Abstract

Slide shoe bearings and trunnion bearings can wear out due to friction and can cause breakdowns that can stop the production rate and cause losses for the company, the reason for researching slide shoe bearings and trunnion bearings is the occurrence of overhaul so that there is damage.The research only focused on slide shoe bearings and trunnion bearings. The working principle of the slide shoe bearing itself is to support the load from the trunnion which rotates continuously, because it always receives frictional loads, it does not rule out the possibility of wear and tear, this is where the damage to the bearing material begins, damage can be in the form of wear or cracks and so on.The cause of wear on the slide shoe bearing is caused by dirt that enters between the slide shoe bearing and the trunnion which only has a gap of 0.11 mm. This is also caused by less regular lubrication.

Abstract

Gas turbine efficiency is an indicator to determine the performance of a generator. The greater the efficiency value of the gas turbine in a generator, the better the performance of the generator. One of the things that affect the value of the efficiency of a gas turbine is the air fuel ratio. Air Fuel Ratio (AFR) is the ratio of the amount of air and fuel in the combustion process in units of mass or volume. Air fuel ratio is a factor that affects the perfection of the combustion process in the combustion chamber. In the graphic image it can be seen that the lowest AFR values are on July 3 and 4 2022, when the gas turbine produces a loading of 20900 kW and 20100 kW with an AFR value of 39.76 unitless each. Whereas the highest AFR value is on June 28 2022 when the gas turbine produces a loading of 20780 kW with an AFR value of 40.68 unitless. The highest gas turbine efficiency value is on June 30, 2022, at a loading of 20,650 kW with a gas turbine efficiency of 83.3%. The lowest efficiency value is on July 2, 2022, at a load of 20,800 kW with a gas turbine efficiency of 81.05%. From the results of existing data processing and graphs, it can be seen that the value of the air fuel ratio and the efficiency of the gas turbine are inversely proportional, which means that when the value of the air fuel ratio decreases, the value of the efficiency of the gas turbine tends to increase. However, there are some deviations when the value of the air fuel ratio decreases, the efficiency of the gas turbine also decreases. Therefore it can be concluded that the value of the air fuel ratio affects the value of the efficiency of the gas turbine, however, the value of the air fuel ratio is not the only factor that affects the value of the efficiency of the gas turbine.

Abstract

A drainage pump function is to pump water from the sump pit to the tail race. The drainage pump has a check valve to operate optimally. A check valve is a type of valve used in a piping system to prevent backflow, contamination between fluids, and isolating low-pressure areas or systems from high-pressure ones. One of the problems is the occurrence of blockages which result in damage to the check valve on the drainage pump. The purpose of this obsevation is to be able to find out the corrective maintenance process on the check valve in the Tes's Hydroelectric Power Plant, and to find out the effect of check valve damage on the reduction of electric power in the Hydroelectric Power Plant generator unit. At the time before maintenance was carried out on the check valve of the drainage pump, it made a decrease in electric power, thus corrective maintenance was carried out on the check valve on the drainage pump to maximize the electric power from the generator unit.

Abstract

The composite material made is a sandwich composite, GRC-mortar. This system is composed of a combination of laminae with others through a wiremesh that binds Styrofoam. This composite system is used as an earthquake-resistant house wall, which is expected to be not only lightweight, but also rigid and strong, the mechanical testing involved is bending testing to determine the bending strength and modulus of elasticity of the variation in mortar massa of 20 kg, 30 kg and 40 kg. the highest bending strength is 0.88 Mpa given massa mortar 20 kg, the lowest bending value is given over a mass of 30 kg, which is 0.79 MPa. The highest modulus of elasticity is 30 kg of mortar mass, which is 0.005 MPa, while the massa of 20 kg and 40 kg of mortar has a modulus of elasticity value of 0.003 MPa respectively. The composite that provides optimal strength is at a mass of 20 kg, in addition to being quite resistant to high bending strength.

Abstract

Composite Houses at the BPPT material technology center and polymer technology center were designated as centers of superior polymer composite science and technology in 2018. For this reason, BPPT designed earthquake-resistant composite houses using lightweight materials so they are easy to carry and fast to install, namely using an easy knock down connection system. disassembled. This earthquake-resistant house uses composite materials, namely Styrofoam or polystyrene foam and glass fiber reinforced plastic (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics / FRP). This material is stacked like a sandwich so it is called a sandwich composite panel. The weight of this panel is only about 2 kilograms, 30 percent lighter than cement walls reinforced with glass fiber or Fiberglass. The purpose of this study was to analyze the bending strength value of the Fiberglass fiber sandwich composite in the bending test and the results of the bending value of the Fiberglass fiber sandwich composite with the specification of an earthquake resistant composite house (RKTG) and the effect of matrix strength on the fiberglass fiber sandwich composite using polyurethane core with the hand lay-up technique.. It is said to be simple because the technique is very easy to apply, namely liquid resin is smeared over a mold and then the first layer of fiber is placed on top of it, then using a PVC resin spatula it is flattened again. This step is carried out continuously until the desired specimen thickness is obtained. Bending test values with each mass ratio of 1 kg, 1.5 kg, 2 kg, and 2.5 kg. It can be concluded that from the results of this research at a mass ratio of 1.5 kg the results are 2,242 MPa, from the results of this research the Ultimate value Higher Tensile Strength compared to other masses.

