Abstract

ABSTRACTMalnutrition still becomes a problem in developing countries such as Indonesia. In Boyolali regency the prevalence of stunting and wasting of infants was 27,5 percent and 6,6 percent respectively. The aim of this study was to analyze the correlation between chronic energy deficiency and Anemia on pregnant mothers with the nutritional status of infants aged 6-12 months. Prospective cohort design was implemented in authorized administration of 6 Community Health Centers of Boyolali Regency. A number of 40 pregnant mothers who had record of chronic energy deficiency and Anemia during third trimester and have infants aged 6-12 months participated in the study. Statistic analyzed were performed using the Peason’s Correlation method. The study failed to show the relationship between chronic energy deficiency during pregnancy and z-score of weight for age (WAZ), height for age (HAZ) and weight for height (WHZ) of infants p>0.05 while anemic pregnant mother found a correlation with Z-score of weight for height (WHZ) of infants (p<0.05), but had not correlation with z-score of weight for age (WAZ), height for age (HAZ) (p>0.05) of infant 6-12 months. Thus, early improvement nutrition program for adolescence should be done to prevent malnutrition in pregnant mothers such as chronic energy deficiency and anemia.ABSTRAK Gangguan gizi masih merupakan masalah di negara berkembang termasuk Indonesia. Di Kabupaten Boyolali prevalensi balita pendek (stunting) sebesar 27,5 persen dan kurus (wasting) 6,6 persen. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan riwayat kurang energi kronik (KEK) dan anemia pada ibu hamil dengan status gizi bayi usia 6-12 bulan. Desain Penelitian adalah kohort prospektif di enam wilayah Puskesmas, di Kabupaten Boyolali. Partisipan terdiri dari 40 ibu yang memiliki riwayat KEK dan anemia pada kehamilan trimester III, memiliki bayi berusia 6-12 bulan. Analisis statistik menggunakan uji korelasi pearson. Pada penelitian ini tidak ditemukan hubungan riwayat KEK pada ibu hamil dengan status gizi bayi usia 6-12 bulan (Indeks BB/U, PB/U dan BB/PB) (p>0,05). Riwayat anemia pada ibu hamil berhubungan dengan status gizi bayi indeks BB/PB (p<0,05), akan tetapi tidak berhubungan dengan status gizi indeks BB/U dan PB/U (p>0,05). Perbaikan pencegahan kurang gizi dan anemia pada masa remaja atau calon pengantin diperlukan untuk mencegah terjadinya gizi kurang pada ibu hamil dan generasi selanjutnya.

Abstract

ABSTRACTSome of causes of stunting are the deferment of early breastfeeding initiation and the administration of the non-exclusive breastfeeding. The objective of this study was to elaborate relationship of early breastfeeding initiation and exclusive breastfeeding administration history to the stunting. This sudy used the observational analytical research method with the cross-sectional design. Its subjects were 33 stunting and 77 non-stunting children aged 6-24 months in Boyolali Regency. Data was analyzed by using the chi-square test and multiple logistic regression analysis. The stunting children who got the early breastfeeding initiation were 14, and those who did not get the early breastfeeding initiation were 19. The stunting children who got the exclusive breastfeeding were 4 and those who did not get the exclusive breastfeeding were 29. Early breastfeeding initiation and exclusive breastfeeding had a significant correlation with the stunting as indicated by the p-value <0.05. The children who did not get the early breastfeeding initiation have the possibility of 3.69 times higher to suffer from stunting than those who got the early breastfeeding initiation. In addition, the children who did not get the exclusive breastfeeding have the possibility of 9.5 times higher to suffer from stunting than those who got the exclusive breastfeeding. Therefore, nutrition education to the gestational mothers on the importance of exclusive breastfeeding administration is required.ABSTRAK Penyebab masalah stunting antara lain akibat dari penundaan inisiasi menyusu dini (IMD), dan pemberian air susu ibu (ASI) tidak eksklusif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan IMD dan ASI eksklusif dengan kejadian stunting. Penelitian observasional ini dilaksanakan di Boyolali dengan menggunakan pendekatan cross-sectional. Partisipan terdiri dari 33 anak stunting dan 77 anak tidak stunting berusia 6-24 bulan. Analisis data menggunakan uji chi-square dan regresi logistik berganda. Partisipan anak stunting yang mendapatkan IMD sebanyak 14 orang dan tidak mendapatkan IMD sebanyak 19 orang. Anak stunting yang mendapatkan ASI eksklusif sebanyak 4 orang dan yang tidak sebanyak 29 orang. Inisiasi menyusu dini dan ASI eksklusif memiliki hubungan yang bermakna dengan kejadian stunting (p<0,05). Anak yang tidak mendapatkan IMD memiliki kemungkinan 2,63 (1,02-6,82) kali lebih tinggi mengalami kejadian stunting, selain itu anak yang tidak mendapatkan ASI eksklusif memiliki risiko mengalami kejadian stunting 7,86 (2,43-25,4) kali lebih tinggi dibandingkan anak yang mendapatkan ASI eksklusif. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan edukasi gizi kepada ibu hamil mengenai pentingnya pemberian ASI eksklusif.

