Abstract

Perkembangan perkebunan kelapa sawit di Indonesia mengalami peningkatan pesat. Dibalik perkembangan pesat komoditas kelapa sawit, bermunculan masalah dan isu negatif mengenai perkebunan kelapa sawit sebagai penyebab kerusakan lingkungan dan peningkatan emisi Gas Rumah Kaca (GRK). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis emisi GRK yang ditimbulkan dari kegiatan perkebunan kelapa sawit dengan menggunakan metode Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). LCA adalah suatu metode untuk melakukan analisis dan evaluasi secara menyeluruh dari dampak lingkungan dalam siklus hidupnya. Tahapan metode LCA adalah goal and scope definition, life cycle inventory, life cycle impact assessment, dan life cycle interpretation. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa emisi GRK yang ditimbulkan dalam kegiatan perkebunan kelapa sawit selama 1 siklus berbeda-beda. Emisi GRK yang ditimbulkan pada fase TM (umur tanaman >3 tahun) menjadi yang terbesar dengan rata-rata 1887,64 kg CO2-eq/Ha, sementara emisi GRK pada fase TBM (umur tanaman 0-3 tahun) sebesar 989,63 kg CO2-eq/Ha. Sumber terbesar penyumbang emisi berasal dari kegiatan pemupukan. Pada fase TM, kegiatan pemupukan menyumbang emisi GRK sebesar 920,22 kg CO2-eq/Ha dengan jenis pupuk paling dominan menyumbang emisi GRK adalah pupuk urea dan MOP yaitu sebesar 369,67 kg CO2-eq/Ha dan 179,56 kg CO2-eq/Ha.

Abstract

This study is associated with the increased pressure on hill resources due to land conversion that causes environmental degradation and leads to environmental unsustainability. The evenly spread hill known as Bukit Sepuluh Ribu, is a source of community life. The hill formed by the eruption of a volcano, has a land cover, namely close to forest vegetation. The study location is in Bukit Sepuluh Ribu area that has ecological, hydrological, geological and aesthetic environmental function. The concept of community empowerment through Agro-ecosystem can be a solution, thus the utilization of the hill is economically profitable and environmentally sustainable. There are land use unsuitability referring to the existing spatial plan (682.9 Ha), namely high densely settlement area (264.67 Ha), other agriculture (359.21 Ha) and mining areas (58.51 Ha), Through the concept of appropriate community empowerment in accordance with the rules and typology of hill areas can provide the potential benefits of ecosystems and produce products of economic value without damaging them. The concept of empowerment through dryland agro-ecosystem by combining forest-based agriculture activities is one of the solutions to the problem of land management.

Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan menjajaki pengembangan imbal jasa lingkungan di daerah aliran sungai (DAS) Kampar. Objek yang dikaji adalah nilai keinginan membayar (Willingness to Pay/WTP) dan nilai keinginan menerima (Willingness to Accept/WTA). Subjek dalam kajian ini adalah pelanggan PLN dan PDAM Tirta Kampar. Nilai WTP pelanggan PLN sebesar Rp895.462.286 per bulan atau sekitar Rp10.745.547.432 per tahun. Sementara nilai WTP pelanggan PDAM sebesar Rp16.919.039 per bulan atau sekitar Rp203.028.472 per tahun. Nilai WTP total adalah sebesar Rp10.948.575.904 per tahun. Nilai WTA responden adalah Rp5.900/pohon/tahun. Nilai WTP pemanfaat air sebesar Rp10.948.575.904 per tahun dapat digunakan untuk kegiatan konservasi secara vegetatif dan sipil teknis.

Abstract

Program studi di luar domisili (PDD)–program studi di luar kampus utama (PSDKU) adalah program yang diinisiasi dan difasilitasi oleh Pemerintah Provinsi Jawa Barat bekerja sama dengan IPB yang direncanakan berlokasi di Kota Sukabumi. Tujuannya untuk pemerataan akses pendidikan, peningkatan kapasitas sumber daya manusia, serta pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi di Jawa Barat. Berdasarkan regulasi yang berlaku, rencana pembangunan ini wajib memiliki AMDAL, yang dalam prosesnya wajib mematuhi kesesuaian terhadap rencana tata ruang wilayah (RTRW) kawasan tersebut. Hal itu juga termasuk ke dalam skema penilaian dokumen AMDAL pada uji tahap proyek. Tulisan ini hendak mengkaji bagaimana kesesuaian program pembangunan kampus terhadap RTRW yang ada. Gedung kampus direncanakan dibangun di Kelurahan Babakan, Kecamatan Cibeureum, Kota Sukabumi. Kajian berlangsung pada tahun 2018, dengan melakukan tumpang susun (overlay) menggunakan software ArcGIS versi 10.4.1 antara titik koordinat lokasi rencana pembangunan dengan RTRW Kota Sukabumi periode tahun 2011-2031. Hasil overlay menunjukkan bahwa lokasi rencana pembangunan adalah sesuai berdasarkan tiga poin yang diatur yakni rencana struktur ruang, rencana pola ruang dan rencana penetapan kawasan strategis Kota Sukabumi. Program rencana pembangunan PDD-PSDKU IPB Sukabumi sangat sesuai dengan peruntukan ruang yang diatur, yakni berada di dalam kawasan pendidikan dan pembangunan sarana pendidikan.

