Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the cultivation of catfish (Pangasius hypopthalmus) based on biofloc with the addition of molasses at different C: N ratios. The catfish used was catfish with an initial average length of 6 cm. The container used is a container of 12 pieces with a volume of 40 L and filled with 35 L of fresh water with a stocking density of 15 birds in one container. Molasses was given to the catfish culture medium 2 hours after feeding. The method used in this study was a completely randomized design method (CRD). This study consisted of 4 treatments with 4 replications, namely P1 = Control (without addition of molasses), P2 = C: N ratio media 15, P3 = C: N ratio media 20 and P4 = C: N ratio 25. The results showed that cultivation Biofloc-based catfish (P.hypopthalmus) with the addition of different C: N molasses ratio did not have a significant effect on specific growth rate, absolute growth and survival of catfish. However, the average results showed that the treatment of C: N ratio of media 20 (P3) gave the highest specific growth rates, absolute growth and survival, namely 19.6 gr, 2.26 gr and 62.38%, respectively.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of different plant spacing on the growth of seaweed (Eucheuma cottonii) tissue culture results using the bottom off method. This research uses a completely randomized design (CRD). This research was carried out treatment with different plant spacing tissue culture results. Some references on seaweed cultivation advocated applied planting distance is 25 cm. However, distance it is thought to be too wide due to the size of the Eucheuma cottonii tissue culture yields are smaller (50 g) than conventional seed sizes (100 g).There are 4 treatments, namely P0 with a distance of 25 cm as a control treatment, P1 with a distance of 20 cm, P2 with a distance of 15 cm and P3 with a distance of 10 cm, each with 4 replications with a seedling initial weight of 50 g. Research data were analyzed using analysis of variance or analysis of variance (ANOVA) at 5% significance level with a 95% confidence interval. The highest absolute growth was in the P1 treatment with an average value of 124 g, the highest specific growth rate was in the P1 treatment with an average value of 4.15%/day, and the carrageenan yield showed no significant difference. Observation of carrageenan yields on Eucheuma cottonii showed sequential results in each treatment namely control by 17%, P1 and P2 by 16%, and P3 by 14%. The conclusion of this research is distance planting has a real influence on the growth of seaweed Eucheuma cottonii tissue culture by off bottom method. The best planting distance in thid study is P1 (20 cm).

Abstract

In the aquaculture industry, feed plays a vital role because more than 50% of the production cost is for feed procurement costs. The feed used must not only contain good nutritional content, but also be economically affordable. The better the quality of the feed, accompanied by the cheaper the feed, the success of fish production activities can be guaranteed. The purpose of this study was to increase the use of local fish meal as a substitute for commercial fish meal in tilapia feed formulations. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) model consisting of four treatments and three replications. The treatment applied was feeding the fish with artificial feed made from a combination of local fish meal with commercial fish meal at different doses. The treatments in this study werea (commercial fish meal 30% + local fish meal 0%), B (commercial fish meal 20% + local fish meal 10%), C (commercial fish meal 10% + local fish meal 20%), and D (commercial fish meal 0% + local fish meal 30%). The results of the analysis of variance (ANOVA) test showed that the treatment had no significant effect on the value of survival rate (SR), but had a significant effect on the value of Specific Growth Rate (SGR), Feed Conversion Ration (FCR) and blood glucose levels (GD). The SR values of treatment A, B, C, and D were 96.7%, 96.7%, 96.7%, and 100%, respectively. The SGR values of treatment A, B, C, and D were 0.15% / day, 0.24% / day, 0.29% / day, 0.35% / day, respectively. The FCR values of treatment A, B, C, and D were 10.25, 7.47, 5.00, and 4.16, respectively. The GD values of treatments A, B, C, and D were 217.67 mg / dL, 160.33 mg / dL, 155.00 mg / dL, and 132.67 mg / dL, respectively. The water quality during the research was still classified in the optimum range of tilapia rearing water quality, namely temperature 29.0?31.9 oC, pH 7.0?8.2, DO 4.3?5.9 mg / L, and ammonia 0.0011-0.0293 mg / L. The conclusion of this research activity is, the use of fish feed using the formulation of local fish meal as a raw material can be used as a substitute for commercial fish meal.

Abstract

Pearl oyster (Pinctada maxima) is one of the marine resources that has high economic value but its production takes a long time, so it takes a long time to be marketed. The imbalance between feed requirements and the availability of natural food in the waters is thought to be one of the factors for the slow growth of pearl oyster seeds. This problem can be overcome by immersing it in natural feed tanks periodically so that the need for pearl oyster seed feed can be met. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the immersion period of seeds in natural feed tanks on the growth of pearl oyster seeds. This research was conducted in June – September 2019 in Teluk Siung, Batu Putih Village, West Sekotong District, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. The design used was a completely randomized design consisting of five treatments, namely A, without immersion (as a control); B, immersion at intervals of 1 week; C, soaking at intervals of 2 weeks; D, immersion at intervals of 3 weeks; and E, immersion at 4-week intervals. The results showed that immersion in natural feed tanks had a significant effect on the growth of the shell (dorso-ventral) of Pinctada maxima pearl shells (p<0.05). The highest growth was achieved in immersion with time intervals every 2 weeks with an absolute growth value of 10.99 mm, a specific growth of 219.8% of the initial size, and a specific growth rate of 1.30% per day. This method needs to be tested on seeds that are larger than those used in this study to see the consistency of the application of the immersion method in the cultivation of pearl oyster seeds.