Abstract

ABSTRACTStudy on family nutritional awareness (Kadarzi) of phase I showed that the knowledge, attitudes and behavior of nutrition in the community were still low. Study on Kadarzi of phase II focused on the development of nutrition education materials. This study was to develop media and nutrition education strategies in order to achieve Kadarzi. The study design was cross-sectional, with qualitative methods. The study was conducted in three provinces: West Java, West Sumatra and East  Kalimantan. Samples consisted of two groups, namely sample for media feasibility test (n=98) and sample for implementation of educational test (n=296). Educational channel used was formal education. Type of educational media developed was posters. This study had developed 5 posters with the materials: 1) fruits and vegetables, 2) breakfast, 3) ) weighing to adolescents 13-15 years old (SMP), 4) weighing to adolescents 16-18 years old (SMA) and 5) adolescent anemia. The result showed there was an increase on nutrition knowledge as much as 78,25 percents, after being given nutrition education and a desire to assess an adolescents own nutritional status by weighing and measuring her height. Media nutrition education which was developed was quite simple and easy to understand. The channel education selected was quite effective to improve nutrition knowledge.ABSTRAK Studi keluarga sadar gizi (Kadarzi) tahap awal menunjukkan pengetahuan, sikap dan perilaku gizi di  masyarakat masih rendah, termasuk remaja. Penelitian Kadarzi tahap selanjutnya memfokuskan pada pengembangan materi edukasi gizi yang disesuaikan dengan permasalahan yang ditemukan pada remaja. Tujuan penelitian ini mengembangkan media poster sebagai alat bantu edukasi gizi dalam upaya pencapaian Kadarzi pada remaja. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian operasional dengan desain potong lintang, meng-gunakan metode kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan di tiga provinsi yaitu Jawa Barat, Sumatera Barat dan Kalimantan Timur. Sampel ada dua kelompok, yaitu sampel uji kelayakan media poster adalah guru (n=22) dan sampel uji coba implementasi edukasi adalah siswa SMP dan SMA (n=296). Media yang dikembangkan berupa 5 buah poster dengan materi: 1) sayur dan buah, 2) makan pagi, 3) penimbangan remaja usia 13-15 tahun (SMP), 4) penimbangan remaja usia 16-18 tahun (SMA), dan 5) anemia remaja. Hasil uji implementasi menunjukkan sebanyak 78,25 persen siswa mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan gizi setelah diberikan edukasi gizi dan menimbulkan antusias siswa dalam praktek menimbang berat badan dan mengukur tinggi badan untuk menilai status gizinya sendiri.  Media poster dan pesan gizi yang dikembangkan cukup sederhana dan mudah dipahami oleh guru dan siswa. Sekolah sebagai saluran edukasi gizi cukup efektif untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan gizi siswa remaja.

