<![CDATA[This article discusses the environmental wisdom in Islam whichcomes from al-Qur’an and Hadis. The nature concept in Syariah is generalso the new meaning and the detail need to be given in order to bemore operational. The discussion on tafsir and fikih is held by using jurisprudenceor us}u>l al-fiqh and historical approach. The teaching on environmentalwisdom in Syariah and the concept of protecting the wisdomare the focuses of this research. This article shows that mas}lah}ah principlehas proved to strengthen the argument of Syariah protection towardenvironment. This principle also proposes new tradition, h}ima> (inviolatezone/protected area) as the conservation activity. Green vision inSyariah tradition based on ikra>m or a respect to the nature’s rights whichshould be kept and obeyed by every khali>fah.]]>

<![CDATA[The controversy about the causes of the environment damage isspread out nowadays. The root of this problem is the people’s ideologyabout nature which is very stiff. Anthropocentrism people legitimate theiraction in natural exploitation. Meanwhile, if it is analyzed comprehensively,there are 800 verses of kawniyah verses in al-Qur’an that are relatedto the universe. This article tries to explore the verses which explainthe ideal concept of interaction patterns and interconnection betweenman and the ecosystem. This paper shows that harmony-in nature visionof al-Qur’an possesses an eco-humanist theology.]]>

<![CDATA[This article discusses the traditional ceremony which is conductedto the natural harmony. The aim of this paper is firstly, to reveal the conceptwhich is constructed in traditional ceremony which is inherited bySunan Kalijaga. Secondly, it also discusses the cosmic awareness inJavanese spirituality. It is found that the environmental harmony conceptin traditional ceremony in Sunan Kalijaga’s tomb has a local wisdom andvirtues that need to be preserved. The cosmic awareness which is built bySunan Kalijaga in the spreading of Islam is taking the local virtues andtransforming them into Islamic teaching.]]>

Zawawi Imron were revealedabout the nature’s religiosity using semiotics as interpretation methods.The universe is understood in relation to the transcendent reality andGod-centered. D. Zawawi Imron’s worldview embodied in I-lyrics representationthat can be referenced in the Qur'an and the Hadith, related tothe relationship between human beings, the universe, and God. God manifestin the light of the heavens and the earth are manifested in variousforms, through nature and His names. In addition, the poem there is ameaning to life harmony by recognizing the existence and greatness ofGod, both in the universe and in human beings themselves.]]>

<![CDATA[This article reveals the relation among, God, man, and nature inZainal Arifin Thoha poems. There are many Muslims thinkers who manifesttheir way of life in poems to project themselves, God and the universe.This is because poem could take in all the beauty and feeling thatcome in live. To understand those poems, it is needed takwil (interpretation)rules. The hermeneutic interpretation is used to find out the realshape of the reality (h}aqa>’ iq al-wuju>d) which is manifested in poems.This article shows that there is a spiritual transformation which is broughtinto reality from the poems by oneself. This is the transformation from aprayer which is moved actively from the poetic nuance from the depth ofsoul.]]>

<![CDATA[This article describes and reveals the concept of khali>fah in Islamas the basic in natural exploration. This concept brings man into the highestdegree among God’ creatures. Man’s responsibility is as the God’s representativein the earth. Man should be inspired by some of God’s namesuch as arranger (mudabbir), protector (h}a>fidz), and educator (murabbi).The data are collected and documented from the main source; al-Qur’anand al-Sunnah and it is analyzed with bayani and philosophical approach.This article shows that khali>fah concept in Islam is based on ila>hiyyahand d}aru>riyyah (need) insa>niyyah transcendence. <![CDATA[This article discusses and analyzes the belief systems of AbogeIslamic community. In Java, Islam has a unique variant. It is correlatedwith how Islam spreads and process its acculturation with existed Javaneseculture. To examine the belief systems and practices of this ritual, thedata collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Thisarticle suggests that religious teachings and beliefs of the Aboge JavaneseMuslim Community are taught for generations. <![CDATA[This article discusses the cultural assimilation of Kliwonan traditionwith Islamic teachings. Author took some views of Clifford Geertz toexplore the phenomenon of Kliwonan tradition. In that way, it is understoodthat there is a correlation between the pattern of Javanese life withthe teachings of Islam as something noble. Kliwonan done congregationaltradition and intimacy occurs between them. People who do become traditionKliwonan feel close to the Creator, the Almighty God. Tradition asa medium to get closer through the inner region.]]>
