Abstract

Radicalism and violence in the educational environment are critical issues due to their impact on student development. Schools as formal educational institutions play a strategic role in instilling tolerance, nationalism, and moderation. This article analyzes the school’s role in instilling anti-radicalism values using SMA Negeri 72 Jakarta as a case illustration, especially in the context of a recent incident at the school. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach through literature review. Data were obtained from academic journals, books, educational policy documents, and news reports related to the school incident. The results indicate that anti-radicalism values can be instilled through integration in learning, extracurricular activities, and inclusive school culture. The incident at SMA Negeri 72 underscores the importance of efforts to shield students from exposure to violence and extremist influences.

Abstract

The climate crisis represents a global challenge that affects not only ecological dimensions but also the social, moral, and spiritual aspects of human life. This study aims to analyze the role of religion and spirituality in fostering faith-based social solidarity in addressing the climate crisis in Sorong City, Southwest Papua Province. The research employs a library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach, drawing from books, academic journals, and relevant publications on religion, spirituality, and ecology. The findings reveal that religion plays a crucial role in shaping ecological awareness and moral responsibility toward nature as God’s creation. Spirituality acts as an inner motivation that nurtures empathy and ecological concern, while faith-based social solidarity encourages interfaith collaboration in environmental conservation efforts. In Sorong City, religious diversity serves as a valuable foundation for developing united ecological and social movements as an expression of love for the Earth. Thus, religion and spirituality function not merely as belief systems but as moral and social forces that unite humanity in responding to the climate crisis.

Abstract

This study examines the reception of the Qur'an in the animated film Upin & Ipin IQRA' episode “Surah Al-Falaq” as a form of Living Qur'an practice in digital media. Using a qualitative approach through literature review and content analysis, this study employs Ahmad Rafiq's theory of Qur'anic reception, which divides reception into exegetical, aesthetic, and functional aspects. The results show that this episode, produced by Les' Copaque Production, displays aesthetic reception through the visualization of the mushaf, recitation, and verse subtitles; exegetical reception through explanations of the meaning and stories of the Prophet related to the context of the surah; and functional reception through the practice of Surah Al-Falaq as a prayer for protection. Substantively, the message presented is in line with the interpretations in Tafsir Al-Qur'an Al-'Adzhim, Fi Zhilalil Qur'an, and Tafsir Al-Misbah, so that this film represents the transformation of theological messages from interpretive texts to a communicative visual medium without losing the substance of tawhid and its spiritual protection values.
