Abstract

This study aimed to identify the types and meanings of figurative language applied in the song lyrics of Don’t Smile At Me album by Billie Eillish with the hope that readers can understand more about figurative language in depth. The documentation methods were combined with note-taking techniques to collect the data. To analyse the collected data this study applied descriptive and qualitative methods. Furthermore, the theory of Kennedy (1987)) was used to describe the figurative language expressed in the study. The analysis of this study shows that all types of figurative language are found in the song lyric. They are allusion, metaphor, hyperbole, irony, metonymy, , personification and simile. The most dominant figurative language found in the song lyric is metaphor.. To classify the types of meaning in the song lyric, the theory of Leech (1981) was used as the supporting theory. There are seven types of meaning proposed by the theory, thus this study found two of them namely, conceptual meaning, and connotative meaning. The figurative language used in the song lyric mostly expresses connotative meaning. Only a few of them express conceptual meaning.

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui strategi dakwah komunitas bikers fisabilillah dalam memberikan pemahaman keagamaan remaja di Kelurahan Mulya Agung Kabupaten Banyuasin. Dalam penelitian teknik analisis data ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Lokasi penelitian yaitu di Kelurahan Kedondong Raye Kecamatan Banyuasin III Kabupaten Banyuasin. Teori yang digunakan yakni menurut Asmuni Syukir strategi dakwah adalah siasat atau taktik yang di pergunakan dalam aktivitas dakwah yan g harus di perhatikan dari asas-asas dakwah, serta teori menurut Glock dan Stark pemahaman agama adalah simbol, sistem keyakinan, sistem perilaku terlembagakan, yang semuanya itu berpusat pada persoalan-persoalan yang dihayati sebagai yang paling maknawi. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu bahwa strategi dakwah komunitas Bikers Fisabilillah dalam memberikan pemahaman keagamaan remaja di Kelurahan Mulya Agung Kabupaten Banyuasin sangat di haruskan karena pemahaman keagamaan ini sangat berguna sekali apabila dalam hal keyakinan, oleh karena itu kehidupan masyarakat yang tidak didasari dengan keyakinan serta pemahaman agama yang syar’i akan menimbulkan suatu keraguan pada dirinya. Dan oleh sebab itulah perlu adanya pembinaan serta pemahaman mendalam terhadap agama untuk para anak muda khususnya remaja, karena kurangnya pemahaman keagamaan yang dimiliki masyarakat Kelurahan Mulya Agung baik pemahaman secara historis maupun teoritis. Pemahaman keagamaan yang minim yang menjadikan masyarakat terutama remaja mudah sekali untuk mengklaim atau menghakimi sesuatu yang menurut pribadi mereka itu salah, oleh karena itulah sangat perlu adanya pembinaan dan pemahaman agama yang mendalam.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the plot structure and how the plot laws are applied in the novel "Ulysses" using Kenny's theory. This qualitative research focuses on story plots in order to analyze how story plots are structured in the novel and how the plot laws are applied in the novel. The findings from this study reveal that the storyline is structured like a tree. The plot is developed by the main plot which gives way to four interrelated plots and forms a story with branching plots. The findings indicate that there are two potential meanings derived by the plot structure. First, stories with branching plots increase the tension level of the reader. Second, the sequence of events in the novel shows that the novel "Ulysses" can be considered as a Bildungsroman novel

