Abstract

Lately there have been cases of sexual harassment in Indonesia. The stigma that has developed in society that demeans victims of harassment has succeeded in silencing the voice of truth that was about to be echoed. This causes lasting trauma. Pope Francis offers a cure for the hurt that is happening in the world today. The medicine is the Spirituality of Compassion which is manifested in pastoral care for victims of sexual abuse. The spirituality of compassion, according to Pope Francis, is described through the firm faith of a mother who cares for injured children. The mother does not wait for the injured to knock on her door but goes out to find, collect, hug, nurse and make them feel loved. This spirituality enables a person to read the hearts of those he meets and respond to their deepest needs. The spirituality of compassion is on the side of those who are branded guilty, evil and despised. The author personifies himself as a good Samaritan who is present to approach a wounded person. In the process of digging up wounds, the author uses a compassionate approach as Jesus did to the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well. Jesus looked at him with compassion. There is hope that through this process at least the victim can rise and move forward. There is hope that the impact of the wound will no longer make the victim feel hopeless.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the views of Catholic families regarding the role of joint prayer, to find out the supporting and inhibiting factors in carrying out joint prayer, and to find out what efforts can be implemented to increase the activity and awareness of the implementation of joint prayer in Catholic families to develop children's faith in the Saint Joseph Parish Bintaran. The main problem of this paper is the extent to which the implementation of joint prayer in Catholic families in the Saint Joseph's Neighborhood is neglected because it is difficult to divide the time because both parents are busy with work. In connection with this main problem, the writer is interested in writing this thesis with the hope that it can help Catholic families to increase their activity and awareness of the implementation of joint prayer. To study the main issues, the authors conducted observations and interviews with parents as resource persons, children and the head of the Santo Yusup neighborhood as validators to obtain data. The results of the research in this paper are that there are still a number of Catholic families who neglect the implementation of prayer along with busyness due to work, laziness and low awareness of inviting to pray together. Realizing this, efforts are needed to increase the activity and awareness of the implementation of joint prayer in Catholic families to develop children's faith. With suggestions from sources, the authors suggest family catechism activities using the Shared Christian Praxis (SCP) model. Through family catechesis with the SCP model, it is hoped that it will become a means for young families and young people to become more aware of being more active in carrying out joint prayers in the family. Abstract

This research was motivated by rapid technological developments that can change patterns of human behavior, especially in terms of praying online. This study aims to determine the role of WhatsApp as a medium of faith confirmation for people in the St. Benedict, Parish of Santa Maria Assumption Palur, Karanganyar. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews, community meetings, and questionnaires. This research was conducted using a mixed approach between qualitative and quantitative, but leaning more towards qualitative. The collected data was validated by means of triangulation. The results of this study indicate that most people feel that WhatsApp has a role as a medium for strengthening the people's faith. They feel affirmed and think that WhatsApp is able to find God through social media. Meanwhile, there are some people who feel that WhatsApp is less helpful when it comes to praying because it is considered less solemn. The people hope that WhatsApp can be used as a means of strengthening faith through what is shared by the people.

Abstract

This writing is motivated by the lack of understanding of the Sacrament of Confirmation among the Catholic youth of the Christ the King Parish in Cigugur. The purpose of this writing is to investigate the level of understanding of the Catholic youth regarding the Sacrament of Confirmation and to identify the various aspects of life involvement that interest them. The author chooses qualitative research, employing literature review and field research methods. The findings indicate that the Catholic youth's understanding of the Sacrament of Confirmation is good enough, but there is still needs improvement. Some of them express their desire to do the interfaith dialogues. Several of them state their readiness to participate in activities organized by other organizations. Overall, it is evident that the Catholic youth have not yet realized that their life participation is a gift of the Holy Spirit following the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation. It is true that the process of understanding and meaning-making takes time and is not instantaneous. Then it’s good for young people to receive meeting that helps them reflect on the fruit of the Sacrament of Confirmation and meeting that helps young people interpret every life experience. Abstract

The calling of young individuals in church life encompasses a broad understanding. Many young people still lack a proper comprehension of the essence of the calling to church life. Hence, this article aims to provide an understanding of the essence and nature of the calling of young individuals in church life through several Church documents. The article is composed using a qualitative research method with a phenomenological research design and employs data collection techniques such as documentation studies, observations, and interviews. The research findings reveal that young Catholic individuals at Stasi Emmanuel Batu Ampar interpret the term "calling" as a summons to become a priest, brother, or sister. Similarly, their understanding of church life is limited to performing tasks associated with the Church. Consequently, the calling of young individuals in church life is greatly important to be comprehended and responded to in an appropriate manner.