Abstract

ABSTRACT There has been an increase in number of deaths caused by noncommunicable diseases. It is related to the intensification of packaged products consumption that contain high sugar, fat, and sodium compositions. Thus, a clear and transparent product label is needed to prevent unnecessary mistake in choosing the right food. Traffic Light (TL) is a format of colour-coded nutrition label that has been implemented on packaged foods in various countries. Previous research conducted in the United Kingdom and Australia indicate that the TL system allowed consumers to more easily and accurately select healthier food products compared with other labelling systems. Research about TL has never been conducted in Indonesia. This study aimed to identify perception and attitude of consumers towards Traffic Light Card (TLC) for packaged food products. An exploratory survey on 95 consumers were done at a supermarket in Yogyakarta, supported by data from in-depth interview. Eighty-six percent of consumers perceive TLC as having clear nutrition information, was easy to use, and helpful for choosing packaged foods. Seventy percent of consumers also support the implementation of TLC for selecting healthy products with “green colour” as well as applying TLC as a label format in Indonesia. Future study should be done in different population and measuring practice of TLC use. This study may serve as basis for policy evaluation of nutrition labelling.ABSTRAK Peningkatan prevalensi penyakit degeneratif berkaitan dengan meningkatnya konsumsi pangan kemasan yang tinggi kandungan gula, lemak, dan natrium. Label gizi yang jelas dan informatif diperlukan untuk membantu konsumen dalam pemilihan produk makanan. Traffic Light (TL) merupakan format label dengan kode warna yang dikembangkan oleh The UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) dan telah diterapkan pada produk pangan kemasan. Beberapa studi di Inggris dan Australia menunjukkan bahwa TL lebih berhasil membantu konsumen memilih produk yang sehat dibanding format label gizi lain. Penelitian format label TL belum pernah dilakukan di Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui persepsi dan sikap konsumen terhadap penerapan Traffic Light Card (TLC) pada produk pangan kemasan. Penelitian menggunakan metode mixed researchs yaitu survei yang bersifat eksploratif didukung data wawancara mendalam. Subjek penelitian adalah 95 orang konsumen pusat perbelanjaan di Yogyakarta. Analisis data kuantitatif menggunakan statistik deskriptif sedangkan data kualitatif diolah dalam bentuk transkrip. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebesar 86,3 persen dan 70,5 persen konsumen memiliki persepsi baik dan sikap baik terhadap penerapan TLC. Konsumen memiliki persepsi bahwa TLC mengandung informasi yang jelas, mudah digunakan, dan bermanfaat sebagai pedoman memilih pangan kemasan yang berkaitan dengan perilaku pencegahan penyakit degeneratif. Konsumen memiliki sikap yang mendukung penggunaan TLC untuk memilih produk dengan warna hijau serta mendukung TL sebagai format label gizi di Indonesia. Perlu dilakukan penelitian lanjutan pada populasi yang berbeda dan mengukur praktek penggunaan TLC. Hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi bahan pertimbangan bagi pemerintah untuk evaluasi kebijakan pelabelan gizi.