Abstract

Refrigeration machines that cool water are called chillers. Chillers are air conditioners with an indirect cooling system. In this indirect cooling system, the refrigeration machine does not directly cool the air in each room. The refrigeration machine cools the demin water first, then the cold demin water is used to cool the air in the room. Cold demin water as a cooling medium to reduce the temperature of a large space in the Power house. In this study, an Analysis of the Coefficient of Performance (COP) of the Cooler in the Power house was conducted. The data taken for this study were the temperature of the refrigerant when it was released from the expansion valve (T4 = 0 ° C), the temperature when it was released from the evaporator (T1 = 9 ° C) and the temperature when it was released from the compressor (T2 = 77 ° C). At T4 the enthalpy value (h4) was obtained as 204.81 kj/kg, at T1 the enthalpy value h1 was 253.025 kj/kg, at T2 the enthalpy value (h2) was 263.582 kj/kg. Thus, the coefficient of performance (COP) obtained was 4.567.

Abstract

Fiber and shell are widely use solid fuels in steam boilers. These fuels are waste products generated from palm oil processing. The purpose of this study is to analyze the heating value of fiber and shell. This study used 12 fuel samples, consisting of 3 pure fiber samples, 3 pure shell samples, 3 mixed samples with a composition of 90% fiber and 10% shell, and 3 mixed samples with a composition of 80% fiber and 20% shell, to analyze the calorific value. The weight of each sample is 1 gram. Calorific value is used to determine the high calorific value. The use of different samples produces different heating values, resulting in different high heating values. These different high heating values are then used to determine the low heating value, resulting in different low heating values. In this study, each boiler fuel has a different Low Heating Value (LHV). The highest low heating value is owned by pure fiber fuel with a value of NA (Not Available). While the smallest low heating value of boiler fuel is owned by a mixed type consisting of 90% fiber and 10% shell with a value of 179358,51 Kj/Kg.

Abstract

In the gas turbine system there is a section that functions as a place for combustion between a mixture of air and gas called the combustion section. The components of the alignment of the shaft need to be maintained regularly so that the resulting combustion is good. In the process of the turbine producing electrical energy there are many obstacles that occur which result in a reduction in the productivity of the turbine work, one of the causes is misalignment of the shaft. Misalignment on the shaft can be overcome by carrying out an alignment process which aims to make the shaft return to its initial position so that it is parallel to the other shaft. The alignment process is carried out to get the axial and radial values on the shaft which is then carried out by the adjusting process. The adjusting process is carried out so that the position of the shaft that is out of tolerance returns to the tolerance position and the work of the turbine can return to normal.

Abstract

The drone is the result of a collaboration to form a consortium between the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), the Ministry of Defence, the Indonesian Air Force, ITB, PT Dirgantara Indonesia, and PT LEN Persero. In this research, an analysis of the mechanical properties of the carbon composite sandwich panel was carried out using the vacuum bagging method to determine the compressive strength of the composite material. The data used was taken from the results of compression tests carried out on 5 specimens using the Universal Testing Machine (UTM) TENSILON RTF-2410. From the tests that have been carried out, the average compressive strength data is 1.924 MPa and the strain value is 4.253 %. Compared to the compressive strength of the PUNA MALE aircraft specifications, which is 0.127 MPa and the average pressure value obtained in the compressive test on the carbon sandwich composite is 1.924 MPa, it can be concluded that the carbon sandwich composite is suitable to be used as a PUNA MALE body material.

Abstract

Kewpump centrifugal pump is a very important pump in PT. Incasi Raya Edible Oil, West Sumatra Province. Where the efficiency of this pomp greatly affects the performance of PT. Incasi Raya. The use of this centrifuga pump is to move CPO (Crude Palm Oil). This practical work report conveys information on kewpump centrifugal pump maintenance management. This pump works for 24 hours without stopping. Things that need to be done before maintenance are checking into the field, looking for the source of damage, recording the recurrence of the damage, taking data, asking for maintenance schedules. Usually damage to the pump in PT. Incasi Raya occurs due to mechanical seals, damaged bearings, impeller jams that will affect pump performance, so maintenance is carried out using the corrective maintenance method. Based on the maintenance activities carried out, the results were obtained that damage to the pump occurred in the mechanical seal, with moderate damage that was inspected periodically. Then it is necessary to carry out maintenance in accordance with the procedures that have been made.
