Playing Number Wheel to Improve Early Numeracy Skill Action Research in Bon Thorif Kindergarten Murodi, Sri Sumarni; Andika, Windi Dwi

Abstract

Pupils’ low early numeracy skill was found as a problem in a preliminary study with average percentage 52,05% based on observation and attitude test. This was resulted from paper and pencil activities involving drilling in the instruction. The researchers, therefore, offered direct solution for increasing early numeracy skill of kindergarten pupils B by playing Number Wheel at Kindergarten Bon Thorif located in Palembang South Sumatera, Indonesia. Number Wheel was media of pointing numbers modified from Charlesworth’s media (2000, p.104). This media was in the shape of circle with 10 numbers from number 1 to 10 with different colours on its surface. This circle could spin at its center like a wheel and stop exactly on the clock hand pointing numbers. The method used classroom action research. The subjects were 13 pupils, 6 years old. Data collection techniques were test and non test. The data obtained from observation were gathered from field-notes and photographs. Data regarding an early numeracy skill were gathered by using an attitude test and observation. The indicator of the success of this research was shown by the improvement up to 71% for each pupil. The data analysis indicated that there was improvement 78,56% of pupils’ early numeracy skill in the frist cycle and 99,45% in the second cycle. This proved that the improvement was significant. The implication is that playing Number Wheel can be an alternative way to increase kindegarten pupils’ early numeracy skill. Future study is suggested to develop more innovative media to improve early numeracy skill.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran orang tua dalam menstimulasi sikap gigih anak 5-6 tahun selama masa pandemi Covid-19. Metode yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah anak usia 5-6 tahun di Kelurahan Srijaya yang berjumlah 20 orang dengan mengunakan teknik Random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah angket tertutup dan wawancara langsung kepada orang tua anak. Teknik analisis data menggunakan perhitungan persentase penelitian menunjukkan bahwa telah terlaksana 61.405% keinginan yang kuat dan pantang menyerah, proses pencapaian, dan hambatan dengan baik. Hasil penelitian secara keseluruhan diperoleh beberapa kategori dari skor responden. Indikator peran orang tua yang sering dilakukan berada pada keinginan yang kuat dan pantang menyerah 83,75% anak dan indikator hambatan 81,87% anak. Sementara, persentase pada indikator paling rendah adalah proses pencapaian 80% anak. Dengan rincian sebanyak 90% anak berada pada kategori Selalu (SL), 8,3% anak berada pada kategori Sering (SR), 1,6% anak berada pada kategori Kadang-kadang (KK), dan 0% anak berada pada kategori Tidak Pernah (TP). Maka dari itu disarankan bagi penelitian selanjutnya untuk lebih berfokus pada indikator proses pencapaian.

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam pembuatan media berbasis ICT dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran flipped classroom bagi guru PAUD di Kota Lubuk Linggau. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan taga tahapan, yaitu tahap persiapan, tahap. Data yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini, yaitu pemahaman guru terhadap peenggunaan media berbasis ICT dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran flipped classroom selama masa pandemic covid-19 dalam bentuk hasil pretest dan postest, dokumentasi kegiatan dan tugas peserta dalam membuat media berbasis ICT dalam bentuk video pembelajaran. Abstract

Adanya kesenjangan antara orang tua yang menginginkan anaknya segera terampil menulis dan fakta bahwa anak memerlukan kesiapan fisik yang matang dalam menulis. Kesenjangan tersebut menimbulkan pertanyaan apa saja keterampilan yang penting distimulasi sebelum anak siap menulis. Tujuan penelitian ini mengkaji literatur hasil penelitian tentang keterampilan sebelum anak siap menulis. Metode penelitian adalah studi literatur dari sumber primer. Hasil kajian literatur menyatakan terdapat: kekuatan otot inti, menyilangkan garis tengah, menggenggam pensil dengan benar, koordinasi mata-tangan, integrasi bilateral, kekuatan tubuh bagian atas, manipulasi objek, persepsi visual, dominasi tangan visual. Kebaharuan penelitian ini mengkaji informasi tentang sembilan keterampilan yang harus distimulasi sebelum anak siap menulis dari 45 hasil penelitian terbaru. Dampaknya guru dapat memfokuskan pengembangan keterampilan tersebut secara optimal sehingga anak tidak mudah letih saat menulis dan anak dapat menggunakan keterampilan pada aktivitas lebih kompleks. Simpulan pentingnya stimulasi keterampilan tersebut sebagai indikator kesiapan menulis anak.