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research aimed at describing quality and identifies polyphenols of wine made from a mixture of banana and pomegranate fruits. The wines with four different ratios of pomegranate-banana fruits were made (pomegranate: banana): 75:25; 62,5:37,5; 50:50; and 0:100 (control). Ethanol concentrations and taste were used as quality criteria. The ethanol was measured using gas chromatography and the tastes were determined with organoleptic test. HPLC methods were used to measure the total polyphenols and identify their chemical identity. The results of this research was that the ethanol concentration (%) varied between treatments (pomegranate: banana extract, %): 10,33 (75:25); 8,62 (62,5:37,5); 4,88 (50:50); and 9,44 (100: 0) and the organoleptic test by 30 panelist resulted in that the mixture of pomegranate:banana of 50:50 (%) was prefered most. The result also showed that the total polyphenol varied from 3,902 to 4,897 mg/ml, in which the more the pomegranate extract added the more the total polyphenol present in the wine. Further, HPLC analysis of polyphenol for wine with different combined fruit extracts (75:25; 62,5:37,5; 50:50; and 0:100) resulted in the identification of 41, 42, and 42, and 22 peak respectively. Predominant types of polyphenols in pomegranate extract added wine are galloyl-hexoxide, ferulic acid, chlorogenic acid, gallic acid, caffeic acid, catechin, epicatechin, punicalagin α, β punicalagin, and elagic acid. On the otherhand few polyphenols were present dominantly or exclusively in banana extract added wine: naringenin, quercetin-deoxyhexose, and rutin.ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kualitas dan mengidentifikasi polifenol yang terkandung di dalam wine yang dibuat dari campuran buah pisang dan delima. Wine dimaksudkan dibuat dalam 4 perlakuan berbeda berdasarkan % ekstrak buah delima: pisang, yakni berturut-turut dalam rasio: 75:25; 62,5:37,5; 50:50; dan 0:100 (kontrol). Konsentrasi etanol dan citarasa dipakai sebagai kriteria kualitas wine, dan diukur menggunakan kromatografi gas untuk etanol, dan uji organoleptik untuk citarasa. Pengukuran konsentrasi polifenol total dan identifikasi ragam jenis polifenol menggunakan kromatografi cair kinerja-tinggi (KCKT) (HPLC) dan diperbadingkan dengan acuan sekunder. Hasil penelitian adalah bahwa konsentrasi etanol (%) bervariasi untuk perlakuan dengan rasio ekstrak delima:pisang berbeda-beda, yakni: 10,33 (75:25); 8,62 (62,5:37,5); 4,88 (50:50); dan 9,44 (0:100). Uji organoleptik oleh 30 orang panelis didapat bahwa campuran rasio ekstrak delima:pisang 50:50 (%) adalah yang paling disukai. Pengukuran polifenol total diperoleh jumlah yang bervariasi dari yang tertinggi yakni 4.897 mg/ml (75%:25%), 4.467 mg/ml (62,5%:37,5%), 3.937 mg/ml (50%:50%) dan yang terendah adalah 3.427 mg/ml (kontrol), dimana wine dengan jumlah ekstrak delima yang makin tinggi maka makin banyak pula kandungan polifenol totalnya. Identifikasi jenis polifenol menggunakan HPLC didapati bahwa wine dengan rasio ekstrak buah delima:pisang berturut-turut 75:25; 62,5:37,5; 50:50; dan 0:100 secara berturut-turut pula terdeteksi  41, 42, 42, dan 22 sinyal dengan waktu tambat berbeda-beda. Jenis polifenol dominan pada wine yang ditambah delima adalah galloyl-hexoxide, asam ferulat, asam klorogenat, asam galat, asam kafeat, katekin, epikatekin, punikalagin α, punikalagin β, dan asam elagik. Sebaliknya, naringenin, quercetin-deoxyhexose, and rutin ada secara eksklusif pada perlakuan kontrol.