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengentahui unsur dari strategi dakwah kepada mantan preman dan metode dakwah Jamaah Tabligh di Kota Palembang. Dan semoga karya ini dapat bermanfaat serta menjadi khazanah pengentahuan dan wawasan tentang ilmu strategi dakwah secara umum bagi pembaca dan khususnya bagi pribadi penulis karya ini. Jenis penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif, mengumpulkan sumber data primer dan skunder, teknik wawancara dan teknik analisa, dokumentasi, dan observasi lapangan lokasi penelitian di markas Jamaah Tabligh Masjid Al-Burhan Jl. Basuki Rahmat, Kec. Kemuning, Kota Palembang. Hasil penelitian ini adalah penerapan strategi dakwah yang dilakukan Jamaah Tabligh pada mantan preman sedang khuruj dari awal sampai akhir mulai proses awal musyawarah Ijtima’, kelompok pengorganisasian Holaqoh, penerapan Khuruj, dan evaluasi Kargozari. Kemudian metode dakwah kepada mantan preman Semua proses tahapan ini merupakan bentuk rangkaian unsur strategi dakwah sebagaimana sesuai dengan teori M. Munir yaitu sebuah pengaturan secara sistematis dan koordinatif yang memiliki suatu rangkaian unsur yang disebut Takhtith perencanaan, Thanzim pengorganisasian, Tawjih Penggerakan, dan Riqabah evaluasi, dari beberapa unsur manajemen dakwah ini Jamaah Tabligh relevan dan memiliki unsur manajemen dakwah teratur serta termanajemen dengan baik. Dan metode dakwah yang dilakukan oleh Jamaah Tabligh yaitu Khuruj’ Fii Sabilillah dengan maksud keluar dijalan Allah SWT untuk berdakwah dengan program kegiatan Bayan, Ta’lim, Mudzakarah, Jaulah, Musyawarah.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of leadership and work motivation on employee performance at PT. BPR Siliwangi Tasikmalaya. The research method used is descriptive and associative method. The research population is the employees of PT. BPR Siliwangi Tasikmalaya with 51 employees. The sample in this study amounted to 51 employees and used a saturated sample. Data collection was carried out through distributing questionnaires. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study show that simultaneously and partially, leadership and motivation each have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Overall, leadership and motivation have a significant effect on employee performance at PT. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the layout of the production machine on the work productivity of the employees of the Sehati 2 Rasa Cibungkul Ciamis Cracker Factory. The research method used is descriptive and verification method. The research population was the employees of the Sehati 2 Cracker Factory, Cibungkul Ciamis Flavor, with a total of 40 employees. The sample in this study amounted to 40 employees and used a saturated sample. Data collection was carried out through distributing questionnaires. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis and simple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that there is no significant effect between the layout (layout) on work productivity at the Sehati 2 Rasa Cibungkul Ciamis Cracker Factory.

Abstract

The reality of inter-religious violence, especially experienced by adherents of Christianity and Islam in Indonesia, continues to occur and becomes a common struggle. This article aims to seek the role of the Churches against inter-religious violence in Indonesia. Using a literature study approach, I explored the reality of interfaith violence from a variety of Christian, Islamic, and social thought and produced a service approach for churches in Indonesia. The findings of this article contribute to the Churches, namely the Pastoral approach of Interfaith Friendship. This approach offers two alternative issues, namely cross-religious pastoral dialogue that is correlational and globally responsible, and centered on shared vocation and responsibility for human suffering and the ecological crisis. Through this approach, the Church reconciles the tenuous relations between Christians and Muslims in Indonesia and even builds synergies in alleviating human and ecological problems.

Abstract

This study focused on analyzing women’s linguistic features used by the female main character in a novel entitled Pollyanna. The theory used in this study is Lakoff’s (2004) theory about women’s language features and the theory of language function proposed by Pearson (1985). Library research method was used to collect the data in this study; the collected data were analyzed by using descriptive qualitative methods based on the women’s language features found in Pollyanna novel. It was done by writing a description of the required data and explaining them in the form of paragraph form. This study used an informal method in presenting the data. In order to provide explanations of the data found, all of the collected data classified according to the sub-chapter which are lexical hedge or filler, intensifier, tag question, rising intonation, empty adjective, precise colour term, hypercorrect grammar, super-polite form, avoidance of strong swear word, and emphatic stress. The finding shows that the novel used all of the women’s language features with various language functions. The most used feature appeared is empty adjective; it reflects that women tended to use empty adjective to express their emotion through an utterance.

Abstract

The stock price is the main consideration for every investor or trader when they want to buy assets or shares in a company. This study aims to determine the effect simultaneously or partially of the rupiah exchange rate variable, interest rate variable and inflation variable. The population used in this study is the annual financial statements of PT. Gudang Garam Tbk in 2015-2022. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative research. The sample selection uses a saturated sample. The sample used is the annual financial report of PT. Gudang Garam Tbk in 2015-2022. Source of data in this research is secondary data in the form of financial reports. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS 25. Based on the results of the study it was concluded that exchange rates, interest rates and inflation simultaneously have a significant effect on stock prices. The rupiah exchange rate partially has a significant effect on stock prices. Interest rates partially have a significant effect on stock prices. Inflation partially has a significant effect on stock prices

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of compensation and work discipline both simultaneously and partially on the work productivity of production employees at PT. Daiwani Putra Utama. The method used in this study is a survey. With a research sample of 70 production employees as respondents. The data used is using primary and secondary data. The analytical tool used in this study is multiple linear regression using the SPSS version 25 support application. The test results show that simultaneously the variables used in the study, namely compensation and work discipline, have a significant effect on the work productivity of employees in the production department at PT. Daiwani Putra Utama. Likewise, partially, there is a significant effect of compensation on the work productivity of employees in the production section, and partially, there is a significant effect between work discipline on the work productivity of employees in the PT. Daiwani Putra Utama.
