Abstract

This research aims to explore and explain the relationship between students' economic conditions and the spirit of learning at universities in Padangsidimpuan.  The methodology applied is descriptive qualitative, using a case study approach.  The informants in this study consisted of 10 students from diverse economic backgrounds, who were selected using purposive sampling method.  Information was obtained through in-depth interviews and observations of the students' academic and social environments.  The data analysis process was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques.  The research findings indicate that students' economic conditions have an impact on their learning motivation.  Students who come from lower economic backgrounds often experience more difficulties in maintaining learning motivation, due to limited access to educational facilities and financial demands.  In contrast, students with better economic conditions have easier access to resources that can increase learning motivation, such as learning materials and support from family.  The findings are expected to provide a perspective for universities to design programs that have a positive impact on students' learning motivation, especially for those who come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Abstract

Technology plays an important role in economic development. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed people's lifestyles, encouraging businesses to shift to a digital approach. Although it has had a major impact on the economy, including MSMEs, the pandemic has also encouraged adaptation, innovation, and digital transformation through technology and artificial intelligence (AI). This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data from articles, journals, books, and official publications. The objective is to explore the phenomenon of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in supporting SME growth through digital transformation and the utilization of AI. The research findings indicate that the 4th Industrial Revolution opens opportunities for SMEs to build sustainable businesses. SMEs are beginning to utilize digital technologies such as e-commerce, food delivery apps, and online business models. However, AI adoption remains limited, although some SMEs have already implemented chatbots for automated customer service. Government and private sector support is crucial to enable SMEs to adapt their business models to technological advancements, ensuring their survival and growth in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the market feasibility of vacuum-packed ikan bumbu kuning products using the Food Choice Process approach, which includes three main components: life course, external influences, and personal food system. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed using an accidental sampling method, targeting respondents who were encountered directly and willing to participate. Data interpretation was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach, examining response patterns for each variable. The results indicate that most respondents favor traditional Indonesian cuisine and prefer ready-to-eat meals due to their busy lifestyles. Factors such as price, packaging, product information, and ease of access also influence purchasing decisions. In terms of personal food evaluation, respondents consider practicality, health, quality, and taste. Therefore, vacuum-packed ikan bumbu kuning products are considered commercially viable, as they align well with consumer preferences.

Abstract

The development of the Islamic financial industry in Indonesia shows great potential, but participation from young people, especially students, still needs to be improved. This study aims to analyze the level of interest of students in Islamic financial products in Yogyakarta and the factors that influence it. The method used is a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection through an online questionnaire. A total of 110 students from various universities became respondents. The results show that students have a relatively high level of knowledge of the basic principles of Islamic finance, such as the prohibition of usury and Islamic contracts. Attitudes towards Islamic products also tend to be positive, especially in terms of convenience and conformity with religious values. Student interest can be seen from the tendency to try and recommend Islamic financial products, although not yet fully realized in real actions. Religious factors, literacy, and digital access have a significant influence in shaping this interest. The implications of these findings emphasize the importance of Islamic literacy education, strengthening digital services, and value-based promotions that are adaptive to the younger generation. This study is expected to be a reference in developing Islamic financial inclusion strategies among students.

Abstract

This study analyzes the operational effectiveness of the Muhammadiyah Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah Institution (LAZISMU) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta through a risk identification approach and mitigation strategies. The problems raised include performance barriers such as delays in fund distribution, program inconsistencies, and recording errors that disrupt internal efficiency. The study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection techniques through structured interviews with internal staff. Risk analysis was carried out using a score assessment method (frequency × impact), both before and after the implementation of mitigation. The results showed a significant decrease in the operational, strategic, reputational, compliance, and market risk categories after the intervention. The mitigation strategies implemented include human resource training, digitization of data management systems, increasing transparency of reports, and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs). These findings confirm that structured risk management can significantly improve the operational effectiveness of zakat institutions and strengthen organizational governance that is responsive and adaptive to external dynamics.