Abstract

ABSTRACTHypertension is one of the leading causes of death in the world.The amount of dietary of salt or sodium consumed is important determinant of hypertension. The purpose of analysis is to identify the differences between incidence rate of hypertension according to sodium cosumption.The study is part of a prospective cohort study of Non Communicable Diseases conducted since 2011, in Bogor City West Java, Indonesia. Data were collected by interview and blood pressure measurement. Event of hypertension was defined when in the 1-year of follow-up, participant had a high blood pressure in at least 2 of the 3 measurements. The consumption of sodium was collected through 24-hour dietary recall. The analysis conducted in 2561 participants were do not have hypertension, consist of 94 people with high sodium consumption and 2467 people with low sodium consumption . Data were analyzed by Life Table Survival to calculate the incidence rate of hypertension, with statistical test Wilcoxon (Gehan) to determine incidence rate difference of hypertension according to risk factors. The incidence rate of hypertension in 4-years observations was 58 per 1000 person-year. Adjusted by age and gender, fat and sugar consumption, fruit and vegetable consumption, physical inactivity, and smoking(AHR 71 vs 22 per 1000 person-years), shown that the incidence rate of hypertension in people who consume high sodium, significantly faster than people who consume low-sodium. The incidence rate difference of hypertension between the high and low sodium consumption was 49 per 1,000 person-years.  ABSTRAK Hipertensi merupakan salah satu penyebab utama kematian di dunia. Jumlah garam atau natrium yang dikonsumsi merupakan determinan penting terjadinya hipertensi. Tujuan analisis ini untuk mengidentifikasi perbedaan laju kecepatan terjadinya hipertensi pada orang dewasa, menurut jumlah natrium yang dikonsumsi. Studi ini merupakan bagian dari Studi Kohort Penyakit Tidak Menular yang dilakukan sejak tahun 2011 di Kecamatan Bogor Tengah, Kota Bogor Provinsi Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode wawancara dan pengukuran tekanan darah. Hipertensi ditetapkan apabila dalam satu tahun pengamatan responden memiliki  tekanan darah yang tinggi minimal dua kali dari tiga kali pengukuran. Konsumsi natrium dikumpulkan melalui recall diet satu kali 24 jam. Analisis dilakukan terhadap 2561 responden yang tidak mengalami hipertensi, terdiri dari 94 orang mengonsumsi natrium tinggi dan 2467 orang mengonsumsi natrium rendah. Data dianalisis dengan Life Table Survival Analysis untuk menghitung laju kecepatan hipertensi, dan uji statistik Wilcoxon (Gehan) untuk mengetahui perbedaan laju kecepatan terjadinya hipertensi menurut faktor risiko. Laju kecepatan terjadinya hipertensi dalam empat tahun pengamatan adalah 58 per 1000 orang per tahun dengan laju kejadian lebih cepat pada kelompok dengan konsumsi natrium  tinggi dibandingkan konsumsi natrium  rendah (HR 102 vs 22 per 1000 orang-tahun). Hazard rate suaian menurut umur dan jenis kelamin, konsumsi lemak, konsumsi gula, konsumsi sayur-buah, aktivitas fisik, dan rokok menunjukkan mereka yang mengonsumsi natrium tinggi mempunyai kecepatan terjadinya hipertensi lebih tinggi, dengan perbedaan laju kecepatan sebesar 49 per 1000 orang per tahun.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Hypertension, heart disease and stroke are a major cause of death in Indonesia. In 2013, the prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia about 25,8 persen. WHO concluded that excess sodium consumption showing a positive straightline relationship with increased incidence of hypertension and cardiovascular disease. The aim of data analysis was to get information about  the contribution of sodium intake in children aged 6-18 years. The data came from Individual Food Consumption Study in 2014. The 24 hours recall were done in 2014 was administered to 34.956 children and young people boys and girls aged 6-18 years. Sodium intake were estimated indirectly from food consumption data. The analysis showed that the average of sodium intake in children age 6-18 years were 2609 mg /day, of which as much as 55.3 percent consume more than 2000 mg/day. The food groups that highly contribute to sodium intake were from seasoning (51.8%), cereals and cereals product (21.16%), fish and fish product (10.69%), meat and meat products (4.78%). The main source of sodium intake in children 6-18 years age came from salt (43.9%), followed by noodles (13.2%), other condiment (7.9%) and fresh fish (5.4%) processed fish (5.3%) in consecutive. While  other foods contribute less than 5 percent of sodium.ABSTRAK Saat ini, hipertensi, penyakit jantung dan stroke menjadi penyebab utama kematian di Indonesia. Menurut hasil riset kesehatan dasar (Riskesdas) tahun 2013, prevalensi hipertensi di Indonesia sebesar 25,8 persen. Data WHO menunjukkan bahwa kelebihan konsumsi Natrium berkaitan dengan peningkatan kejadian hipertensi dan penyakit kardiovaskular. Tujuan analisis data untuk memperoleh informasi kontribusi bahan makanan terhadap asupan Natrium pada anak usia 6-18 tahun. Data yang digunakan adalah data Studi Konsumsi Makanan Individu 2014. Jumlah sampel yang dianalisis sebanyak 34.956 anak usia 6-18 tahun. Jumlah asupan Natrium diperoleh dari data recall 1x24 jam. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa rerata asupan Natrium anak usia 6-18 tahun adalah 2609 mg/orang/hari, diantaranya sebanyak 55,3 persen anak mengonsumsi lebih dari 2000 mg/hari. Kelompok bahan makanan yang berkontribusi besar terhadap asupan Natrium pada anak usia 6-18 tahun adalah kelompok bumbu termasuk garam yaitu sebesar 51,8 persen, kelompok serealia dan olahan (21,16%), kelompok ikan dan olahan (10,69%) dan kelompok daging dan olahan (4,78%). Jenis bahan makanan yang berkontribusi besar terhadap asupan Natrium adalah garam sebesar 43,9 persen kemudian bumbu (7,9%), mi (13,2%) ikan segar (5,4%) dan ikan olahan (5,3%), sedangkan jenis bahan makanan lainnya kurang dari 5 persen. Disimpulkan bahwa sebagian besar asupan Natrium pada anak usia 6-18 tahun berasal dari garam dapur, mi, bumbu, ikan segar dan olahan ikan.

