Abstract

The problem of students' numeracy skills has long been a problem. The problem is low numeracy skills and uninteresting learning; students' initial numeracy skills do not develop. Although not all students, based on the teacher's notes, this was quite disturbing because of the 18 students, 8 still got scores that were far below the KKM with an average score of 50.6, while the KKN required 65 for the minimum complete score that students had to get in mathematics learning for all the subjects studied. This research targets 18 students by implementing the Math Training for Kids application as a solution to the Beginning Numeracy problem, which is implemented using a PTK model with 2 cycles. The results of the research show that students' initial numeracy skills (subtraction and addition) can be improved through practicing word problems with the help of the math training for kids application for class I students at SDN 429 Sagenae. In terms of tests, students' numeracy skills or activities are all above the KKM number determined in class I at SDN 429 Sagenae. We can compare them. On average, it was 76.66 (cycle I) and changed to 87.22 (cycle II), which means it has been classically completed. When referring to classical completeness (%) then the action has fulfilled 80%.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the application of the ice-breaking stop technique aimed at increasing student learning motivation. Ice-breaking is a strategy that can be used to get students excited and concentrated in the learning process. Stop technique, stopping all activities temporarily for a moment to catch your breath and calm students' minds before receiving thematic learning. The method used is descriptive-qualitative. This research was carried out at SD Negeri 3 Banyupoh, Gerokgak District, Buleleng Regency. The subjects of this research were grade 3 students. Based on the results of observations and interviews, the average student felt happy learning with ice-breaking activities and stop techniques. Students felt calmer and more focused after performing the stop technique. Students said they were more enthusiastic and motivated to participate in learning because they were no longer sleepy. Feelings of tiredness and sleepiness disappear when doing ice-breaking activities. There are several obstacles faced in using the stop technique, including facilities and networks, so it is anticipated to prepare the media before learning begins.

The subjects of this learning improvement research were grade IV students of SD Negeri 2 Usuku totaling 18 students. The results of this study show that the results of Civics learning activities of grade IV students of SD Negeri 2 Usuku through the application of guided inquiry learning can be improved, the results of cycle I learning, which reached 64%, show this. Cycle II gets a completeness percentage of 76%, and cycle III shows a completeness percentage of 88%. Based on the findings of this study, teachers may consider using the guided inquiry learning paradigm as a substitute to make it easier for students who experience barriers in learning civics lessons.
