Abstract

Lime peel (Citrus aurantiifolia (Christm.) Swingle) belongs to the Rutceae family. It contains essential oil, limonene and limonoid, with the potential as a larvicides. The research aimed to determine the effect of essential oil of lime peel against Aedes aegypti larvae. The method used was steam distillation to obtain the essential oil. The activity test was conducted by determining LC50 at the concentration of 250 ppm, 500 ppm, and 1000 ppm. Each concentration was tested for 10 Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae. The result showed that the essential oil of lime peel had the effect against Aedes aegypti larvae with the LC50 value of 151.356 µg/mL

Abstract

Lannea coromandelica (Houtt.) Merr is one of the plants that hast he potential to have free antiradical activity. The research aimed to compare the free antiradical activity of methanol extract of the bark and leaves of Lannea coromandelica (Houtt.) Merr using the free radical reduction method 1.1 diphenhyl-2-picrylhydrazil (DPPH). The bark nd the leaves extract of the tree were obtained by maceration using methanol. The methanol extract preliminary tests were conducted by TLC using n-hexane: ethyl acetate (9 : 1) and ( 7: 3). The positive results for free antiradical aoctivity marked with purple to yellow spots after DPPH spraying was obtained. The thick bark and leaves extract were then quantitatively tested for free antiradical activity to obtain lC50 values using spectrophotometry at the maximum wavelength of 516 nm. The results of data analysis showed that methanol extract of its bark and leaves had lC50 of 20.778 µg / mL and 19.819 µg / mL, with ascorbic acid as a comparison having an lC50 value of 6.816 µg / mL. So it can be concluded that the methanol extract of the leaves of"Lannea coromandelica (Houtt) Merr has stronger anti-radical activity than its bark.

Abstract

Burns are injuries that are quite common. Severe types show a relatively high morbidity and degree of disability and the costs required for treatment are also high. Epithelialization is a tissue repair process with the growth of epithelium on the peeled surface. The research aimed to determine the effect and effective concentration of the ethanol extract of siam weed leaves (Chromolaena odorata L.) on the epithelialization effect of burn-induced rats. The research used 15 rats divided into 5 treatment groups, namely negative group (Sodium CMC), positive group (Lanakeloid®), ethanol extract of siam weed leaves group with concentrations of 10%, 20% and 40%. The induction of burns used a heat plate at a temperature of 100°C for 2 seconds on the back of the rats. The therapy was given twice a day for 28 days. The measurement of wound area was done on days -1, -3, -7, -9, -11, -14, -17, -21, -24, and -28. The data were statistically done using One Way Anova followed by further test of LSD (Least Significant Difference). The results showed that the positive control group was not significantly different from the extract given group with the concentrations of 10% and 20%, therefore, it can be concluded that the ethanol extract of siam weed leaves had an effect in accelerating the wound healing process in burn-induced rats with an effective concentration of 20%.

Abstract

After receiving a prescription, it is the responsibility of a pharmacist to examine the prescription's administrative, pharmacological, and clinical components for completeness, suitability, and accuracy. This study aimed to examine the administrative, pharmacological, and clinical completeness of pediatric prescriptions at RSUD of Siwa pertinent to Minister of Health Regulation No. 72 of 2016 concerning Pharmaceutical Service Standards in Hospitals. This research was conducted at RSUD of Siwa Hospital using descriptive quantitative methodology. During the period of October to December 2021, 104 pediatric prescription sheets were collected retrospectively using the approach of purposive sampling, and 51 prescription sheets matched the inclusion criteria and data processing was then performed based on the completeness of administrative aspect, the suitability of pharmaceutical aspect and the clinical aspect. The results obtained on administrative aspect were as comprehensive as 67.91%, pharmacological aspects as comprehensive as 80%, clinical aspect of the drug interaction component as complete as 45%, and dosage accuracy as complete as 31,38%.

Abstract

Study On a Solvent Variation againtst the Antioxidant Effect on Red Date leaf Extract (Ziziphus Jujuba mill). by free Radical Scavanging 1,1-dipheyil-2-picrilhidrazil (DPPH). (Supervised by Ahmad Najib and Risda Waris) The research aimed to determine the differences of the antioxidant activities by three types of the extract variantions (Ziziphus Jujuba mill.) against DPPH (free radicals). Red date leaf extract was extracted by sequence maceration method by N-Hexane, ethyle acetal, and ethanol. The extract obtained was analyzed its antioxidant activity againts DPPH free radicals. The tests were conducted in 5 series concentration (20, 40, 60, 80 and 100) ppm using methanol. The activity on the free radicals, the absorbances were measured by a spectrophotometer at the maimum wavelength of 515 nm and calculated IC50 value. The results showed that n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and ethanol extract on the red date leaves had the activities with IC50 value with the very weak intensity as antioxidants ( >200 ppm)
