Abstract

Catechesis as faith educational process is always contextual because faith is essentially involved in the struggle of concrete life. Catechesis of Manggaraian local church must be contextual. A suitable approach for this contextual catehesis is the "lonto leok" model. Catechesis "lonto leok" is the sharing of faith through which people discuss together their problem in the light of Christian faith. Catechesis "lonto leok", existing in-KBG KBG. The emphasis on practical hermeneutic, used in this model until now, can not truly help the people to encounter Christ, the Word of life, personally. Looking ahead, catechesis "lonto leok" should promote hermeneutic paska, that considering life as a mystery, in which people can meet the calling of God to construct the Kingdom of God in the world. In this way catechesis "lonto leok" can guide people to have a solid, independent, and solider faith.

Abstract

The narrative catechesis has characteristics: change, free, and heal catechetical participants. Narrative catechesis reveals the experience of past life that is long hidden or buried. Thus, narrative catechesis is appreciated as a blessing today and gives hope for the future. From this characteristic, trying to analyze narrative catechesis is not difficult. He should have past experiences rooted in certain cultures. A culture (pre-critical) that is full of values frees every person or community from the idea that only rules / formulas or teachings that are understood by reason alone are correct. It is this culture that has buried the experience of even narrative catechesis. In a general sense, narrative texts always have their own patterns that need to be followed. Therefore, narrative catechesis needs to develop itself in certain cultural contexts and traditions of narrative theology, as a result the analysis of narrative catechesis needs to consider the hermeneutics of narrative theology. Y.B. Metz, a fundamental theologian and political theology, taught us since, 1960s, before the Second Vatican Council and moreover in the 1970s, after (post) Vatican Council II. After the Council, he disseminated narrative theology in various monumental theological essays. Understanding this by interpreting theology will lead us to the determination to build narrative catechesis in an effort to evoke faith from every community/ community in an atmosphere of joy and liberating conversation. Narratives from local culture are not only found in romance, novels, fairy tales and others narrated, but are also found in songs of every culture. Poetry that is attached to a song is often a narrative story that can evoke faith, because the narrative story of the song is born from the experience of the heart (spiritual and emotional development), the feeling and intention (effective and creativity development), intellectual development and (perhaps also) sports and kinesthetic (physical and kinesthetic development)

Abstract

The Catholic Church teaches that the end of human sexuality is toward unity and procreation. Therefore, on sexual morality the Catholic Church refuses artificial family planning but promotes natural family planning. The Catholic Church strongly proclaim this sexual morality. In fact, situation in the Christian families actually is not as good as the Church’s hope. It seem that s lot of Christian families disobey the Church’s teaching on sexual morality. Actually, most of Christian families know better and use artificial birth control. They think and feel that natural birth control is less safe and high risk. It happens because they only have a little and limited understanding on natural birth control. However, a complete understanding on natural family planning and a knowledge of negative effects of artificial birth control help Christian families to move toward natural birth control. Based on this awareness, the diocese of Surabaya, where this research is done, and catechists of family formation, need to evaluate seriously a premarital education class, especially in matter of time, method of catechesis, competence of catechists so that the premarital education class promote understanding of Christian families on natural family planning and it’s implementation

Abstract

Faith education (read: catechesis) today is experiencing various challenges due to the changing times that are increasingly related to technology (digitalization). The catechists are invited to be clever as snakes and sincere like doves (Mat10:16) so that they are still able to instill and proclaim faith along with the demands of the times. Adjustment of methods in the catechesis is an initial step that needs to be implemented so that the proclamation of faith is not dead by digitalization. In addition, the increasing number of Church members needs to be accompanied by adequate assistance from catechists and pastors. This becomes an urgency in proclaiming faith in the midst of the strong flow of information in digital society that can erode faith in Christ. Concern over the problem of strengthening and developing the faith of the people needs to be of particular concern to the Church. The solution that can be offered through this research is the online mistagogical catechesis program as an alternative method to answer challenges and needs in strengthening and proclaiming faith