Abstract

Environmental education (EE) has begun in Indonesia since 1970, however the environmental damages that come from human behaviour are still going on and even increasing. This may imply that the results of environmental education have not been seen. Performance of teachers as educators and learning designers need to be evaluated. The research was conducted at Gonzaga High School in Jakarta and Loyola High School in Semarang with a quantitative approach and qualitative data as supporters. The method used was survey, with questionnaires technique and in-depth interviews. The results show that the active participation of the students in terms of protecting the environment is very low. It means the effectiveness of environmental education in terms of this side is not effective. Performance of teachers as educators and learning designers in the implementation of EE affects the active participation of students in terms of conserving the environment. Training for teachers in making learning instrument needs to be done regarding the conduct of learning related EE more effective.

Abstract

Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 28 hari di Pusat Penelitian Lingkungan Hidup Institut Pertanian Bogor (PPLH-IPB). Perlakuan terdiri dari ikan kecil (panjang total 7-12 cm) dengan kepadatan 5 dan 10 ikan/akuarium dan ikan besar (panjang total 21-24 cm) dengan kepadatan 2 dan 4 ekor/akuarium. Kiambang (Salvinia molesta) dengan biomassa awal 100 gram dimasukkan pada setiap akuarium untuk menutupi permukaan wadah sebesar 75%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bobot tertinggi biomassa giant salvinia yang dikonsumsi sebesar 164,13±62,12 gram terjadi pada perlakuan grass carp ukuran besar dengan padat tebar 4 ekor, yang diikuti dengan pertambahan bobot ikan rata-rata sebesar 6,63±6,51 gram.

Abstract

Water is one of the main needs of life. Long term water shortages can cause disasters. Drought is one of the most common natural disasters that occur due to reduced rainfall and the geological structure of the soil. Gunung Kidul Regency is an area that often experiences drought due to geological soil structure in the form of karst. This study aimed to discuss the efforts undertaken to reduce the risk of drought in the Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta. This research used descriptive method with literature study approach. The results showed several efforts that could be implemented to minimize the risk of drought, namely making wells whose water sources come from underground rivers, utilizing springs and constructing rainwater reservoirs.

Abstract

Coastal and marine ecosystems are productive ecosystems. Socioeconomically, coastal communities rely heavily on the utilization of existing resources in their region. Increased coastal community activity may affect the viability and balance of future resource requirements. This research aimed to determine the relation of coastal community perception about Marine Management Area (MMA) and coastal community participation with management of West Lampung MMA. The sample of this research were 248 respondents. Sampling used convenience sampling technique. Data collection was done by using perception questionnaire and participation then analysed by prerequisite test. Prerequisite test results showed normal and homogeneous distributed data with regression equation of Ŷ = 28,478 + 0,667X. Calculation of correlation coefficient showed the value of rxy = 0.582, it means that the strength of the relationship between variables x and y was categorized as intermediate. There was a positive correlation between the perception of coastal community about MMA and the participation of coastal communities with management of West Lampung MMA.

Abstract

Waste is one of the big problems often faced by metropolitan cities like DKI Jakarta. The Environmental Agency of DKI Jakarta's research stated that DKI Jakarta produces 7500 tons of waste per day with 60.5% coming from residential. Therefore, the DKI Jakarta government initiated the "Sampah Tanggung Jawab Bersama" (SAMTAMA) to mobilize residential people to manage waste from its source at certain locations as a pilot, one of the locations is RT 10/RW 03 Cempaka Putih Timur. This location is regarded optimal in implementing the SAMTAMA program. Based on this, study aim was to find out whether knowledge and attitude affect the implementation SAMTAMA program. The method implemented in measuring the behavior using a questionnaire with Likert Scale. Multiple linear regression was applied. Knowledge and attitudes influenced the implementation SAMTAMA program behavior.

Abstract

Garbage is a result caused by human work so that in our daily life as humans we are always faced with what is called garbage. Waste disposal and processing methods are most widely applied in several cities in Indonesia, including Bengkulu City, which is located at the Final Processing Site (TPA). The existence of the TPA will have an impact on the environment. The problem that is important to be resolved is about environmental pollution, especially waste. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact that occurs due to the existence of TPA Air Sebakul Bengkulu City on the environment and local communities. This research method used literature-based methods, namely research to gather a variety of clarity of the problem in accordance with the research object. The result showed that the existence of TPA Air Sebakul had an impact on surrounding community in any aspects including economy, health, education, the environment, and social communities.
