Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the deep learning approach in Islamic Religious Education instruction at MTs Al-Khoirot, the factors supporting and hindering its application, and its impact on students' understanding and religious attitudes. The study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation related to the Islamic Religious Education learning process at MTs Al-Khoirot. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the deep learning approach is implemented through three principles: mindful learning, meaningful learning, and joyful learning. Mindful learning is realized through reflection and inquiry-based questioning; meaningful learning is achieved by connecting the material to students' experiences and daily lives; and joyful learning is fostered through discussions, case studies, simulations, and practical activities. Supporting factors include teacher competence, a religious madrasa environment, and student engagement, while hindering factors include time constraints, variations in students' prior knowledge, and habits of rote learning. The application of the deep learning approach has a positive impact on students' understanding of the material, active participation, critical thinking skills, and religious attitudes. This study demonstrates that the deep learning approach offers an alternative method for Islamic Religious Education that is more meaningful and contextual, while fostering the development of both knowledge and religious attitudes among students.

Abstract

Survey research is one of the most commonly used designs in educational research because it can provide an overview of the conditions, opinions, attitudes, and behaviors of a group based on data obtained from a research sample. In the field of Islamic Religious Education (IRE), the survey design is widely used to examine various aspects, such as students’ level of religiosity, the effectiveness of instruction, and responses to Islamic education programs. This article aims to explain the concepts, characteristics, and application of the survey research design in Islamic Religious Education research. The study employs a qualitative approach using the literature review method (library research). Data were obtained from various relevant sources, such as books, scientific journals, and previous research findings discussing survey designs in the field of education. The collected data were then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that survey research designs offer advantages in effectively and systematically collecting data from a large number of respondents. Furthermore, this design can be used to identify actual conditions in the field and serve as a foundation for the evaluation and development of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) instruction. Therefore, selecting a survey design appropriate to the research objectives is crucial for generating valid and reliable data.

Abstract

This research aims to examine phenomenology and case study approaches in qualitative research, focusing on their characteristics, differences, and relevance to Islamic Religious Education. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with library research type, utilizing various written sources such as books, scientific journal articles, proceedings, and other academic sources relevant to phenomenology and case study research. Data collection techniques are carried out through documentation studies, namely identifying, reviewing, and organizing various literature related to the characteristics, differences, and relevance of phenomenology and case study approaches in Islamic Religious Education research. Data analysis is conducted using content analysis techniques, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that phenomenology focuses on the lived experience of individuals and seeks to find the essence of meaning behind a phenomenon, while case studies focus on a specific case in a real-life context with clear boundaries. Both approaches have significant relevance in the development of Islamic Religious Education, where phenomenology helps understand the religious experiences of students, while case studies provide concrete descriptions of the implementation of Islamic Religious Education in various educational contexts.

Abstract

Leadership within Islamic educational institutions currently stands at a crossroads between preserving tradition and responding to the demands of digitalization. This article aims to analyze leadership dynamics in *pesantren* (Islamic boarding schools) and *madrasah* (Islamic schools) using an analytical-contextual approach. By examining field realities and synthesizing modern leadership theories, the study formulates solutions to the challenges of technology-based management. The findings offer a novel concept—"Transformative-Synergistic Leadership"—which integrates digital proficiency with the noble values of the *pesantren*. In conclusion, institutional success hinges on the leader's ability to adapt to technology without severing spiritual roots. Leadership in *pesantren* and *madrasah* represents a unique entity that integrates traditional religious values with modern management. This study analyzes the leadership practices of *kiai* (Islamic scholars/leaders) in *pesantren* and *madrasah* principals, as well as the context of their adaptation in the digital era. Through a literature review and qualitative analysis, it was found that *pesantren* leadership tends to be based on the *kiai's* charisma (centralized), though it is shifting toward a democratic-transformational style in modern *pesantren*. Meanwhile, *madrasah* leadership is more formal and emphasizes Total Quality Management. The relevance of leadership in both institutions today depends heavily on the ability to adapt to technology, innovate curricula, and uphold the value of exemplary leadership.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of Qur'anic leadership as a normative foundation in Islamic education. Qur'anic leadership is a leadership model grounded in Qur'anic values—such as *tawhid* (monotheism), *amanah* (trustworthiness), justice, *musyawarah* (consultation), exemplary conduct, and *istiqamah* (steadfastness). The study employs a library research method, examining various relevant literature sources. The findings indicate that Qur'anic leadership plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of spiritually-based education, shaping student character, strengthening religious culture within educational institutions, and improving the professionalism of educators. Furthermore, the implementation of Qur'anic leadership faces various challenges in the modern era, necessitating an integrative approach that combines Qur'anic values with advancements in science and technology. Thus, Qur'anic leadership can serve as a robust foundation for developing Islamic education that is holistic, character-driven, and relevant to the demands of the times.