Abstract

ABSTRACTLow quantities and qualities of dietary intake have effects on the health and nutritional status of the mother and the infant. The aim is to assess the food diversity and quality of food consumption of pregnant women in Indonesia. The study was cross-sectional survey design covered 33 provinces and 497 districts in Indonesia, and 643 pregnant women were included in this analysis. The food comsumption data was collection assessed using 24 hour recall method. The consumption of seralia and roots 275.8 g and the consumption of the rural mother were higher compared to urban (271.6 g). The consumption of animal protein source group, fruits and milk of urban pregnant women were higher compared to rural pregnant mothers. The food consumption of urban pregnant mother more diversity than rural pregnant mother and the percentage mother who consumed ≥ 5 food groups  was 90.7 percent (urban) and 78.4 percent (rural). The energy, protein, and fat intake of urban pregnant women were significantly higher compared to rural mother. The average score pph was 58. 2 and the score was higher in urban (62.6) women compare to rural (53.2). The score will be increase as the food diversity more than 5 food groups and the energy requirement was 100 percent. So was the score of protein intake.ABSTRAK Rendahnya kualitas dan kuantitas makanan merupakan salah satu penyebab terjadinya masalah gizi pada ibu hamil. Penelitian ini untuk memperoleh gambaran besaran dan keragaman konsumsi bahan makanan pada ibu hamil. Sumber data adalah Survei Konsumsi Makanan Individu  tahun 2014. Sampel adalah ibu hamil di 33 provinsi sebanyak 643 orang. Jenis dan jumlah bahan makanan yang dikonsumsi dikumpulkan dengan metode recall 24 jam. Hasil analisis menunjukkan rerata konsumsi bahan makanan sumber serealia dan umbi-umbian 275,8 g dan konsumsinya lebih tinggi pada ibu hamil di perdesaan (280,4 g) dibandingkan di perkotaan (271,6g). Makanan sumber hewani, buah dan susu konsumsinya lebih tinggi pada ibu hamil di perkotaan dibandingkan di perdesaan. Ibu hamil di perkotaan konsumsi bahan makanannya lebih beragam dibandingkan ibu hamil di perdesaan. Ibu hamil yang mengonsumsi lebih dan sama dengan 5 jenis kelompok bahan makanan persentasenya lebih tinggi di perkotaan (90,7 %) dibandingkan di perdesaan (78,4 %). Rerata asupan energi, protein dan lemak lebih tinggi secara bermakna pada ibu hamil di daerah perkotaan dibandingkan ibu hamil di perdesaan. Skor pola pangan harapan ibu hamil total 58,2 dan skor pola pangan harapan ibu hamil di perkotaan lebih tinggi (62,6) secara bermakna dibandingkan di perdesaan (53,5). Skor pola pangan harapan (SPPH) akan meningkat bila keragaman konsumsi bahan makanan lebih dari 5 dan kecukupan energinya lebih atau sama dengan 100 persen AKE nya. Skor pola pangan harapan akan meningkat bila keragaman konsumsi bahan makanan lebih dari 5 jenis dan kecukupan proteinnya lebih atau sama dengan 100 persen AKP nya.