Abstract

Teachers need to understand the factors that influence the readiness of early childhood to learn their new language, especially English, to avoid inappropriate stimulation practices. This study aimed to examine early childhood English learning readiness factors based on relevant theories and research results. This research method was a qualitative literature review study. The literature review consists of 70 references related to the topic of early childhood English. This research method is a qualitative literature review study. As a result, children's readiness to learn is influenced by internal and external factors. Internal factors include cognitive abilities, mastery of the initial language, mastery of a new language, namely English, emotional maturity, and intrinsic motivation. At the same time, the external factors that influence include extrinsic motivation, family, social culture environment, and stimulation by playing.The novelty is to identify the influence of children's readiness factors in learning English both inside and outside the child. As a result, the teacher can consider the readiness of the child to avoid mistakes in introducing English as a new language for early childhood.

Abstract

Materi binatang laut selama ini dikenalkan oleh guru hanya menggunakan buku, majalah anak, dan gambar. Pada umumnya anak akan cepat merasa bosan dan susah fokus pada materi apabila hanya menggunakan media buku, majalah dan gambar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media flashcard berbasis augmented reality pada materi mengenal binatang laut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu penelitian pengembangan Research & Development (R&D). Prosedur penelitian yang dilakukan dalam pengembangan ini diadaptasi dari langkah-langkah pengembangan yang dikembangkan oleh Borg and Gall dengan pembatasan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah anak usia dini pada kelompok B di RA Perwanida IV. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, lembar angket dan lembar observasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini teknik analisis kualitatif dan analisis kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa media flashcard berbasis augmented reality yang dikembangkan sudah memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis dan efektif untuk digunakan pada materi pengenalan binatang laut bagi anak usia dini kelompok B di RA Perwanida IV.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan gerak manipulatif anak usia (6-7) tahun selama masa pandemi Covid-19 di Jalan Persada Ogan Ilir. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan empat subjek penelitian. Untuk teknik pengumpulan data peneliti menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data kualitatif Miles dan Huberman, meliputi pengumpulan data dari wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, selanjutnya mereduksi data yang telah didapatkan dari lapangan, penyajian data dalam bentuk narasi singkat dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian menggunakan empat subjek penelitian yaitu orang tua yang memiliki anak usia (6-7) tahun di Jalan Persada Ogan Ilir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan gerak manipulatif anak selama masa pandemi ini cukup baik dengan adanya kegiatan yang dapat merangsang gerak manipulatif anak seperti melempar, menangkap, memantulkan, menendang, menggelindingkan, dan mendorong.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to produce a valid interactive media prototype for instilling Pancasila values ​​in early childhood. This type of research is R&D with the Borg and Gall model with procedures for needs analysis, prototype design, development, and evaluation of implementation. Evaluation technique used with Tessmer evaluation. The data collection technique used a walkthrough which was assessed by the media validator and material validator. Based on the results of research from experts, namely material experts and media design experts with very valid categories with a feasibility percentage of 92.3% and 99.99% respectively, so that the product is valid in terms of visual media, audio media, aspects of typography, aspects of language, aspects of programming, aspects of presentation and feasibility of the content of Pancasila values. From the results of this study, interactive media for instilling Pancasila values ​​in early childhood is valid to be used and utilized by teachers and parents

Abstract

Wild animal material has been introduced by teachers and parents only in the traditional. Early reading can be challenging since it might be difficult to recognize new words. Technology has been used to this issue in the form of flashcard with augmented reality (AR). This study aims to develop a flashcard material for wild animals based on augmented reality for children aged (5-6) years in Kayu Agung which has been tested for validity and practicality. The research method used in this research was Research Development (RD) research. The research procedure was Rowntree and formative evaluation Tessmer. The formative evaluation stage of Tessmer consisted of self-evaluation, expert review, one-to-one evaluation, and small group evaluation. The results showed the wild animals flashcard-based AR was developed had met the valid and practical criteria and was suitable to children aged (5-6) as an early reading game years in Kayu Agung
