-ecotourism is very concerned because it brings benefits to the regional economy and helps the economy of local communities and is able to create an economic boom in which regional income is growing. The West Manggai cultural office establishes training programs related to improving people's skills with the aim of being able to support human resources in West Manggarai. (2) The development of ethno-ecotourism cannot be separated from the supporting and inhibiting factors. Supporting factors are natural potential, cultural potential and human potential. And the inhibiting factor for ethno-ecotourism in Komodo National Park is related to the lack of human resources in the local community who do not fully understand the concept of developing ethno-ecotourism.

Abstract

The development and management of coastal areas in a sustainable and integrated manner that has not been optimal due to the lack of community participation in maintaining the preservation of coastal resources which still tend to exceed the carrying capacity of the ecosystem. For this reason, this study article aims to describe community-based coastal area management. The study method uses literature studies. Sources and methods of data collection, namely obtained from library data, then read, record, and process and then compile for analysis, and draw conclusions. The results of the study show that the use and management of coastal areas in a sustainable and integrated manner is not optimal because the use of coastal resources still tends to exceed the carrying capacity of the ecosystem, the concept of decentralization and the implementation of legal rules that are still not understood comprehensively by stakeholders. Fisheries and marine development programs and activities in coastal areas are still struggling in an effort to increase catch production. On the other hand, aspects of empowerment and community participation have not been explicitly described in coastal development programs and activities. Community-based coastal area management in the context of economic development of coastal communities related to potential and socio-cultural conditions, requires coastal community development strategies through structural and non-structural approaches through the implementation of training and counseling in coastal community empowerment programs that pay attention to local wisdom.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of control patterns on the level of social behavior of students. The type of research used is quantitative research. The population in this study were students of class X and XI SMA Negeri 4 Makassar, as many as 703 people with a total sample of 87 people who were selected through random sampling. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques are descriptive statistical analysis, and inferential statistical analysis. The results showed that: 1) There was an effect of preventive control patterns (X1) on the level of social behavior of students (Y) of 0.393 or 39.3%. 2) There is an effect of repressive control patterns (X2) on the level of social behavior of students (Y) of 0.381 or 38.1%. 3) There is an effect of the pattern of curative control (X3) on the level of social behavior of students (Y) of 0.175 or 17.5%. 4) While the results of the hypothesis simultaneously or together (X1, X2 and X3) affect the level of social behavior of students (Y) by 0.613 or 61.3% and the rest is influenced by other variables.
