Abstract

Hypnobirthing is a relaxation method with slow breathing patterns so that endorphins are slowly released by the body. This study aims to identify the effect of hypnobirthing on labor pain in the active phase of the 1st stage. The research method was a systematic literature review by identifying all published literature using relevant keywords. The selected articles are those published in the last 10 years which are full text, then selected based on the title and abstract which in the end found 5 articles that met the inclusion criteria and had high quality. The results showed that there was a significant effect of hypnobirthing on labor pain. Mothers who do hypnobirthing starting in pregnancy get more benefits than hypnobirthing starting during the first stage of labor. Thus, hypnobirthing should be an option in reducing labor pain in addition to other benefits.

Abstract

Childbirth is an emotional experience encompassing physiological and psychological mechanisms undergone by pregnant women. Labor pain is one of the most commonly complained about experiences. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of rose aromatherapy on labor pain. This research utilized the Systematic Literature Review method. Article searches were conducted on Google Scholar, PubMed, ProQuest, and GARUDA databases from 2017 to 2022, and the selection process employed the PRISMA diagram. Inclusion criteria encompassed research articles from 2017 to 2022 discussing the impact of rose aromatherapy on reducing labor pain, involving pregnant women participants, and available in English or Indonesian. Exclusion criteria included articles irrelevant to rose aromatherapy usage, insufficient information, inappropriate language, focusing on other essential oils, and irrelevant samples. The study yielded three articles demonstrating that rose aromatherapy can alleviate pain during labor. From these three articles, the utilization of rose aromatherapy has been shown to reduce the frequency of labor pain. Usage frequency of 3-4 drops mixed with 20-40 ml of water and ignited for 10-15 minutes during the active phase of labor (Phase I) was recommended. The study concludes that rose aromatherapy has an impact on reducing labor pain in delivering mothers, especially during Phase I. Rose aromatherapy can reduce the frequency of labor pain when applied at a minimum frequency of 4 drops mixed with 40 ml of water and ignited for 15 minutes during Phase I of active labor. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that the appropriate usage frequency of rose aromatherapy during Phase I of active labor can serve as an effective alternative for alleviating labor pain in delivering mothers.

Abstract

Abstract Background: Government efforts to improve family health include improving family nutrition. One of the solutions to overcome nutritional problems is to hold a nutritional improvement program by utilizing local food ingredients called Local PMT. The provision of local PMT is intended for toddlers and pregnant women who experience chronic energy deficiency. Based on the results of a preliminary survey in Mekargalih Village, Tarogong Kidul District, Garut Regency, the prevalence of KEK in pregnant women in November was 20.75%, where the RPJMN target in 2024 was 10%. Of the 53 pregnant women, 11 pregnant women experienced KEK. KEK is a condition where a person suffers from an imbalance in nutritional intake (energy and protein) that lasts for years. Pregnant women who experience KEK will have problems during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. In addition, it will also have an impact on fetal development. The government has made efforts to help reduce the incidence of KEK in pregnant women by providing additional food regularly to pregnant women, but these efforts have not been able to achieve the expected target. Objective: The implementation of community service is to empower the community by increasing the knowledge of pregnant women, cadres and community leaders about the impact of KEK on pregnant women and teaching pregnant women with KEK skills in processing varied and innovative foods. Method: The method used in this study was to provide counseling on the impact of malnutrition on toddlers and introduce the DIMASA ORBA innovation. Participants in this activity were 11 pregnant women who experienced KEK, Posyandu cadres, and community leaders. Conclusion: This activity began with a preliminary survey, conducting a Forum Discussion Group (FGD) to determine the priority of problems and interventions to be given. The implementation of the intervention was assessed by pre-test and post-test to see the effectiveness of the counseling provided. The evaluation results showed that there was an increase in knowledge in pregnant women with an average value of the pre-test results of 55.45 and the post-test results of 93.63. So it can be concluded that pregnant women understand the impact of KEK during pregnancy. We hope that pregnant women can meet their nutritional intake during pregnancy by consuming foods that are high in calories and protein, in accordance with the innovation provided, namely DIMASA ORBA, an abbreviation of chicken, carrot and spinach dimsum. Abstract

Marriage is a crucial phase in life that requires optimal physical and mental readiness. High levels of stress in prospective spouses can impact their health, relationships, and the quality of their married life. This study aims to analyze the effect of physical and mental health checks on the stress levels of prospective spouses in Ciruas District, Banten Province. The study design used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experiment and a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews. A sample of 132 people was determined using the Slovin formula and the purposive sampling technique. The variables studied included blood pressure, BMI, hemoglobin levels, infectious diseases, and mental conditions based on the GAD-7. The intervention was carried out in the form of premarital health checks and education. Research Results: Quantitatively, the average stress score of prospective spouses before the intervention was 8.45 and decreased to 6.13 after the intervention, indicating a statistically significant improvement (p = 0.000). Most respondents (97%) were in good physical condition, and mental examinations showed an increase in psychological stability after counseling. Qualitative data revealed that partner support, perceptions of test results, and counseling experiences influenced stress reduction, while barriers included limited access to services, concerns about test results, and low health literacy. This study concluded that physical and mental health screenings significantly reduced stress levels for prospective spouses.

Abstract

Maternal mortality in Indonesia remains high, with one of the main contributing factors being delays in recognizing and responding to pregnancy danger signs. Appropriate and effective health education can improve pregnant women’s knowledge and preparedness regarding pregnancy risks. This study aims to systematically review educational models used to increase pregnant women’s awareness of pregnancy danger signs. The research method applied a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach based on the PICOS framework (Population: pregnant women, Intervention: educational models on pregnancy danger signs, Comparison: no intervention or standard education, Outcome: increased knowledge/preparedness, Study design: quantitative/intervention studies). Articles were retrieved from PubMed, ProQuest, SpringerLink, and ScienceDirect databases, published between June 2021 and 2025. After the selection and screening process, seven articles met the inclusion criteria. All articles were evaluated using the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) to assess methodological quality and validity. The results showed that community-based education, mHealth interventions, and social norm–based approaches were effective in improving pregnant women’s knowledge of pregnancy danger signs. This study recommends integrating community-based and technology-based educational approaches while considering the local context to enhance program effectiveness