Abstract

Honesty and truth are the important values ​​for human life because they are related to the good behaviors. Educational institution has an important role in educating students’ character of being honesty and truth in the life of students at school. Catholic religious teaching in schools is an effort made by a Catholic religious teacher to instill so called Christian values of honesty and truth in life of students. The research conducted with the following aims: 1) to analyze the extent of efforts made by Catholic religious teacher to instill the values ​​of honesty and truth in students’ life; and 2) to analyze the extent to which those values taught by Catholic religious teachers have a positive impact on the students' behavior. The research was conducted using qualitative methods. Research data was obtained through individual interviews. Research data analysis used an inductive approach. The results of research data analysis revealed that majority of informants revealed that they had tried their best to instill the values ​​of honesty and truth in the life of students through Catholic religious teaching in schools.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the efforts of Catholic schools, especially SMAK St. Thomas Aquino Mojokerto in carring out the process of strengthening the identity of Catholic schools, especially through school pastoral programs. Strengthening the identity of Catholic schools is a means of integrating the values of the Catholic faith. Integrating the values of the Catholic faith can be done through a school pastoral program implemented with the aim of helping students become familiar with the teachings of the Catholic faith and forming good character of the students. In this research the author uses a qualitative approach focusing with a case study method. Research data collection was carried out using observation, interview and documentation techniques. The research data analysis was carried out using a condensation approach.The results of research show that the school pastoral program is a means of strengthening the identity of Catholic schools at SMAK St.Thomas Aquino Mojokerto. Through this school's pastoral program, the Catholic values in the form of faith in God, social values of justice, morality, intellectual values and love have been taught to students at SMAK St. Thomas Aquino Mojokerto aims of strengthening the identity of this Catholic school.

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency refers to such actions that violate laws as well as societal values. It is caused by unresolved internal conflicts within adolescents. Parental support is crucial for adolescents regarding to this unresolved conflicts. This research aims to empirically examine the parental support for Catholic adolescents related to the issue of juvenile delinquency. The study was conducted in the Rejoso Basic Chiristian Community of the St. Mary Parish, Blitar, focusing on Christian families with adolescent children. Respondents for this research were selected through purposive sampling. This technique allows the researcher to personally choose appropriate informants who are knowledgeable or have extensive information related to the researched issue. Data collection methods for this study included structured interviews and observation. Structured interviews used an interview guide consisting of questions formulated based on the research problems. The research results indicated that parental support for Catholic adolescents significantly influences their church life related to the current issues of juvenile delinquency. The role of parents in the religious education of adolescents in Catholic families in the digital era involves guiding, supervising, and supporting the adolescents. The presence of parents must be friendly and become a good role models for their teenagers.

Abstract

This article explores the need for the Indonesian youth to develop authentic inner leadership characteristics that can guide them in navigating the unpredictable and challenging future. The author observes that the current technological advancements that have led to the emergence of an intelligent society focused on enhancing human dignity quality necessitate the development of strong leadership skills among the youth, who are society's present and future leaders 5.0. This article highlights six potential leadership traits: An awareness of technological progress, creativity and innovation, openness to diversity, respect for teamwork and collaboration, enthusiasm for learning and new knowledge, and an appreciation of the importance of ethics and integrity. The author used a qualitative research method and collected data from high school students in Java and Sumatra Islands of Indonesia using Google Forms. The study reveals that attaining effective leadership in the Society 5.0 era requires the Indonesian young generation to cultivate three essential life skills, including independent learning experiences, building global networks, and maintaining a continuous learning process. Practical leadership skills will help them navigate these challenges and emerge as successful leaders in the Society 5.0 era. In conclusion, the article highlights the importance of cultivating authentic inner leadership skills among the Indonesian youth to prepare them for future challenges. The traits identified in the study, including creativity, teamwork, and collaboration, are essential in ensuring that the young generation becomes influential leaders in the Society 5.0 era.
