JURNAL PERIKANAN TERAPAN (JUPITER) dikelola oleh Program Studi Ilmu Perikanan, Fakultas Ilmu dan Teknologi Hayati, Universitas Teknologi Sumbawa. Jurnal Perikanan Terapan (JUPITER) mempunyai tujuan untuk mempublikasikan dan memberikan kontribusi ilmiah yang berkualitas tinggi di bidang Perikanan dan Kelautan. Kontribusi tersebut berasal dari penelitian inovatif yang mendorong pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi di bidang Perikanan dan Kelautan dalam skala nasional dan internasional. Jurnal ini menjadi media komunikasi bagi para Peneliti, Akademisi, Mahasiswa, dan Masyarakat. Kami menerbitkan artikel kami dua kali dalam setahun pada bulan Februari dan Agustus. Ruang lingkup Jurnal Perikanan Terapan (JUPITER) meliputi: 1. Teknik dan Teknologi Budidaya Perairan 2. Biologi Perikanan 3. Teknologi Pengolahan Hasil Perikanan 4. Agribisnis Perikanan 5. Jurnal Perikanan Terapan (JUPITER) hanya memproses penyerahan naskah asli yang berkaitan dengan lingkup Budidaya Perikanan (Akuakultur), Biologi Perikanan, Pengolahan Hasil Perikanan, Agribisnis Perikanan, Kesehatan Ikan, Pemanfaatan dan Pengelolaan Sumberdaya Perikanan serta tidak diterbitkan oleh penerbit lain.

Abstract

Silver pompano fish has great potential for widespread development. This study aims to determine the optimal stocking density that supports the growth and survival rates of silver pompano (Trachinotus blochii). The research was conducted from June 23, 2023, to July 23, 2023, at the Lombok Marine Aquaculture Center, located in Sekotong Village, Sekotong District, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province. The method used was an experimental approach with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisting of five treatments, each repeated five times, resulting in 25 experimental units. The treatments were as follows: P1 = 5 fish/10 liters, P2 = 15 fish/10 liters, P3 = 25 fish/10 liters, P4 = 35 fish/10 liters, and P5 = 45 fish/10 liters. The results showed that stocking density did not affect the growth of silver pompano but had an impact on its survival rate. The average growth data revealed that a density of 15 fish/10L (P2) produced the highest final weight of 3.12 g, while a density of 5 fish/10L (P1) resulted in the lowest final weight of 2.958 g.

Abstract

Vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) has become a national flagship commodity from the aquaculture sector, because it has wide market opportunities, both domestically and abroad. Vannamei shrimp cultivation in Central Tapanuli Regency has begun to be carried out and has developed quite rapidly since the last few years. The purpose of the study is to determine the influence of water quality on the growth of vannamei shrimp in the shrimp pond industry of PT. Berkat Kasih Karunia in Central Tapanuli Regency, analyzed environmental factors that affect the survival rate (SR) of vannamei shrimp and to identify water quality parameters that affect the growth of vannamei shrimp in shrimp ponds of PT. Berkat Kasih Karunia. The method used in this study is a descriptive method. A number of the parameters measured include absolute weight growth and absolute length, survival (SR), water quality in the form of temperature, pH, DO, brightness and salinity. The results showed thant for the growth in weight ranging from 8,0 – 8,3 g and in length between 6,5 – 6,8 cm, respectively, in which considered optimal under the condition of maintained water quality. The water quality ranged as foloow: temperature 28,9–29,0 0C, pH 7,5-7,7, dissolved oxygen (DO) 5,8-6,1 (mg/l), brightness 38,4-39,0 cm, and salinity 19,5-20,0 ppt. This range of parameters supported the physiological activity of the shrimp, and the absolute growth of vannamei shrimp during the study. The survival rate (SR) of vannamei shrimp of 98% indicates the success of pond water quality management. It also indicates that the pond environment is free from the excessive environmental stress, such as extreme salinity, low oxygen, or phatogenic attack.
