Abstract

Menarche is the first menstruation for girls. . Lifestyle changes are believed to be a major factor in the decline in the age of menarche. Changes in lifestyle are due to the progress of civilization followed by changes in humans, ranging from changes in diet to changes in lifestyle. The most common unhealthy lifestyles are consuming fast food and snacks/snacks, rarely exercising and often accessing adult mass media. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between lifestyle and the incidence of menarche in students at Junior High School. Design This research is a quantitative study with the Cross Sectional method (cross-sectional) which aims to see the relationship between the dependent variable and the independent variable. This research was conducted at SMP N Jambi City at 2022 with a sample of 75 people taken by purposive sampling. The instrument used is a questionnaire. Data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate analysis with Chi Square test. The results of the study obtained that the most respondents were at the age of 13 years, namely 29 people (38.7%). The education of the majority of respondents is grade 9 by 43 respondents (57.3%). The description of the menarche status of the majority of respondents is not normal by 38 people (49.3%). Overview The majority of respondents' lifestyle is good by 39 people (52.0%). The majority of respondents have a nutritional status of 38 respondents (50.7%). The results of the Chi-Square test obtained p value = 0.116 > (0.05), meaning that there is no relationship between lifestyle and the incidence of menarche in students. Regular education is needed about healthy lifestyles and the participation of parents to form a healthy lifestyle for young women

Abstract

Malnutrition is an imbalance between food intake and the body's needs to fulfill specific functions of the body. Intake of macronutrients is needed by toddlers in growth and development. The imbalance in the level of consumption of macronutrients against the body's needs can affect tissue and body mass which has an impact on malnutrition. Children born with LBW have a 3.34 times greater risk of experiencing poor nutritional status compared to children who are not LBW. Objective: To determine the relationship between food intake and LBW with the incidence of malnutrition in toddlers aged 1-5 years. This research is descriptive analytic with a case control design with a total sample consisting of 31 cases and 31 controls. The research variables were food intake and LBW. This research was conducted in October 2021 at the Darul Imarah Health Center. Data analysis used Chi square test with 95% confidence level. In the case group, toddlers had adequate energy intake, mostly 22 people (44.9%), adequate carbohydrate intake 23 people (51.1%), adequate protein intake 27 people (47.4%), and fat intake deficit 31 people. (56.4%). The incidence of malnutrition in the case group was mostly experienced by 17 LBW infants (53.1%). There was a relationship between fat intake and the incidence of malnutrition (p < 0.05), while the intake of energy, carbohydrates, protein and low birth weight had no relationship with the incidence of malnutrition (p > 0.05).

Abstract

Ulceration of the foot in diabetes is common and disabling. It frequently leads to leg amputation, and the risk for leg amputation increases 10 to 30 times higher among the general population. 85% of leg amputations are performed due to diabetic foot ulcers, which can affect the quality of life and be potentially life-threatening. Diabetic foot ulcers are preventable by performing foot screening. The study aims to determine the validity and reliability score of diabetic foot screening questionnaires. The study used an observational descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach to the samples of 35 out of 40 populations. Respondents are selected using simple random sampling techniques. The instrument used was the diabetic foot ulcer and blood sugar observation sheet. The data were tested using SPSS 26 using Pearson Product Moment and Cronbach's Alpha test. The majority of respondents were female, the age ratio of the respondents was 65 years, the blood sugar rate was 234 mg/dl, and the ankle-brachial index rate was 1.04. The Pearson Product Moment results showed that the rcounts > rtable (0.334), while the reliability test using Cronbach’s Alpha value is > 0.60. The diabetic foot screening questionnaire is declared valid, reliable, and appropriate to detect the risk of foot ulcers in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. There are ten themes of questions: diabetic diet patterns, anti-diabetic medication consumption, monofilament tests, foot pulse, history of foot ulcers, a history of amputations, foot deformities, nails growing into tissue, callus, and cracks.

Abstract

Breech position is one of the four main indications for caesarean section worldwide. This breech location can occur in 3-4% of all deliveries. A breech delivery gives a poor prognosis because it increases the risk of complications for the mother and fetus. There are two ways to manage a breech pregnancy, namely knee chest and external version, but there are physical exercises that can provide abdominal space so that it gives the baby the opportunity to rotate, namely prenatal yoga activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference between prenatal yoga and knee chest in changing the position of the breech fetus to normal. The methodology of this research is using post test with control group design. The study population was pregnant women in the third trimester with a breech position as many as 42 people. The sampling technique used purposive sampling as many as 30 people into samples which were divided into 2 groups, namely 15 experimental group (prenatal yoga) and 15 control group (knee chest). The research instrument used the results of Ultrasonography and observation sheets. Data analysis used the Mann-Whitney Test. The results showed that there was a difference in the average time needed to change the position of the fetus by doing prenatal yoga and knee-chest. Prenatal yoga takes a shorter time (10 days) while knee-chest takes longer (15 days) so that prenatal yoga is more effective for pregnant women in improving fetal presentation. Bivariate results showed a ( p-value of 0.002 < 0.005). Conclusions based on the results of the study there was a difference in the average time required to change the position of the fetus by doing prenatal yoga and knee-chest. Prenatal yoga takes a shorter time while knee-chest takes longer to help turn the fetal presentation into a head so that prenatal yoga is more effective in helping to improve fetal presentation.

Abstract

Childbirth is an emotional experience encompassing physiological and psychological mechanisms undergone by pregnant women. Labor pain is one of the most commonly complained about experiences. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of rose aromatherapy on labor pain. This research utilized the Systematic Literature Review method. Article searches were conducted on Google Scholar, PubMed, ProQuest, and GARUDA databases from 2017 to 2022, and the selection process employed the PRISMA diagram. Inclusion criteria encompassed research articles from 2017 to 2022 discussing the impact of rose aromatherapy on reducing labor pain, involving pregnant women participants, and available in English or Indonesian. Exclusion criteria included articles irrelevant to rose aromatherapy usage, insufficient information, inappropriate language, focusing on other essential oils, and irrelevant samples. The study yielded three articles demonstrating that rose aromatherapy can alleviate pain during labor. From these three articles, the utilization of rose aromatherapy has been shown to reduce the frequency of labor pain. Usage frequency of 3-4 drops mixed with 20-40 ml of water and ignited for 10-15 minutes during the active phase of labor (Phase I) was recommended. The study concludes that rose aromatherapy has an impact on reducing labor pain in delivering mothers, especially during Phase I. Rose aromatherapy can reduce the frequency of labor pain when applied at a minimum frequency of 4 drops mixed with 40 ml of water and ignited for 15 minutes during Phase I of active labor. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that the appropriate usage frequency of rose aromatherapy during Phase I of active labor can serve as an effective alternative for alleviating labor pain in delivering mothers.
